    I am riding this bike now, and absolutely love it! I really appreciated this features walk-through and you did a great job! These two videos were huge timesaver for me.

    Just got backl from 6 days, 1100 miles of remote offroad adventuring on the 350, CA, NV, Oregon desert- It all worked great!

    Either way, if you just shut it off (hot) let it drain a minute before checking. Don't forget to fill paper oil filter when changing oil. The engine only holds about 1.25 qts. of oil total.

    Thanks!
    I enjoyed putting them together.

    A+ ,wow! Thanks!!
    Coolant per the manual, should not be overheating too easy. I have yet to install the fan kit and am considering returning it as I have had no overheating issues...yet. When these bikes get hot, they burp a little fluid (looks like a leak) just to remind you to get riding to cool her off.
    Google "Wee Beasty build" by "E-Ticket" for an in depth study on the 2013 KTM 350EXC-F.

    Great post! I have a '12 model. A few notes: WP suspension is White Power, not Works Performance - Big difference. Also, it is important that people know where the "tip over sensor" and the "crank position sensor" are, as these items have been problematic for some owners.

  • @blancolirio
    @blancolirio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank!
    I thought " White Power" changed their name to "Works Performance" for PC reasons...Are they completely different manufacturers?
    Are those sensors internal?

    Your movies are tremendously helpful and I sure hope you make more! A+!!! I have a question, my 2013 KTM 350 EXC-F came with water in the radiator (no coolant) is that right? Should it come from the dealer with just water or did someone make a mistake? It overheats pretty quickly and I am planning on adding the fan kit but maybe I should run it with 50/50 coolant water mixture like the users manual says before I get the kit. Thanks, Richard

    It's fine for the occasional highway connection to trails, I would not recommend it for a daily commuter on the highway-maint. intervals too frequent @ 15 and 30 hrs.
    55-60 mph comfy even with trail gearing. See the KTM 350 EXCF Stock Gearing video.

    I was looking for information about this bike...
    Far from a superficial review... this is a very detailed instruction about operation of this beautiful machine.
    Both parts 1 & 2 are superb.
    Thanks for sharing great information.

    Yes, they are completely different. White Power changed their name to WP. Works Performance is an aftermarket shock manufacturer that uses a proprietary ball/spring damping system on their pistons. I believe that the tip over sensor is located behind the headlight, but the schematic is unclear on this. The crank position sensor is located close to the stator, and is sometimes called a pulser coil. People have had trouble with both.

    Wow! Wee Beasty build by E-Ticket is amazing, thanks again!!!
    Just to clarify, my bike sends out a cloud of white mist when the bike has been running for an hour and then I have to slow down from traffic or a very technical portion of an enduro. It might also dump from the overflow tube too but I didn't whiteness that.

    BTW - I *love* my 2012 350 EXC-F! I have only owned it for a few weeks now, and I just got in my first decent ride yesterday. It is everything I thought it would be, and more. I am running 13/48 gearing, and it is now a great New England trail bike. I have the EU EXC map loaded, and the bike runs flawlessly, although fuel mileage is not as good as I had hoped. I guess that you can't have everything!

    Awesome bike and review. Just added to my wish list. Thanks for the great review. This has got to be the best street legal enduro machine on the road!

    Damn :/ Now that I got your attention, would you recommend this as an SM bike for normal road use? Been looking at alot of different KTM's, Husqvarna's, Yamaha's and so on, but the 350 seems cheap, and I love fuel injected bikes. So the question is basically if you would recommend any bike in front of the 350, in the same price range.

  • @blancolirio
    @blancolirio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    a little richer w/ the EU mapping... bet she doesn't pop anymore!
    Did 100 miles of fast riding Saturday, no reserve fuel light, stock tank, mapping, and smog.

  • @blancolirio
    @blancolirio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nah, This thing lives for the dirt. Too light and buzzy for extended street use...would be an interesting project though...I'm not sure what to recommend for an SM bike, maybe the 500EXC-F?

    Does seem more complicated than the 2012. Is the ride worth the extra attention to detail the 2013 requires?

    What did you end up getting for bark busters? I'm in the middle of setting up my '14 for single track. Also, you need to find a way to get in the Colorado 500! Would make a hell of a video!

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooooohh I gotta find out more on the Colorado 500...
      I ended up with KTM hardparts barkbusters. Gotta have 'em!

      Awesome, I'll have to order em! I'm trying to get out to your neck of the woods this fall for a ride with daves adventure cycles. Looks like a blast!

    My mate's are going for the 500, 525 and 530 KTM's as their road legal SM's. But I hate buying used and slightly old enduro bikes. So I might pick a 350 up and convert it to an SM bike, won't be doing long journeys anyway, I just like to drive bikes that feels light and nimble.

  • @JoeGP
    @JoeGP 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    11:15 good advice, but if you kick it long enough the battery should charge up enough to start the engine, that's what happened on my bike anyway, but that was not fuel injected (the battery was so low that it didn't give a big enough spark)

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea, all different on fuel injected model. Need 9 volts min just to open injector.

    • @JoeGP
      @JoeGP 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      as long as the kickstarter also turns the generator you will get 9 volts eventually (after enough kicks)

    How is the ktm 350 exc-f on the highway. Is it capable of half hour continuous riding on the highway to a track? What is a comfortable speed on the highway with the bike?

    Are filters high for the KTM? What oil are you using and does KTM have their own oil?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +feelnrite No Toil water based oil...messy but effective. The KTM air filters last a long time, consider a 'sock' over the filter in very dusty conditions.

    No no no....this is a REVIEW of the bike...to show you where everything is located. (See title).
    Oil change recommended every 15 hrs, valve check recommended every 30 hours. These are racing bikes.

    I think I want the 500 because I'm 6'1 205 lbs! Plus gear and a backpack... Probably more like 230-240lbs. What do you guys think?

      Thomas Webby I ended up with a 2019 drz400s. It was way cheaper and less maintenance. I’m just an average rider so it’s been great so far. The ktm would be Nice but it’s a lot of money. The drz is outdated but so much fun.

    so why to have a kick start at all...

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used it before...it kicks the engine over faster than the e-start. So if you are flooded, tipped over, or draining the battery a good swift kick start will get her going.
