Holly was so adorable up there. You could tell she was nervous but also excited and she genuinely lit up everytime she was applauded
Holly said in an interview that they will keep the exact same patch cycle and that there will be no less content. What that sounds to me (if they can do this) is that we basically cut off the drought after the last raid that has been a trend in a lot of expansions.
So if they pull that off then it's all just a plus. We'll see
Yeah that's what all my friends and I understood it as when Chris said they wanted the xpacs to get out sooner. It wouldn't make any sense for them to try for what they aimed at with WoD for 1 year xpacs with less patches when that idea failed already.
@@Darkclowdto be fair, that wasn’t really the goal of wod from the outset. Massive amounts of wod content was scrapped super super super early after release when they decided to get legion out the door as fast as possible. It wasn’t so much an experiment with shorter xpacs, it was more a lack of faith in their own product combined with hemorrhaging players hard at the time leading them to putting all their resources into legion.
mop rewind idk im looking forward to it something different since i didnt want mop classic anyway. idk how i feel about not getting another raid honestly since im mostly just a mythic key player but i can understand the raiders being upset 100%, just mop raids i guess
I wish I one day have 1/10th of the stage presence Chris Metzen has. The man is a legend.
Metzen is such a damn legend, I watched this opening ceremony with a friend who has no clue about warcraft and only is interested in overwatch, and even he was hyped for the new wow expansion.
dude the ION redemption arc is so real, i hope this next 3 expansions really shine and bring more players to this beautiful game
I plan on making a video soon about how Ion is actually incredible and is what made the games recovery possible. By soon I mean it will take up to 2 years, but still, stay tuned.
I've always felt like ion making public appearances before the upheaval and microsoft deal was a sad vision. He seemed so pained. Like he knew the product was so much worse than it should have been, and he had to suck it up and pretend like that wasn't the case. I feel like you can see the levity and happiness on his face when he delivered the deep dive. He looks like a person that was proud of his work. He didn't look like a person that knew they would be delivering something mediocre at best.

I don’t think he’s been redeemed necessarily, as I don’t personally feel he’s done anything that would need redeeming. I’d call it more being let off a tight leash or something similar. He doesn’t have as tight a grip around his neck it seems these days where he seems much happier. Like BFA/SL ion straight up looked like someone who should be on suicide watch

Watching the absolute meltdown over Season of Discovery is hilarious. Seeing "high level" classic raiders struggling to comprehend healing through damage and vice versa is great. For me personally, gimme all of SoD. Shaman Tank finally lives beyond the niche.
Same, the boomers have classic era perma if they wanna play vanilla and do their 93rd raid log of naxx. Give me all the good shit of SOD and keep it vanilla world + extra content.
@@veppy4952 Tbf I'm on the edge of Boomer myself lol, I've just kept up through Retail until Dragonflight. But SoD seems like a serious attempt at balancing Vanilla classes, making the unfinished and unviable work, and quite honestly a *better* way to experience that content.
@@Xynth25 exactly. I didnt play classic until TBC because vanilla is so badly balanced. if they gave us that content but harder with the ability to actually play half the specs in the game it'd be a whole new game basically.
With that said TBC was amazing, especially if you are a healer. Wrath is garbage as a healer.
I don’t really see the big deal about it lol I think it looks rad.
I loved shaman healing on Wrath - the balance between managing mana and healing throughput was amazing. Stacking MP5 for regen was fun as hell, as others struggled, you always had enough for a chain heal and hotting up with Riptides and earth shields! @@booradley6832

So many people are being big doomer on this. I think it's great. Retail is looking up because blizzard is actually working to improve the game. Classic+ should be a thing which will make that crowd happy. People need to stop complaining and just play the game or don't. Seriously. If you don't like it, stop paying for it.

