....." This is absolutely the dogs bollocks " was probably one of the most articulate, sophisticated, honest, down to earth, emotionally intelligent hambuger reviews i have ever heard and was very touching - left a lump't in't throte bigger than 't fruit platter !
As a professional TH-cam trained armchair wild camping expert I have to say I have never ever ever seen anyone reckless enough to endanger their life by taking A fruit platter to the hills lol
I was up in November for Ben Nevis, amazing place, was due to go back next week but was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, 2 weeks post op and on the mend, keep the content coming mate.
I would have done the same as you, except I would have took the tent, especially with snow on ground and all that, but look were you ended up in car which you made for sleeping. Cheers mate 💯👍
I watch a lot of wild camping videos from various youtubers and enjoy them all, but I have to say that 'Good Bloke Outdoors' has become my favourite of them all. I love everything about this channel, how it's filmed, the music, the cooking, and of course the commentry. Liam mate, you are indeed a 'Good Bloke' I'm looking forward to seeing your channel grow, and I hope you have many many great outdoor adventures for years to come (YOU CLAGGGGGGG!!) 🤣🤣
Thank you for this comment mate, really appreciate it. This is just the beginning and I cant wait to see take all you guys along with me ( digitally 😂 )
When I bivy in alpine regions I always prepare for nasty weather changes and hefty gusts. I never leave any gear lying around, it’s all packed up and ready to gogo. Lost lots of gear from single gusts blowing through my camp with heavy stuff flying off into the night never been seen again. Shoes get either packed inside the backpack or tied to it. It’s a routine that I follow in any bivy anywhere
Love this area, went recently, the most beautiful sunshine day, drove through it the following morning, could hardly see the mountains. Gotta love Scotland.
Kin hell mate, you do put yersen through some shite for our entertainment, that fruit platter did more miles just on that camp than I do on a days hike, it was here there and everywhere, it made good ballast for holding down the flextail pillow though, watching you catching all your stuff escaping the tarp in the wind reminded me of that game 'Whac-A-Mole'😂,fair play to ya though, I think you did the right thing and it seems at the right time knocking it on the head, it would have been a lot harder packing up if/when the wind hit the 30mph mark, you'd have been chasing bit's of kit all over Scotland. All the best Liam and thanks again for another epic episode, Micky B
Thank you for the effort you put into your videos. Of course, content is most important, but the production values are excellent too and add so much. Video quality, colour balance, sound mixing and editing are top notch.
First of your videos I've watched, "nipped out for a wazz", had me howling. Brilliant channel, I've subscribed so I don't miss your vids, I'll have to start making my way through your old ones.
Enjoyed the outdoors In Scotland with you. You have a great refreshing personality. Keep going. I am sure you will do well. I will be watching for sure. 😊😊
Brilliant. So glad you went back to the car that wind crept up and your pillow nearly did a freedom escape. The views are amazing so is your choice of food
Ah you can’t beat the Scottish Highlands, a quick drive and you’re into some absolutely amazing views and terrain, plus of course you can basically pitch up anywhere you want. Just a shame about the weather but hey, that’s the beauty of Scotland
Never underestimate Scotland's four seasons in one day. Beautiful spring day then come night, howling gales, relentless rain and hail! Not only do you have to dress here for four seasons in one day, you also need all the camping gear to cover your ass too! Smashing video!🥵🥶😂😂
Wow Morrisons breakfast !!!!! Agree on the pillow it’s the dogs bits, heavy but I don’t mind the extra weight for the comfort factor !!! Shame you had to bail but it happens !!
You are the only wild camper I watch now. Well apart from Hazey.not only because you are local.but you are unlike all the others, original.and don’t follow the herd.🏕️
Glen Coe is absolutely stunning. I think probably the most atmospheric place I’ve ever been. The mountains looked amazing ❤ It’s very cosy in the Volvo. Good job you had that set up 👍 There is something really depressing about that England sign when you’re coming down the M6 😂
Yea you did well bud, Glencoe an unforgiving place. However, I agree expected summit of Nevis to be the more extreme. Good fun, enjoyed your adventure.
Well done mate, second one of the day for me after your epic on the Ben. Yeah, this one had me in stitches 😂😂. Good choice for bailing out . I reckon that tarp would have blown away and ended up flapping about on the roof of the Clachaig inn! Cheers, Ozzy.
I can't imagine any tarp pitch doing well in those winds. I use basically the same configuration but peg the back straight out but come in one loop and tuck the rear underneath to give a section of groundsheet. This gives a wider but tauter pitch, albeit a little higher. I guyline the back and also the sides, creating guy-out points by tying the guys around a pebble. All that gives the tarp a bit more structural integrity.
