Man I was searching for this for a long time, I am catching up to Sips's streams and the increasing amount of vaping really bothered me, than he suddenly stopped, I am glad that a tiny creature gave Sips the push he needed. I love Terry even more now. I am also really glad for Sips's lungs and all that.
Regarding Liquid nitrogen, if you just pour it on bare skin its perfectly safe! I had chemistry labs at uni where the tutors demonstrated by pouring a fair amount over their bare hands. As long as it can run off, the moisture from your skin protects you from freezing.
Can confirm. Would not suggest anyone else tries it though, it might pool in small areas on your hand and having skin that doesn't hurt is recommended by all doctors everywhere.
It's the leidenfrost effect isn't it? Our skin warms it up so quickly that there is a pocket of nitrogen gas between the liquid and our hand. Like pouring cold water on a hot pan.
@@ascarletstarlet2703 Exactly. You can "hover" a small drop of nitrogen on your hand until it all has turned into gas, as long as you make sure it keeps moving, as it can quickly cool down the skin to a point where it can make contact if it stays on the same spot.
Yeah you´d have to get soaked in it to make it life threatening. Even then you´d almost certainly not die just suffer severe frostburn. A small drop like in Pyrions story is pretty much harmless even if it causes frostburn.
In case anyone's interested, the "Where have I fallen?" motto apparently comes from Edward Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon carving it into a wall while imprisoned in the tower of London
My favorite aspect of all Triforce episodes is the fact that they always refer back to something they say earlier in that episode. Also when they bring up stuff from past conversations, like jugging for example. It's just great and I'm glad I have something nice to listen to on my way to my college classes
My favorite part about the triforce because they talk about the samething across multiple episodes but they talk about it with such an energy I dont care so i can just rewatch every episode and still not be bored
Was watching the podcast, but when I heard sips talk about Terry the tortoise being on stream I had to tab out and see the absolute unit :) Love the podcast! I always listen and re-listen to the podcasts and am genuinely excited to see the notification when a new one is uploaded. I think PFlax is probably right or at least for me he is. You guys have a great chemistry.
You still can get milkmen to deliver it to you in the UK. It used to be that only the milkman was allowed to sell milk which is why everyone had it, but after shops got licences to sell it the use of the milkman declined
those lamps work on the same principle as a phone screen I think; its based on the capacitance of your hand, so sometimes other stuff can confuse the electronics, I've had AC wires near the lamp turn it on and off really fast
the whole flexible bag is for if it gets frozen is interesting. in mn with a winter like this year, our milk containers are plastic and often break or change shape.

Sips lemme give you the ultimate air fryer tip - place a baking sheet or grease proof paper at the bottom of the air fryer - it'll help with cleaning up after using it, gets most of the burnt stuff and oil out in one go. :)
the Tefal actifryer also had a wee chance of catching fire! a few years ago there was an issue with some of them. Hopefully this has been addressed in recent ones
I think Nitrogen just flows off and evaporates harmlessly. It's only bad if it can pool. You also really don't want to drink it. There has been a trend to use it in cocktails in stuff. A distant aquaintance of mine had to have their stomach removed, because of a cocktail accident.
Pretty sure I heard they only used to put milk in the tea first when they had glass cups and the boiling water would smash the glass so they put milk in first as a sort of cushion I suppose
@@Barquivius That's not true at all. Quebec where I live, and the maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and P.E.I.) commonly do too. I've never seen a store that sells milk not have it in bag form, even convenience stores. They're apparently less common in western provinces but I can't speak for those, but it's said they are sold there too in lesser quantities. Just ask someone in B.C. who knows, what a milkwutter is.

I don't know if anyone here has had those Nissin "Oriental" Insta-Ramen but they went off market where I live for awhile till I found a packet in a similar package that said "Soy Sauce: Same Oriental Taste" which had me confused as to whether or not it was the Oriental noodles of a new flavor, turns out it was the Oriental Noodles. Just kinda sharing that bit of info that supports P-Flax's statement that "Oriental" is an uncouth term these days. P.S. I find it funny that Nissin, a Japanese company, is censoring the phrase "Oriental" despite being "Oriental".
Im with Sips on the impulse buying at the moment and I am currently banned from the pet shop because of it as I now own 6 hamsters xD 2 of them was given to me from a family member as they couldn't keep them but the other 4 were all got, 2 bought and 2 adopted, because they do exactly what Terry did! When they see me they run to the front of the glass and go crazy and I can't leave them behind, I have to take them home xD They look at me with their adorable hamster eyes and I can't just leave them behind! So I have spent a good couple of hundreds of pounds on them with cages and toys and bedding ect. I swear animals communicate and tell each other how to get bought or adopted XD

Spur-thighed tortoises are illegal to trade. So sips is either mistaken or an international smuggler.
Wikipedia says that it’s illegal to trade but it also has a [where?] tag and a [not specific enough to verify] tag so that may just be bullshit
pixlark it depends on the place. Where did your source say that these tortoises are illegal? Link maybe?

@@alastairbond7104 I'm not on about now. Back before a lot of people could afford ceramic glass was a cheaper option

Bagged milk does still exist, can confirm.
It does exist, but not often because milk is so rare. Most of the time they are bags of boiling water and hot sand.
Bag milk is still a thing here in New Bruwnsick
Bagged milk was I thing in alberta during the 80's to. Was cheaper than getting it in a carton.