Honestly the only people I see complaining about classic +, are vanilla Andy boomers that weren’t going to play it if it included anything new anyway.
There were people in my hardcore guild discord malding over the fact that classic + isn’t -just- new areas.
They even said shit like boomkin mana and single button rotations could be fixed by adding a tier bonus that “fixes it”. Imagine being so naive to think that the only solution vanilla needed was more borrowed power that required you to wear a certain piece of gear to not be worthless

I think S4 should bring Antorus fated in. Bring the sword into context for the new expac.
This is actually a very good idea. So many people who stopped playing after Wotlk/Cata and came back to SL or DF need some catch up or atleast some cut scenes as to why the whole saga is happening
If you didn’t play during antorus. Go watch those cutscenes. You don’t need to bring the raid up to 500 ilvl just to see it.

Regarding Fated and all three raids available, could limit to only loot eligible first X bosses you kill each week on a given difficulty.

Honestly they won back all their credit after we've got the WoW Token and some weird ass Hero+++ dungeons in Wrath. They knew what's coming
Not really. Although the two issues you mentioned are mostly neutral if not positive. Did Blizzard handle things perfectly? No. Should have attacked botting and exploiting hard.
But if the weatherman calls for a downpour on Sunday, he's not considered right because it happens on Friday. He is laughed at, as are they.

It would be nice if we got a mini raid at the least in a 2.5 patch or something. I heard somewhere that we're going back to Nighthold as part of some storyline, so that would be cool if it's not just the DF raids for fated.
The early access thing for no extra money for other games is like a market approach to your game. As a game company, money now>money later because if you get their money now you can invest all that money NOW and get 5-7% return on that vs waiting till later and getting 0. You could also show that increased revenue in a normally down quarter if you planned the pre-sales right
Delves are so majorly interesting to me. I like running around the world doing stuff with people more than any other content and I'm not particularly interested in chasing ilvl.
I like doing the same but also care about progressing ilvl, so if they keep max loot from them to around heroic end boss level as ion said that would be great. Delves seem like a really good middle ground between folks like you and me who want more world content but may or may not care about ilvl. Seems like a win for both sides.

I respect the editing in this. Skip a lot of downtime, even if its just a few frames here and there, respecting the viewers time.
They should really add something more for this expansion. I really wish they would add smaller raids in between patches, like Crucible of Storms or just rotate m+ dungeons more often. I doubt I will stay subscribed after the guild complete the raid when I know that no more content is coming…
Metzen could gete my hyped to watch paint dry. It's so huge to have him back on stage.

They don’t say that every blizzcon if you enjoy World of Warcraft this is the biggest Win they’ve announced at Blizzcon over the past decade. If not ever 3 expansions classic cata(eh) and Classic SoD. That’s awhole lot of exciting shit for anyone who enjoys WoW

I agree. I am not an easily swayed person. Whereas in Shadowlands my heart towards Blizzard was walled off and bitter, I’ve weathered the storm, and the ice is starting to crack rather than distrusting every single word out of their mouths. I’m actually feeling cathartic watching this, a feeling I haven’t felt towards them in a while.
It's crazy to me how so many hardcore player know so much about the game but don't know the most basic thing about the lore
I think the early access for preorder is to actually get people to buy the game earlier. I think less people would wait until the last day before early access to buy the game.

As a warlock main, I wish the warlock hero classes were named after the leading titles of the Burning Legion: Defiler, Deceiver, Destroyer (Archimonde, Kil'Jaeden, Sargeras respectively).
A warlock being after Sargeras makes no sense. It would be better if it was named after a pit lord or something actually demonic, then trying to rationalize why a hero warlock is named after a literal titan when no other class is.
You might as well give druids a eonar class, mages an Aman’thul/norgannon class, warriors either a khazgoroth/Aggramar class, and priests whatever doesn’t get mages titan class.

