Dell Latitude 7290: how to replace the keyboard (in 19 steps!)
In this video I show you everything that you need to do in order to remove the keyboard from your Latitude 7290.
There are 19 steps and loads of pieces of hardware that need to be removed before you can remove the motherboard itself!
Just use the chapters below to help.
00:00 Take out the SIM card tray
00:44 Remove bottom case
2:45 Remove main battery
4:05 All the screws that need to be removed (an overview)
5:12 Remove WIFI card
6:29 Remove LCD screen connector
7:07 Remove x6 hinge screws
8:18 Remove the lid
8:43 Disconnect speakers and CMOS battery
10:59 Remove RAM, fan and heatsink
12:42 Remove SSD
13:12 Remove DC power jack
14:45 Disconnect two ribbons
15:17 Remove the 9 screws holding the motherboard in place.
17:41 Remove the motherboard!
18:19 What secures the keyboard in place?
18:56 Disconnect keyboard and backlight ribbons
19:15 Remove 19 keyboard screws.
21:57 Remove the keyboard
But, beware, as it is quite a lengthy process!
