Remember to check hours they are open. Saturday and Sunday only. However, the property is right up against a main road with a proper sidewalk. I had been to this spot before and walked along the fence. Most of the planes can be seen well from the road.

The unpainted B-17 you said flys does not. It hasn’t flown for more than 15 years when it flew from Hemet California to Palm Springs. I know this because I flew the chase plane to pick up the crew when it landed. It would be a major project to get that thing back in the air.

@@PalmSpringsAirMuseum maybe as a static display but it will take alot of work to get it back in the air. Don’t know when the last time those engines were run and I’ll bet almost every rubber hose on it needs to be replaced. As far as I know it hasn’t moved from where it is for many many years. The museum is going to have to throw a lot of money at the airplane to get it airworthy again.

@@flyerbob124 Any stored aircraft will have to be gone through for liability/safety reasons. The days of waking up a long-stored radial - are long gone - regardless of maintenance. But insinuating it's the condition of the aircraft is simply wrong. That may or may not cost $.

Unfortunately it looks like the guy who just bought the Yankee Lady will be bringing it there to palm springs before he ships it to New Zealand 😢

How did you find that out? Is the Palm Springs Museum listed as a repair facility for warbirds?

@Militartaviationmovies They are flying it to Chino or wherever this museum is and it will be taken apart and put into containers before being shipped to Avspecs in NZ.

You need to brush up on your history before you film. A twelve year old could have made a better video.

So you didn't like the editing? The text added throughout the movie? The blending? I was making no attempt to chronicle the history of these airplanes. I merely visit them and film in amazement of how cool they are. And a twelve year old could not have driven themselves to the museum like I did to make this move. But thank-you for commenting, I hope whatever is ailing you goes away.

@@HomemadeAviationMoviesman i am enjoying your walk-through. I commented on the full vid about b17s. Dont let clowns troll you, I hope one day you can make it up to Oshkosh and we can do a walk through of the EAA museum together. Tell you the stories of growing up as a kid whos grandma worked there and the stupid privileges I had❤