Those three titles are the ones of the Triumvirate of the Burning Legion. That's what I mean.
@@Aerogosa in your example for the titans, it would be a hero class for Druids for instance called Lifebinder, which is the title of Eonar.
I think the only way they can fully seperate m plus with raid is have the gear only scale in that content similar to pvp in pve content. But i feel like that may end up being worse than dipping into the respective content for like a trinket.
Yeah having to get 3 different sets of gear (pvp, m+ and raid) would just be too annoying. Having pvp and pve gear separated is good tho, since there is such a huge difference between them (I definitely did not like doing pvp for the trinket in castle nathria as a fire mage, and im sure pvp players dont want to do raid or push keys)
@Philwastaken00 I only mentioned it because max said at one point that he hopes the delves won't be mandatory. I mean tbf if you just want to raid heroic you don't need to touch m plus due to the upgrade system. Before the best way to raid even heroic was to do mythic plus so they have taken steps to mitigate the need for m plus for people who srnt interested. But I don't think they can ever fully seperate them unless like I said they were gear specific which wouldn't feel great.
Only Max can see a new Slide, immediately pause the video, and proceed to go on for ages about what this might be and give wild guesses or wishes for what that singular slide of information might mean, instead of just waiting 1 more minute for them to explain the slide they just put on xD
I maintain 4 chars each season with similar ilvl. Rogue main, Druid resto/moonkin, DK tank and shadow priest. Also got my evoker up this season for aug. All of them sit at 437-340 - i only do heroic raids and +16's
The paid early access thing is basically there to force people to pay more if they want to play with their friends at the start of the expansion.
They keep saying they want to focus on the community, but splitting the playerbase at launch goes completely againts the community...
I hope they sell key packs you can buy from the WoW shop every week, icbf farming keys for delves on all my alts.
Fated was not bad at all for the end of expac filler content. It was defo fun in SL when we had all megadungeons in Fated. I think they'll prolly bring the regular dung pool back for that though
I'm LF to it personally to progress on the first 2 raids of DF that I missed and hopefully some of the dungies too.

Oh yeah, Wrath is basically the Cell Saga of WoW. It goes steadily downhill from there. Makes perfect sense.

Back in Cata I actively raided on 7 characters. Alts are definitely a thing, M+ and ap just ruined it due to them being infinitely grindable.

I just don’t do pvp or raids. I do SOME dungeons but not many. So now I have something to actually do yet people still say I’m “casual”.

Everything seems great, but I am still disappointed that DF ends that way. Fyrakk doesnt feel like a final boss. It will probably be one of the longest last raids (Ye, i don't care about fated recycled content). And we literally got lowest amount of raid bosses for a expansion.
All these things sounds good, but it will be like more than a year away from now which is insane.

what nobody really talked about the early access bs is, that what happens to al the other ppl not buying it. Can you still play the old things? or are you locked out of the game for 3 days. when a new game releases nobody cares you can start later i guess but in a live service game it doenst even make any sense.

If they really want to hit their deadline they can simply do 20 month expansions rather than 18 month expansions. Even 21 month expansions will still bring the conclusion before 2030.

a 10.2.7 patch will be much bigger, story and content wise, than fated season in SL even without a 4th raid tier. So basically we have 2 more small patches coming before next expansion I think.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes the Fated season. It's the end of the expansion. The story is wrapping up to continue next expansion. Instead of going from one directly into another, give some time to chill inbetween!
It depends on how long the last patch is. If it's a 2-3 month fated season on a 8-9 month patch, sure, fine. If it's longer than that for the last patch, fated is a bit lame to make up for a content drought. Sure, we can all just go play other stuff in the meantime, but it doesn't mean it's not disappointing.
Fated is better than nothing for sure, but we shouldn't be happy with the bare minimum. 10.2.5 is going to be a LONG patch, and with gearing being so fast people are going to get bored and quit. I'm not excited about that.
Announcing three expansions right away gives them space to have ”Wow2” ready to be announced and talked about for 2 blizzcons.

People were very obviously not as hyped as 3 expansions.
They are full expansions, it's just one cohesive story across all 3 instead of each expansion being its own story, hence why it's a saga. Nothing mini about it.

Im kinda pessimistic about how WOW is going. Season 1 always seems to be bangers and falls off after season 1 to me. Im hoping they go another route more open world stuff then M+, Raids, Arena.
