useful video, thanks, surely you don't need to disconnect the screen/wifi etc cables ^ unfasten the screen hinges etc to take the fa out ? Just getting the keyboard bezel off is all ? (just. 😞) - or maybe I'm missing something. Gonna have to got through faff this myself in a few days 😞
Hi Guys i have the same model now when i start the laptop it starts and over 10 seconds when microsoft recovery starts it shuts down i changed the thermal paste cleaned the old one and put a new paste but the same problem what can be the issue?
Ah man, i'm sitting watching cos i've got a 7240 i7 ( has been a great machine ) and its got a swollen battery. Its gonna pop unless i can get past that sidewise latch thats holding convex plastic; and i cant see past your shadow, or out of focus. OK , your doing a lot of coverage with one hand, but cmon ya can fix the lighting easily. .Luck.
Thnank you it was a helpful video. Although you don't have to disassemble the whole laptop to replace the fan, you can do it like this th-cam.com/video/cKn1kw6DPr8/w-d-xo.html . It is a larger model and the difference is that the fan connector is on the other side of the motherboard there, so it is more accessible. To have good access it in E7240 it is enough to remove the keyboard, you don't have to remove the palm rest and display.
