If you wanna be more accurate i can see 5 cubes each row then 2 cubes spare. If each cube has 216 buckyballs in the cube and there are 32 cubes you need to multiply them. I hate typing long messages but to put it simple: 32 × 216= 6,912. That is 3,088 buckyballs off the amount you mention.
After a looooong counting, i figured out, that the real answer is 9072. Every cube has a side of 6x6, and to get the volume of one cube, we have to do 6x6x6. That is 216. Then, there are 43 cubes. So to get the answer, we have to do 216x42. And that is 9072. What a clever boi!
Found the problem to actually knowing the answer: then it's 8x5, then it's 6x6, then suddenly you see 42 of those cubes... That messes the calculation all up
