We're back with another day in the life of a nyc software engineer. Today we're based out of a Starbucks Reserve and we're adding a couple of features towards the full stack application. If you love heavy dev details and building sick tech, stick around.

I'm involved in a late stage startup based in Austin, TX. I love watching content like this as sort of a "sliding doors" scenario - if I had the ability to do it all over again from scratch, now 10 years later when the stacks are decidedly more streamlined and evolved (and lean for lack of a better term) - what would I choose? How much better might it have been... or not. Great work.
you forgot to finish the drink hahaha
These videos lately gives me motivation to tackle the issues I face in my dev works and keep going! these are soo helpful...Thanks mate keep bringing these!!
Hey Jacob. I am also working on a school project and I need to generate clientId client secret pairs for granting access to users to use the service.
Interested in knowing how you have implemented the ssh deploy keys flow
hey bro,I have been following your videos.I have coded for about 4years now , I have tried my personal side projects (most of what I have built have just failled or just didn't turn out to be what I expected) .could you share how you validate your ideas or how you go through the process of creating a startup eg How do you know that this idea is gonna pick up. I would Appreciate your reply so much.
Man i still wonder how you gained so many subs in such a short time like how??
Working on something similar myself 🔥
Heyy, I’m a big fan of yours from Nigeria
Where did you get your transparent glasses ! I love them
Bailey Nelson
Great vid as always. I notice you rarely have your laptop on mains power - apple quote crazy battery like - think the air is 18 hours - can't remember the pro but let's say 12-18. I wondered your experience with code editor open, browser and probably something like docker. Do you get anywhere near their quotes ?
Yeah my battery is amazing!!
@@JacobSucksAtCode would you say you hit their estimates or just good IE 6 hours
@@nickthorley1 I’m normally 6-8 hours
Are you using sonner for your toasts ? If you are i would love to see how you styled them to get that dark feel
I’m just using a theme from shadcn
ooh cool thanks
@@JacobSucksAtCode
What VS code theme are you using? Looks really cool 🔥
Night owl
Dude, who puts the project file tree on the right?? 😂
Brooooo I only recently switched. You’ll never go back trust me 😂

Just in time for my second coffee of the day. Should I also add some booze?
What camera are you using to record in this video?

A private repository sharing tool? What's the difference between that and bitbucket ?
How do you share a link to a private repository via url?
@JacobSucksAtCode you just add the developers to the private repository that you want to share the code with, and bitbucket will email them a link/invite to the project.
@@ironspider9280 How do you prevent cloning? Also, what if you want to share a private repo using a URL and you don’t know who necessarily needs access? Eg. Uni professor
@@JacobSucksAtCode Apologies for all of the questions. I'm just curious about the concept of the application. If you are able to send anyone a link to your private repo, then what is stopping them from sending that link to anyone else ? That sounds like it's defeating the whole purpose of the repo being private. When I think of a private repo I think of a repo that is accessible by members who are whitelisted only. Also, I'm not sure that there is a legit way to prevent repo cloning if someone has access to all of the code. Even if they don't have the option to "git clone" they can just copy the code manually.
@@ironspider9280 User management. All these issues you just raised are why I’m building it haha. Check it out at repobear.com ❤️
VS code theme name?
Night owl
@@JacobSucksAtCode thanks jacob ❤️
Is this project open source?
Not at this stage
The tech is familiar to me, if you want any sort of contributions just let me know 😀
Why not MySQL?
I like postgresql
I thought I was subscribed already 😕
"Subscribe if you are a dev" .... Well, I guess I have to unsubscribe now >< ... I am not a dev, I am a tech support 😆. Keep going, your vlogs are really nice!
Hi Jacob, i'm Brazilian, come back the legend.