The flextail pillow is awesome! Used mine in anger for the first time in Scotland this week, and *super* comfy! Good move on the tactical retreat. I always remind myself that we do this shit for fun, not to endure. And if it tips over from being entertaining to being a slog… time to beat a retreat! Great vids chap. Love em!
Nice vid Liam. You did right, those forecasts are never right for up there. That was way stronger than it said. Next time you go that way let me know if you want a decent canp spot. I have a few. Also check yourself for ticks!!! And your kit. They are a plague up on that weird pillow land. They can stay on you for ages too x
The last time I went to KFC with The Child she was having a go at me saying eating KFC left lots of little chickens orphans! I said 'That's why we get the Family Bucket!' 😂😂 Tarp prob wasn't the right choice in that location with those conditions, the Hille would have eaten that lot up! Enjoyed the vlog though Liam 👍
Really cheered up our Monday evening again Liam. So pleased you got an epic camp on Ben Nevis and that you didn’t get the strong winds you had on this one. Thankfully you had the car to bail to. Did you ever find out about that random drawing pin? 🤔
Can your videos not get any better?! That was a belter and I laughed my head off. Now I need to get more work so I can start buying you some coffee, and buy an SUV as cosy as yours!! Great stuff Liam. Keep 'em coming! 8-)
Great series of vids mate. I did a very similar trip a couple of weeks back as well, an epic summit camp on Buachaille Etive Beag and the next day a complete miss in the Cairngorms. That's what it's all about though, on these adventures you win some you lose some. Keep on trucking!
Know the feeling, sleeping in my hammock when storm + 55MPH winds came through, all I could do was sit in hammock in the rain and pull the tarp over my head, no sleep, nothing I could do but ride it out.
yeah Scotland is wild. good to see you out fella, but it's vicious wind (and mainly rain for last 12 months) ; there is just no respite. Even in my hille a month or so ago I was battered senseless in Wales. I made the same choice - it's better to plan the pack away than have to do it when the shelter fails unexpectedly.
Ey up Liam, cracking video mate, it was certainly a wild one, defo made the right decision getting back to the car. I’ve frequented Morrisons a few times in Fort William and like you can highly recommend the breakfast! It’s mega. Thanks for sharing your Scotland trip with us, all the best, Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴
Good stuff boyo, hazey taken a back seat, nows the time for you to stick in 4x4 mode, get the coast to coast done my fwend.. that’ll boost those ratings👍👍👍
I would have cheked the weather report and had the opening of the tent away from the wind, used the xtra long pegs and had some food before crawling in to my -40c comfort temp sleepingbag and worried about the next day the next day,
Gwane lad I walked 20 miles yesterday done 26 today took a few pictures and tracking routes done of West Pennine way GM ring way and roads 😂 waiting for my forclz mt 900 then can go out firndaysba time maybe film bit's 🤪
Oh Liam you’re an unconscious comedian lol. So funny the way you describe things but well done for giving that a go. I longed to go hiking in Glencoe and it turned out one of the hardest walks ever. I love your videos Liam… you’re so down to earth and always embrace a challenge. Lovely to have you here with us in Scotland. I’ll be in Bradford for a week in September. Can’t wait…. ☺️
Brilliant Scottish series mate, loved watching it, that last one had me in stitches. You certainly made the right call to bail there, your tarp would have been demolished then it truly would have been chaos for you! Think it's great how you go through your thought processes, explain stuff and give advice. Have also bought you a splash of diesel, nice one mate, 👍 Oh, and thank god for fruit platter eh? 😂
Stunning views beautiful Liam, shame it got too windy, I keep showing your videos to my bezzie trying to convince her to try a wild camp, not going to show this one😅 If anyone's not tried the Idaho mash give it a go its bit more expensive but delish 😋
I spotted the graphic on your car that said "clean me", it should have read don't clean me, plant something. The Scottish hate us, in the summer they plague us with midges and ticks, in the winter they send red drawing pins 📌 😜. We need to invent a butter that doesn't melt until you spread it on scran. Ya did right to bail. I've run out of fingers and toes counting you saying bloody fruit platter. Do you actually manage to do anything other than planning, filming, editing and travelling too and fro from Bradford. Did you say dog and bone? Blimey, next it'll be the current's out and the pork's blue 😀. Keep going chucker. Cheers Graham
superb vid once again like the patter dry as gandhi's flip flop lol in glasgow its usually dry as a Arab's sandal keep them coming live two hours from glencoe love the place OH canny whack a zinger ATB ✌️ 🏴

