Great review, I enjoyed the movie a lot and agree with all of your standouts. I am glad they didn't go with trying to make it Bibically accurate because then more people would have taken issues with the movie in my opinion. Jeymes Samuel is one of the best up and coming directors in Hollywood. I love the way he writes, directs and scores his movies. You can tell he cares about telling great stories and authentically black stories without putting us in a negative light.
Man I really enjoyed this movie as well. I thought the directing, acting and music were all very well done. LaKieth is definitely the stand out to me. Your note on the the location they used is extremely important. The world really did look and feel lived it. And I also agree with you that the slowed down 3rd act made sense for this movie. Really good review man.
Awesome review man def one i need to check out had no idea Omar from Lupin was involved in this project also Benedict and McAvoy def glad to hear you enjoyed it for the most part
I enjoy this movie as well, and it’s not because of my son, Lakeith Stanfield, I thought all the characters did well. This was a great movie, hopefully or maybe there’s a part two coming
I loved the movie, going to see it again and again. When it's available, will buy it for myself, family & friends as gifts. Wonderful review, thank you
It's deffinetly more historically accurate. And even played with religious dogma in today's time with white Jesus etc. It wa fun and then so moving loved it!
Definitely worth a watch. I've also seen mixed reviews, I've watched interviews of the director which helped, but the message didn't show at all in the marketing.
I get why someone might call this a blasphemous movie, but I don't understand is that same person will turn around and treat a book like the great controversy like its gospel. Now that is real blasphemy.
Everybody wanna talk about blasphemy what about all the other white jesus movies?? I love it because it paints a good narrative of the biblical people as today.
Thanks for watching C! This film I had low expectations for, and the trailers didn't paint a clear picture. But I was in it from the beginning I just love the story they told!
@@screenzenreviews Thanks. I did a review on the movie too..if you have time check it out. I felt that the story, the tone and the pacing were all over the place, etc
The disciples were away with the Jesus we know in the movie, and werent the focus, as its clarences book. It was more of a redemption story not replacement. Also I'm sure some of Jesus's disciples were "cool guys" who changed there lives especially Paul who used to harrass Israelites before Jesus met him. The disciples wouldn't be how we portray them in stain glass if that makes sense they were real ppl.
What about drawing a white Jesus? Isn't this also blasphemy? Just think about the word blasphemy. Some people gathered some writings, 300 years after Jesus died, and created "the bible". And blasphemy is when you say something different than that old story? Would God be mad because of blasphemy? Imagine being immortal, being the creator of the universe, but getting mad because of a joke 😢
Whats blasphemy is having a YT Christ or even so called middle Eastern vetsion. Christ was black just like his creator GOD Almighty. YT skin in the bible is leprosy. Other then that great review!
It seems to me that the first thing to say about this racist video is that those who were then in the Land of Israel were mostly of Middle Eastern appearance and not of sub-Saharan African appearance!! Imagine if they made a video about Shaka Zulu and they would bring Brad Pitt in his role and they would bring European people to play in the movie as Africans and they would try to say that Shaka Zulu and his people were not Africans they were Europeans Sounds ridiculous and racist doesn't it?! Of course, how much yelling and screaming would be heard from you in such a case You would probably shout something like "they are stealing our history and identity" but when you do it in your own country and to other peoples and cultures on the other side of the world, then it's okay, right?! As if it wasn't enough that you tried to appropriate Cleopatra from the Egyptians and the Greeks In the documentary that Jada Pinkett Smith did!! And after that you cry about racism maybe stop trying to appropriate the cultures of other nations!!! In short, this film is undoubtedly this film is the most black Wash film that exists today or at least for this decade!!
Every biblical movie does this. You don't know that Israelis at that time weren't black Africans. Just because there are European Jews today, doesn't mean there weren't and aren't black African Jews.
What are your Thoughts On 'The Book Of Clarence'? 📺
3:04 3:05 😊😊😅⁸
Good job 👏🏽
No blasphemy I appreciate your honesty

Thanks Ken, The Landscape knocked me back in the very beginning! I see the third act as resolution, alot was at stake. 📺
the blasphemy in this movie is against clarence.

I enjoy this movie as well, and it’s not because of my son, Lakeith Stanfield, I thought all the characters did well. This was a great movie, hopefully or maybe there’s a part two coming
😂 get me his Autograph! I had no issues with the cast, thank goodness. It feels self contained to Clarence, maybe another Book!? That would be dope. 📺
Surprisingly I really enjoyed it 🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽💡😊😊
I went into it not knowing what i would get, i love it when movies exceed my expectation. Im picking this up on Blu Ray when the time comes!📺
@@screenzenreviews I was thinking it would be foolishness from the first trailer. But. …. Surprisingly it wasn’t. Agreed 💡
I loved this movie❤

I loved the movie, going to see it again and again. When it's available, will buy it for myself, family & friends as gifts. Wonderful review, thank you
I loved the movie a first of its likeness that was enjoyable to watch and identify with
It's deffinetly more historically accurate. And even played with religious dogma in today's time with white Jesus etc. It wa fun and then so moving loved it!

Nice Review Man
Much appreciated!
This is a Great Movie.
Definitely! 📺
I’ll give it a shot when it comes to home viewing. I’ve heard very mixed reviews for it.
Definitely worth a watch. I've also seen mixed reviews, I've watched interviews of the director which helped, but the message didn't show at all in the marketing.
Such a good movie. I really enjoyed it.🎉
So good! Cant wait till Samuels next project! 📺
Great observation of the film, and it's a great movie.
Thank you gst! This film achieved a lot in 2 hrs. The story was So good! 📺
I get why someone might call this a blasphemous movie, but I don't understand is that same person will turn around and treat a book like the great controversy like its gospel. Now that is real blasphemy.
Great movie
Beginning to end!
Great review! You got a sub...
Much appreciated! Just getting started!
Everybody wanna talk about blasphemy what about all the other white jesus movies?? I love it because it paints a good narrative of the biblical people as today.
Thats what got me, everyone saying Blasphemy didn't get the message, or didn't see the movie 🙄. They need to stop.
It was just ok to me
Thanks for watching C!
Great movie. But the deeper message is that Jesus taught about Chhrist conciousness and not about the man.
Theres alot they dont tell us upfront, and when the romans got the "Bible" it was game over.
Idk about totally non offensive. The ending would’ve been offensive because he was shown to say n go through what Jesus did as well come back to life.
Not for nothing but after Jesus resurrected there are accounts that others ressurected as well. Didn't see the movie though.
Clarence becoming the new Messiah is literally blasphemy. Jesus and the 12 disciples being portrayed as the cool guys is blasphemy.
@@screenzenreviewscool guys? All but paul were poor and not popular. In fact they died horrible deaths because people hated them. 🤦🏾♂️

Yep Revelations 1:14-15. Thanks for the kind words!

Prove Jesus and the jews wasn't black out the bible,no lip service just prove it.
