    Air fryers are exactly just mini electic ovens. The main reason why they cook faster is that the speed of the air strips off the cold air that comes off of the food.

    When I was a kid going to the zoo and seeing animals that i wouldn't have seen otherwise made me realize how important conservation actually is. It made them real instead of just pictures in a book or something. So i think they are good for kids if the parents teach them some respect for the animal instead of trying to climb in the cage or whatever

      I'm lucky to have grown up near a wonderful zoo (Fort Wayne Children's Zoo) and took the potential of zoos for granted. I only realized when I went to a zoo up in Michigan and pretty much everything was concrete, it didn't help that it was winter at the time though

    Apparently a new sponsor is in order. Into the AM sells amazing graphic T-shirts and other apparel and would totally fit into the podcast since you all have mentioned needing or wanting new shirts. Just a thought!

    Around where I live all the zoos are actually just conservation areas that have a public front attached so people can see and learn about them. Often the animals on display wont even be that interesting, like no elephants or Giraffes because why would they send a Giraffe to a conservation facility in Australia. I think the transition from Zoo to publicly accessible conservation facility to help endangered animals is pretty standard all over the world. So long as there's oversight to stop animal abuse then I see no problem with it.

    Literally about to cook dinner, whack on the two and a half dads podcast, boot up my air fryer, and then hear Pyrion talk about air fryers
    Yes, they’re a revelation. I haven’t looked at other cooking appliances in my kitchen since

    I think a lot of the way people repeat their parents' mistakes isn't so much copying the big things, like getting divorced. It's in smaller pieces that add up to the same result. Their ideas about communication can come from what they see in their parents, and their attitude toward commitments/keeping their word, things like that. Or maybe they can see some of it happening and just don't know how else to do things.
    I mean, yeah, some people probably just think things like, "My dad just skipped out. Why should I have to put in the work and stick around?" But for those who wanted to do better and failed, I think subtle things could stack on each other without them noticing it.

    The sad thing with the Orca topic is that research suggests that the part of their brain that processes emotions is much more developed than humans. Therefore, they feel far more than we do, and if being trapped in a tiny cage would be emotionally damaging for us, for an Orca it would be ten times worse

    My oven has a convection mode it’s the exact same thing….but it’s a full sized oven

    • @knitterknerd
      @knitterknerd 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Seriously! My parents had a microwave with convection...maybe 40 years ago? They cooked the Thanksgiving turkey in it for basically my entire childhood, and even my grandmother admitted she couldn't tell the difference. Even my 20-year-old toaster oven has convection. But they slapped a new name on it, and suddenly people's lives are being changed by it?

    zoos can be either/or. They are good for conservation and raising money - but are also jail cells where kids throw rocks at animals. It sucks. But think about their increasingly nonexistent environments due to industry...
    Not all zoos are for profit

    Bruh it’s called AIR fryer for a reason 😂it uses AIR. It’s not an «oil fryer» is it?? It’s literally just a small convection oven, it’s not that complicated 😂

      @sheppieboi Plenty of adults call their romantic partners partner. Some people in their 30s or above feel weird about calling their partner girlfriend or boyfriend, since they aren't girls or boys, they are adults. And if they aren't married they can't say wife or husband. Or perhaps in this case Lewis partner might be non binary, in that case girlfriend is wrong as well.
