    I would love to hear your opinion on cooking some big meats like a brisket, or pulled pork or ribs, on the smaller kettle? (for us it's the 57cm, I think it would be the 22inch for you) as I notice the 57cm kettle tends to have a lot more accessories (such as rotisserie) made for it that you can't get on the bigger model

    Justin: Sorry if you've already covered this somewhere else (and I'll keep looking), but I added a 26" Weber to the arsenal recently, and trying to decide if I need the SnS XL? It doesn't look *that* much bigger than the deluxe, and the reservoir can't be removed. I'm wondering if there would be a buzz-killing drop-off in efficiency? The potential of having to add more fuel once isn't a big issue for me (thinking Brisket or Butts, used to it if/when wrapping to be safe), but if you've experimented with this and have any words of wisdom, I'd appreciate it. I'd prefer putting the $50 difference in the SNS XL towards a bigger brisket on the 26". Thanks and take care!

    • @BabyBackManiac
      @BabyBackManiac  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what's in the case. I like baby backs because they are easier to work with but they have been so lean at times that it was hard to smoke them without them drying out...on the flip side, Spare ribs aren't as lean but they are often machine butchered just terrible so it's a bit of a trade off. All of them are great though.

If you have any ideas to help me I greatly appreciate it. You might remember me on my channel smokin hams bbq. You called me almost 6 years ago and said the 26 was the best smoker to go with and I finally got it. I just found out I have heart trouble and want to try to enjoy cooking with my daughter. Slow n sear xl costs sumthin like 150 bucks... its basicly a thing that holds your charcoal on one side of the kettle. Being that its steel it propably makes them burn a little longer BUT you can bank your fuel on either side of the kettle and it will stay there! You can use aluminun pan or buy a pan pizza ring for 5$ or buy actual drip tray for 20$ and fill it with water and put it next to your fuel that is banked on the side of your grill, light the coals and you have slow n sear setup without buying a 150$ holder for your coals.

    Wow. That is a nice color. (The ribs as well as the grill.). Cute puppy too. My sister has a golden doodle. They grow big fast. LOL. Good breed.

      Yeah this guy looks so much bigger than he did even in the video last week. LOL sweet dog but chews on everything. Including me. If he survives the puppy stage he’ll be a great member of the family. LOL

    Hey BBM, have you heard anything yet about the 2nd Generation Summit Charcoal setups? Would love to get the rundown....

      Not really. I'm sure you've heard the same rumors I have. Basically a stripped down version without the gas assist for $999. I've not heard anything officially.

    Justin, I have really been considering getting a 26” WK to use in some of my videos and I think I just need to do it. Congrats on the new family member. Next time let him sniff the ribs first to help pick up that FUNK smell. LOL. “I think it had a nice BARK!!!” Really enjoyed this video!

    I was waiting to see if you had gotten a Glen Blue! It’s my first 26” and it’s surprising how little the 22” (which isn’t a small grill) looks sitting next to it

    Justin: I think the Obie-Cue made a nice bark.
    Smoky: I'll be the judge of that.

    When are you buying a fireboard for all those kettles?

    I modified mine with some white steel wheels and new wood handles. Now it's too pretty to cook on! So I might need to get a second one down the line as a cooker lol (Ribs look delicious BTW!)

    Nice job on those Ribs. Also, liking the new addition to the family. Did I catch that right, you named your dog Smokey? That's awesome! One word of caution though (I happen to also have a Chocolate Lab that loves to hang out with me when I am cooking BBQ or grilling) is about taste tests with dogs. The meat is obviously safe, but there are some seasonings and things that are actually toxic to dogs. One example is anything containing Thiosulfate such as Onion or Garlic. I would just be really careful about which rubs and things you use when giving him samples. I don't put garlic on my steaks anymore just so that i can give a small bite to my dog LOL.
