  • I have been trying to get my RX28SE Gen2 in the 6.9 seconds. I’ve been stuck at 7.0 for couple of weeks now. All I needed to do was replace the NHX motor to my PN 3500KV v3 motor. lol
    Solo session at LEMO.
    3500KV LiPo Spec:
    GL ESC (blinky)
PN 3500KV v3 (no sensor wire)
    Hardbody- Jomurema
    PN Gear Diff (13/53 gearing)
    Marka 15R on PN F1 20mm, +3mm
    PN KS1042 on PN F1 19mm, +.5mm

Tj i have a question been running mini z for a couple years now. I run box stock and i also have 2 pn 2.5 cars 1 2500kv lipo, and 1 3500kv AAA, i just found out that after this season evo boards at our track are gonna be outlawed because they will not do blinkey mode on esc. What chassis would you recommend for my first lipo car with seperate electronics. I don’t think i am ready for a reflex yet and I can’t find the pn 3.0 anywhere in stock, and not sure if an atomic or gl racing car would be competitive or not. Any recommendations would be awesome thank you.

Hi Rick, I really hope that your track will not do that. The entry fee to get in this scale with a kit chassis is the same price as the big scale R/C. New drivers would rather spend that kind of money for the big scale... Its not good. I hope they figure out their rules running the Kyosho cars with kit cars and not completely eliminate the Kyosho Evo cars.
I drove and tuned all current available kit cars in the market except for G-Force. The only car I can recommend 1st is RX28 G1 or G2. Buy a used one locally with electronics or from someone online with good reputation (check out FB Group page). The 2nd car I would recommend is RTRC RTA v1.2, BUT really look into the RX28's FIRST! It is the best car out there for me because its easy to put together, setup and drive. If you're struggling with it, ask someone local. Ask the fastest guy with RX28 locally that's not going to tell you to buy more stuff because the RX28 is race ready out of the box. You just need tires. If PN 3.0 is available, you can run that too because that's probably slightly cheaper route (maybe save $40 vs RX28, not much). In 2500 LiPo class, th PN 3.0 car can complete with the 2500 cars spec or open gear. In 3500 class, the PN 3.0 can compete in this class with spec gears (11-12T pinion with 53T spur). Open gears or 13T gearing, will be tough if you're racing against RX28's. By tough I mean, you will be spending time chasing setup with the 3.0 and changing setup on this car is not very easy. The RX28, when you change setup its very, very easy. Just make sure to get the DAA and not the KISS frontend.
I have few setup up tips in this channel for the RX28's. I will soon post a new setup for the RX28 SE Gen2 in 2500 and 3500.
Good luck! Reach out anytime, cheers!

I know the mini-Z was made for those rubber workout tracks, but... is it possible to drive this thing anywhre else? are you able to drive it on tile, or a gym floor, or could you drive it around your house that is hardwood floors and tile? etc... I really want a car I can whip around my house and also be able to take to the track on occasion, but the track would be a after thought... Would I be better off just buying a 4WD mini-Z stock box car that drifts and just ripping around my tile? Also do they make any 4wd reflex drift miniZ cars or does reflex only handle the 2wd race setups?

Mini-Z wasn’t made for foam (not rubber) tracks. The track came after the Mini-Z… You can use it anywhere as long as the ground is smooth and clean. I have a box stock for my 6 y/o that she uses at home on the floor. I just have to sweep the floor and mop it before she can use her car. If I only sweep it, the car still gets dusty. If I don’t sweep, the car would pick up hair on the floor and get stuck on the wheels, drivetrain, etc.
RWD can easily spin out on house floors or even garage cement floors. You’re better off getting the AWD from Kyosho.
Reflex only makes RWD. No need to buy expensive kit cars for bashing on house floors. Box stock is perfect for that.

@@tjaymacRC thanks for the info! Do you know anything about the M20? AWD.. i've seen some videos saying the M20 is better for slower drift or something to that nature, but didn't know if you have any experience with AWD and if you prefer the older or the newest or if you have a specific AWD model you'd recommend?

@@Nullscr1pt You're welcome! I don't know much about drifting honestly so I'm probably not the person you should about about drifting but I have pretty decent throttle control which is what you need for drifting. If you're asking about too much power/torque with the MA030 it being brushless, you can always change the motor to 4100KV which is about the same speed as the stock brushed motor but without the drag. Then you can find the right gear ration (the kit comes with couple of gears) and you want to get a proper radio to adjust this throttle linear feel. I would highly recommend the Noble NB4 radio because they work perfect for Mini-Z and are cheap!
In this video I made in 12/2022, I have a MA030 for grip racing and it had the stock motor with is an 8500KV motor and its a fast motor for slow speed drift.
