Hi Drew, like you, I love to see the old industry and wonder what it was like back then. I've walked the W&B canal from Birmingham to Wast hill tunnel, and the Stratford canal from Kings Norton Junction to Brandwood tunnel. I think it's got to be by bike the rest of the way, and in better weather! The last time I was there, the old toll house was half burned down, and it was all scaffolded up and covered up. Nice to see it all done up again, let's hop the A holes leave it alone!
Hi bud interesting canal this one I'll have to do a video towards wast hills then you have the Stratford canal I will have to try and film . Definitely a long way so the ebikes do come in useful . I loved exploring this canal towards Kingsnorton was tempted to go further but it was too cold on the day
Great video, Drew some fantastic buildings 👏
Thanks mate I enjoyed looking at this canal 📸😁
I really love exploring the canal networks, I had a beautiful canal boat holiday the year before last and it really is such a different word there with such fascinating histories! Great video!
Thank you , glad you enjoyed that canal boat holiday I would love to do something like that to explore on a boat 😁
That Adrian chap knows his onions. He needs a youtube channel!!
He used to do it at one point I'll give him a heads up on that
Enjoyed this along with all the others. regards the Bournville part, during the war a bomb landed right on one of the bridges carrying the canal over one of the roads near to the Cadbury factory. The canal water poures through the hole & flooded the road beneath, sadly a lot of familys were sheltering in the cellars of the houses & unfortunately drowned. I dont know how many lives were lost but it was quite a lot. I think theres a monument to them in one of the local churches.
Thanks mate appreciate that I might do a video separately on the Cadburys like show frankley beeches , the factory and go back to tardebigge reservoir to make it into one video . I'll have to have a look at some of the churches nearby
Enjoyed thank you 😊
Your welcome thank you
Nice video, I always wondered what those hatches were for on the Bridges, there are some near Dudley Port on the old Mainline Canal. Great video, nice to watch as I only walked this earlier this year. All the best, Webby 👍🏻
Thanks Webby quiet interesting those hatches quiet a few on the black country canals . Thanks mate can't wait to go do some more videos 😁📸
Have walked on the canal from Birmingham to Worcester 32 miles in 11 hours 👍
