The Flerken was the only part of that movie I liked and now all cats are Flerkens within my family. The plane looks amazing and so is the way it flies.
If you have kids, Kiwico is incredible. Science, math, stem, and tech are needed for our children more and more as we evolve as a species. These kits are super kid friendly and come with everything you need for the experiments. Not to mention ingeniously designed. Both my 10 and 7 year old daughters love them, and love getting big boxes in the mail with their name on it. Good job Kiwico!
The most fun, informative, and entertaining RC aircraft TH-cam channel out there by far! I've been watching you guys since the very beginning. Congrats to being on the doorstep of 2M subs, you all deserve that and many more!!
Forward swept wings are incredibly maneuverable, thats why they arent used on full scale aircraft. They are too maneuverable and even tiny twitches will rip them off the plane at high speeds. Only computers can really react fast enough to keep them stable at super high speeds.
sends chills through my body seriously watching you guys enjoy fly those wonderful RC Planes fantastic graphics guys love the colours and styles I'm from UK and love anything RC you guys over in the states are amazing. Thanks
The nano goblin is still my favorite, small fpv wing (plank). It's durable, plenty of flight time, easy to hand launch and very stable...just doesn't handle much wind.
Who else would absolutely LOVE a new edition FT Explorer. That was my first flite test plane. But I would love to see one that has all the new build techniques and long range equipment that is available now. I just got into long range fpv wings, and would love a flite test plane that could carry a 6000mah 3s and the DJI system for 20-40 minutes.
One of the best designs I have seen and I have seen hundreds!! Even NASA could hardly pull off that step forward design! I want one in full CARBON FYBER, I know kinda not the point but it would be really cool!
After 0:13 ...We once programmed virtural animation, implamented in the drone wing crafts that we used to fly, it had attack animation that created VR simulated crashes when hit with VR fire power, probably should've sold or posted it.
I have always loved RC aircraft .... But just never flown them or gotten into it. I would LOVE to get into VR/first person flying though, that could definitely get me to commit. I also enjoy model making and I have a general understanding of aerodynamics, so this would make an awesome retirement style hobby.
I live 10 min from you guys! I use to golf at edgewater and grew up in minerva! Congrats on the new place. Everything looks amazing! Would love to check it out!
Flirken not my cup of tea, but still awesome for learning FPV and combat. Please keep John O's warbirds coming! You guys are great for the hobby! Those decals look phenomenal BTW.
Your are absolutely right on the fact. That you don't need CAD or CNC (or 3D print) to create rc planes, or any other model for that matter. I studied for a degree in industrial (3D product & furniture) design, this was back in the early 2000's. The CNC and 3D print technologies did exist but we're absolutely out of the budget of the normal person. Our final models were completely hand made by literally mdf wood board and car body filler plus a whole lot of carving and sanding by hand. To give an idea of the tech time line, we knew of any emerging (at least 8 approx years before the typical consumer could purchase) technology being somewhat wireless, it was for audio and perhaps video applications though info was pretty vague, more mind-boggling was the name and what it referenced to was anyone's guess. What was it?............ Bluetooth!
R/C is a great way to safely test new ideas, if it flies in R/C, it should work with any other pilot. For a fuselage, you'd make a template, like a hand carving, that is aerodynamic, then make a mold from that. Into the mold, you pour something that will last a long time so you don't lose your idea. Then, that gets tested in a wind tunnel. If it is aerodynamic and produces enough lift to glide, then you would use a 3d laser image scanner, to upload and create a 3D model of the template. This template can then be scaled to any size, and the proper components, operating system, etc, all other parts, engines, could all be done in a simulation that way, so if all that works, you should be able to 3d print it by casting metals into molds of whatever size is needed, and then grinding out the proper housings for the neccessary components, which can largely be built the same way. Other materials could be used also, but this is a very fast way. That way, if you have a good design, it won't be lost to time, and can be updated faster, and should give vehicles of this design a longer service life.
Forward style wings are the best wings used for the sharpest turn. You can make new gen planes all day with better turning, but if they don't have wings facing forward a rust bucket can ditch them with supreme aerial maneuvers.
Really cool! I don't know if my eyes are deceiving me but it looks like it's got quite a bit of dihedral flex. Also looks like it tracks smoother inverted. Might be interesting to try a version with a little anhedral in the wing or a long center spar across the span to keep it flat.
Man, I would LOVE to be able to have my own plane and just be able to hop in it and fly to wherever I wanted to go. I mean you CAN buy a small plane for about as much as a new car, but you then have things like storage fees, tiedown costs and others that you dont have to worry about when it comes to a car. You could spend an extra $300-$500 a month just on storage costs alone.
i make a lot of rc planes i like to build planes because you will continue to make rc planes because i feel i have friends..like you..thanks for pushing me to continue making rc planes in my channel..i am thai I'm not good at writing in your language.. but I hope you understand that I need to thank you.
I'll love if you guys put a camera in the top-back, so as to see the plane in 3rd person. It'll be a great perspective to fly them, and greater precision for close fly-by.
I’m definately flyin’ this. I thought the Drak looked cool but this a definate new favorite. And a DIY as well. So I can make and crash as many as I want. Thanks again J Bix. You’re awesome.
Challenge!! Can you fly along the water and make it under all the bridges and through the tunnels? That vid would look AWESOME! Hehehe Awesome content as usual guys.
One of my favorite designs from you guys so far, really really want to pick one up soon. Wish you could make the wings removable!!! I would love to see that as a carbon spar mod like the TeamLegit Drak series (which is now out of production!) to take on the go. Love what you guys do thanks a ton.
It actually wouldn't be to hard to make the wings removable Just use the same attachments other models use and fabricate - modify a few things here and there lol It can be done and I agree it would be cool I love my AeroScout because of the removable wing etc You can take it out the box and have it in the air in 2 - 3 mins literally and It's a great trainer also and it can get pretty dang sporty if ya have the skills which I don't lol Barrel rolls and loops is about my limit I've tried inverted a few times but I'm not going to push it right now Safe technology is a beautiful thing 😁 The ole panic button has saved my butt many times 😁 😂🤣✌️
ACTCHUALLY, the Drak was developed and made by Chris Klick of Ritewing. TeamLegit used to sell them, but Ritewing has now been producing the smaller versions of the Drak. The only one that is easy to get now is the Nano Drak, which is a fantastic airframe!
Google for a rc flight field near you! Then head out there on a nice day and ask someone to help you learn how to fly! The RC community are all family and will be glad to help. This plane is DEFINITELY NOT a plane for a beginner/novice. Happy flying!
Come to think of it, the way they toss the planes to flight would be possible for Real Life planes (for this plane design). Like imagine, planes like this being deployed from a carrier but not on water or land, not from a run-way but an arm tossing doing an arc'd throw (like arm throw) motion of 45 to 90 degrees to put it on flight (plane sitting on a rest below before it's release to flight). These would fit for an Aerial Aircraft carrier style, either real planes or drones of its kind. A carrier that uses an "arm throw" launch instead of a runway. The deployment would be from below, behind or side. Acts similar to a disc shooter but planes in place of the discs. Would this be possible?
I have to 70% down scaled Spears that I made for the FPV Combat system, but I am thinking that these would be better for dog fighting. Great looking foam board wing!
LOL! same! i was so disappointed with my fpv! i flew it once and the thing took off and i nearly lost it. they market it like anyone can just pick it up and fly it but its a lie.
The Flerken was the only part of that movie I liked and now all cats are Flerkens within my family. The plane looks amazing and so is the way it flies.
Great video guys can’t wait to see the upscaled hovercraft with Dave riding in it ! The vulture looks awesome too.

