Jensen / Western Electric 18'' Field Coil Speaker (Euro version)

This speaker I bought years ago in Belgium and meant to use it in a replica low frequency WE dipole enclosure. That never happened out of sheer laziness. But I did restore the speaker fully. The cone appears to be original, but one cannot ever be sure about these things, the device being so old and its history unknown. If you want to just hear it play in iphone 8 audio recording quality, skip right to where the video quality is higher.

Hi, thanks for asking. No not yet. I was/am not yet pleased with the audio channel time lag that is the result of uploading to TH-cam and subsequently got distracted by projects. I did not wish to post to any website with this unprofessional result, so wanted to do a new upload. A beast it certainly is. And I am amazed by the reproduction. I expected little quality in mids but got a nice surprise ;-)

There is growing interest in these drivers for the reasons you mentioned. Apparently some guitarists also favor these. I’m looking forward to hearing more. Regards, Jason

@@polkiju7 Thanks. Yes, guess I'll post a new demonstration and then try to get a good price. 18'' WE/Jensen clones are very sought after, but the prices fetched are in fact rather disparate. But of course this specimen is in truly outstanding condition, which is rare.
