Letting Giant Python Incubate her own eggs!

  • Moo, who has been maternally incubating her eggs in her enclosure for the past 100 days. As one of the largest snakes in the world, reticulated pythons are known for their impressive size, strength, and beauty.
    Reticulated pythons are found in Southeast Asia and are named after their unique pattern of interlocking scales, which gives them a distinct, reticulated appearance. These snakes are excellent swimmers and climbers, and they have been known to reach lengths of over 30 feet in the wild.
    Moo is a great example of the maternal instinct that is present in many snake species. Female reticulated pythons will coil around their eggs to provide warmth and protection, and they will even shiver their muscles to generate additional heat. This maternal care continues after the eggs hatch, as the mother will remain with her young for several weeks.
    Although reticulated pythons are powerful predators, they are not typically aggressive towards humans unless provoked. In fact, many of these snakes are kept as pets due to their unique beauty and docile temperament.
    We hope you enjoy this rare glimpse into the world of maternal incubation in reticulated pythons, and we invite you to learn more about these fascinating creatures.

    This is why you’re the absolute best in your field. People can build relationships with reptiles, it just not the same as mammals. Reptile-human relationships are all about trust. And if you never break that trust, the bond is even stronger. I love that you’ve taught me this.

There are so many videos out there of other breeders who manhandle their snakes & laugh when they’re clearly in distress, while they steal the eggs she just laid….but here you are, showing that these kinds of relationships exist if you work for it. And this is just so much more comfortable to watch, in my opinion, than some fat turd getting bit in the face by a reticulated Python who is absolutely stressed to the max because of how she’s being handled. It doesn’t have to be that way…..but it takes time, dedication, patience, and love. You have to be willing to provide all of those things. You do. And that’s what makes you special.

    You know I think it's really nice to see some make Keepers actually let their mother snakes incubate their own eggs. It's always nice to see that cuz I'm sure it's stress of them out to have the eggs yanked from them and then taken from them and you know.

    Im glad you’re showing others how sweet these guys can be. After getting a snake, I’ve noticed how intelligent and loving they truly are. It makes me sad when I watch videos debating about whether they even have feelings. I’ve even seen vids of reptile breeders saying they don’t! Of course as a reptile breeder with all your snakes being in crates and you never really bonding with them you’re not really gonna be able to see what they’re really like since they’re not comfortable with you.
    My snake, Constantine, loves to poke his head out of the substrate once he hears that I’m in the room. I’ll walk in not seeing him and a couple mins later he’ll have his head peaking out against the glass to see what I’m up to. He’s so fricken adorable. He’s even eaten while still holding onto me! And he loves climbing things I’ll take him out every now and then to let him explore he’s so fricken adorable. And my snake is still a baby, I’ve only had him for 5/6 months. Anywho. They have feelings. It’s sad how people don’t typically know that. Or that they have such a bad rep I guess people didn’t even care to know cuz there still isn’t many studies done about how emotional they can be.

      Isn’t that because some snakes (and other animals) will eat their eggs? Also safer that way because the eggs are in a monitored incubator. Vs some moms not wanting to eat so they can stay with said eggs.

    • @LauraP865
      @LauraP865 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@silentmeklar1783 that‘s what I‘m thinking too… I thought that most of them leave the eggs right after they laid them, so I dont know if thats really the relationship or he put her just for the video next to the eggs that would also explain that she‘s absolutly not interessed in what happens with them… but I dont know which kind of snakes leave the eggs and if there are breeds that really stay with them and protects them but I think as soon as they‘re out they leave the mom, so i dont think its comparable to animals that stay with their „kids“..

    • @silentmeklar1783
      @silentmeklar1783 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LauraP865 some animal’s definitely do stay with their kids, I just wouldn’t have labeled snakes as the ones. Or other animals that are willing to eat their young. I’d say a better example of animals that stay with their kids would be elephants or even horses

    I also used to think that reptiles are not capable of feelings and therefore not capable of such bonds. I simply had no idea what I was talking about. I don't have any reptiles myself and I don't want to get any, but I like to watch other people dealing with these animals and that made me change my mind completely. I was just stupid and people like you help others to change their view of the world and for that I am grateful. Thanks. 👍🏼