Cessna Caravan!!! I have done maintenance on those! and on Supervans! I love those planes!!! So fun to work on!
Another winner!! It just keeps getting better and better.
Enjoyed Noah’s commercial as he was rockin some new ring finger adornment 👌
Forward swept wings are incredibly maneuverable, thats why they arent used on full scale aircraft. They are too maneuverable and even tiny twitches will rip them off the plane at high speeds. Only computers can really react fast enough to keep them stable at super high speeds.
Except they're used on Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut. Incredibly maneuverable at subsonic speeds and designed to twist while under load so that they don't break
Or this one: Junkers Ju 287
Eh, I am not a plane expert, consider me corrected.
Very close to 2 milion subscribers. Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Used to be under resources on the store site.... Im not sure where they are now ... Let me know if you find it.

Wait ! what ? Flitetest does not provide free plans for their designs anymore ?
Agree
Join the FTCA Aircrew. That's the only place they release plans now.
Very cool! It reminds me of the Dark Wing Duck airplane that Matt and Jeremy built about 2 years ago.

For anyone who's seen The Expanse, this looks like something the MCRN would field
Its more like them vulture from elite dangerous. Which is awesome. And i cant wait for season 6 of the expanse!!
Yea lol
I wish they continued that series.
Yo Vi the expanse, es una buena serie!
Bro...... Just watched the latest episode.......
My 🥷🏽
I used to design models like these when I was 8-12, and WISHED for FPV technology back then 🤩🤯
😞🤷🏽♂️
Really love seeing y’all creating new designs. What a great impact you are making. May God bless all of you.
this is an incredibly wonderful plane! Congratulations, John! thank you so much flitetest !!! I repeat: FliteTest is the best team in the world!!!
FliteTest gets better each episode. Just awesome. As soon as i seen the design i knew it would fly great.
One of the best designs I have seen and I have seen hundreds!! Even NASA could hardly pull off that step forward design! I want one in full CARBON FYBER, I know kinda not the point but it would be really cool!

Oh man! I cannot wait to build this!!!! Thanks for crushing it again FliteTest!!!
The Flerken reminds me of the USMC SA-43 "Hammerhead" from the classic 1995 show "Space Above and Beyond.
Lol OK wild cards let's get them wheels up!
I miss that show.
Yeah, one of the good shows that died to early.

12:20 The model is stuck at the top of the tree and needs to be removed. Red and black in color

I can’t believe that this channel is going to hit nearly 2M subscribers!!
Love you and your team, all make awesome content all the time! 👍
Love you too brother!
I dont have any rc planes but this design almost makes me want to buy it. This design is amazing. Great work guys.
You should try making a Jedi interceptor from Star Wars

it did look like it was flying pretty happily inverted, would be neat to see a design with the wing inverted and a underslung gimble camera
i just found your videos today and love em. going to try to make one of these models and take my old pops out to have some fun. thanks for the share
Fiberglass, some crazy motor/prop combo and give it the beans!
the first video i saw was a plane fight video but that's what got me obsessed with airplane and now i fly rc plane, so thank you very much.
WAIT, hold the phone! WHAT is that hyperspace tubey looking thing behind him at 5:28? I love it!

Can anyone tell me what that LED tube thing is at 5:28?
I got to build one of those I like the way the forward swept wings looks. Looks like they fly good also.
This is way better and affordable than DJI drones. Thanks a lot!
That’s cool can’t wait to fly one around 🕹
I really like the video. Meet looking planes. I like to see the Flite Test Team build & fly a Talon. From the movie Stealth.
