Alfred Molina's portrayal of Doc Ock is on the level of when Batman TAS made Mr. Freeze a sympathetic, tragic villain. I loved his resolve and strength in making the arms his biyotches ("Listen to me, NOW!") and his declaration, "I will not die a monster!" Gives me chills!

Favorite parts of the film besides the Doc Ock train fight are:
    - Peter and Doctor Octavius’ relationship
    - Aunt May pulling away from Peter after his confession but then making amends. It felt very realistic
    - Pretty much every Daily Bugle sequence. Betty and Peter have a great dynamic, I like how Robbie has seemingly figured out Spider-Man’s identity and Jameson is still one of the best characters in a superhero movie ever

Fun fact: The parts MJ’s play weren’t anything random they came up, it mirrors the relationship between her and Peter.
For example, in her second play she says, “I hope you haven’t been living a double life, pretending to be wicked and be really good all the time. That would hypocrisy.”, which mirrors Peter being both himself and Spider-Man, and that MJ hoped he would actually see her play without disappointing her.

The “if you wanna get to him, you are going to have to get through us.” is reference to the synergy of the first Spider-Man movie’s bridge scene when the people started throwing bricks at the green goblin.
This sentiment was well received by the audience and meta as Spider-Man was the first major blockbuster that came out after 9-11, and a major reason for the wild success of the first movie; these “all for one” scenes hit all the right notes: New York, American values and a United country. It was a high point in our American history.
Fun fact: immediately following 9-11, there was such a sense of community there were no car horns being honked on the streets.

FYI Spidey losing his powers is taken from a comic run where he has the flu and it screws his powers up. They decided to make it a mental block for him to work through in this movie to show what struggles his personal life goes through.

Fun fact: Spider-Man 2, took heavy reference in plot and tempo of kikis delivery service. And we know the story writers watched it because Kirsten dunst is the voice actor for Kiki.
Not a bad thing, Spider-Man 2 is my favorite of the franchise. If you liked this movie, you’d like ‘kikis delivery service’

As you said in the last Spidey reaction, the Raimi Spidey is in a much more grounded reality which also perfectly highlights how the lack of an Aunt May character could turn this Spidey franchise into a supervillain arc. The support systems are portrayed in a way that not only enables growth but also trust.

Regarding Peter's face being revealed on the train, it's worth remembering that in 2002 nobody on that train had a camera-phone & Peter is literally the most generic white guy ever. Unless somebody on the train specifically knew Peter (like a classmate from college, or a colleague from the Bugle) then his identity is fine, they saw his face not his driver's licence :D

15:58 Being torn between his normal life and being Spider-Man is affecting his powers and psychologically he doesn't want to be or feel like like he is Spider-Man anymore. This bit's based on a storyline from the comics called Spider-Man No More but in that Peter giving up allowed Kingpin, who back then was a Spider-Man villain rather than the Daredevil one he is now to take over New York's criminal underworld.

It's never said in any of the movies... well in one of the MCU movies it gets a brief mention, but the deal on web clean-up is this: The webs dissolve in a couple of hours so no clean-up needed. Plus they're extra strong and sticky so they'd be nearly impossible to clean anyway if they didn't.

Bit of trivia. It's didn't make this reaction, but when Mary Jane is running in the wedding dress, she passes a man with black hair dressed entirely black.
It was meant to be Thomas Jane, reprising his role as the Punisher he played in his own movie. Things didn't work out with rights issues, so instead they used Jane's stunt double from that movie.
Would've been an interesting third movie if they went the Punisher route.
