Giraffe Blood Draw and Radiographs

Recently, we partnered with the The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore in providing potentially life-saving plasma to their 1-week-old giraffe to help boost his immune system! Watch how our Animal Health and Animal Care teams collaborated to make this possible. Our team is dedicated to working with the animals during training sessions to provide the best care through blood draws and radiographs on our giraffes’ legs. We are also proud to share what we learn using these non-invasive training techniques with other AZA-accredited facilities.
