    Truly impressive set up, and it's old news now! Watching your videos takes me back to when I didn't have a dime to my name but I rigged up an inflatable raft, put a carpet-wrapped plywood floor inside, and straddled a cooler! Within a couple of years I bought my first boat, but you can bet that I sure got a lot of looks! Sure was fun for catching fish though! My dad and I share a canoe with stabilizers for hitting a river/stream or landlocked pond now.

    Hands down the slickest Tarpon I have ever seen. I have a Pre-08 T140 (rubber front hatch, no gear tracks...) that I'm getting rigged now, and you have really given some inspiration! Also, as a test electrician, and electronics tech for 16 years I have to say bravo on your on-board power system for the cameras and FF-very clean install, my man.

    • @ndyakangler
      @ndyakangler  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Marc! A lot of planning went into this setup, probably more time spent brainstorming than actually building. I think the hardest part was coming up with ways to machine some of the plastic parts with the limited power tools I have. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out though, I haven't changed a thing since shooting this video and I plan on keeping everything the same for this season.

      Thanks Rick, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Somehow your comment ended up in my spam folder so I just came across it. Hopefully by now you've had a chance to try out your new kayak! It's always a good idea to take it out once or twice before installing anything just to make sure your intended mounting locations will work out. If the water is warm enough there I'd take it out empty to a calm spot in about chest deep water and test its limits by tipping over and practicing re-entry a few times too. Have fun and be safe out there!

      Thanks man! The only problem with the light is it draws a lot of bugs so I use it mostly for a navigation light while I'm moving. I might have to try a night bit for some walleye this spring though before the bugs get too thick. I'll have to experiment with some colored lenses over the light this summer too, maybe I can avoid drawing them in. I haven't made any other changes to the kayak yet. I'm thinking about getting a micro power pole for cat fishing but I'm not sure if I'd put it on this kayak or the orange one.

    I took a spork and modified it to fish out of. 😂.
    The most perfectly put together kayak fishing rig I've ever seen, bravo

      It's been nine years since I filmed this video and other than adding a power pole anchor I really haven't changed much.

    Great video, excellent set up. You should open a kayak business. Thanks for taking your time explaining everything.

    I think you need some sponsers to give you some free equipment. 13k subscribers and audio and video quality is top notch!

    I got my first fishing kayak few weeks ago. Wish i had bought one years ago. Been out about 5 times so far and love it. Been told im crazy because one of the lakes i go to has gators in it lol. Which is odd for north east Alabama. But they somehow have managed to establish them selves in this big lake we have called hillabee. Anyway Could you do an update vid on your set up now. Really interested in your new anchor system with the rod. Love the videos! One of my new fav YT channels

    Excellent Video!! You are a mod genius sir. You set up is well thought out, user friendly, and functional. I love the extra mile you put in with the black screws. That did make a different on the overall appearance. Very professional.

      Wesley Dean Thanks man! I bet I spent more time just thinking and planning out the next step than actually building on the camera rigs. They turned out great though and so far they've been working without any problems.