In Australia, a "dogs bollocks" means it's terrible, or messy.
As a professional TH-cam trained armchair wild camping expert I have to say I have never ever ever seen anyone reckless enough to endanger their life by taking
A fruit platter to the hills lol
Love you walked the west highland way because of you.
Thank you 🙌🏻
you have an incredible talent of making really entertaining content out of any situation. respect to you sir
I was up in November for Ben Nevis, amazing place, was due to go back next week but was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, 2 weeks post op and on the mend, keep the content coming mate.
Wishing you a speedy recovery 👍
Keep strong brother,my love is with you👍
So sorry to hear this mate, wishing you a speedy recovery & glad to hear you are on the mend.
Wishing you a good recovery and back on Ben Nevis 👍
Hope you are back out enjoying yourself as soon as possible. Keep your head up mate 👍
I would have done the same as you, except I would have took the tent, especially with snow on ground and all that, but look were you ended up in car which you made for sleeping. Cheers mate 💯👍
I think it's a good job you went back to your car

Aye, the car was a good shout. Tarp in Glencoe in winter wouldn't be my recommendation tbh mate.
Love this area, went recently, the most beautiful sunshine day, drove through it the following morning, could hardly see the mountains. Gotta love Scotland.
Ya!,,de tutti fruitio platterenie birdie num nums!,😊

Thank you mate, I try to keep it simple with the editing but its great when it doesn’t go unnoticed 🙂👍🏼
Love watching your videos

You made the right choice Liam. Great to have a car to fall back on too. Looking forward to the next one mate.
Another reminder of just how stunning Scotland is.. Top Video once again! 👍
Yeah Scotland is the place to be! Can’t wait to go back already!
& Thank you, glad you enjoyed the vid.
Never underestimate Scotland's four seasons in one day. Beautiful spring day then come night, howling gales, relentless rain and hail!
Not only do you have to dress here for four seasons in one day, you also need all the camping gear to cover your ass too!
Smashing video!🥵🥶😂😂
First time I've heard somebody, other than me, use "drier than Ghandi's flip flop" for YEARS!
That vid was brilliant mate.👍🏴🏴💯
Like an episode of Ready Steady Scran 😂
😂😂
Shout out to the fruit platter!
😂😂
Wow Morrisons breakfast !!!!! Agree on the pillow it’s the dogs bits, heavy but I don’t mind the extra weight for the comfort factor !!!

Great choice of sauce with the breakfast , brown sauce all the way great video.
Really enjoying the channel - great content, great sense of humor
Love the Volvo setup. Look forward to the next
Just found your channel. Loving it. Top bloke! 👍🏼👏🏻
Thanks mate!
Welcome back to Scotland, nice one again Liam, Awesome little spot with stunning views. Steve 👍
Deffo right decision. Live to camp another day 😊
Matey, write a book about the 101 ways to use a fruit platter.
I can't imagine any tarp pitch doing well in those winds. "you wouldn't get a lot of gravy with 2 gravy granules" 🤣
😂

I always remind myself that we do this shit for fun, not to endure. And if it tips over from being entertaining to being a slog… time to beat a retreat! Great vids chap. Love em!
Hope you got your flappy back end sorted, nothing worse. Watching you in your car bed made me feel sleepy. Love the content, keep it going.
Top vids, funny AF. Top tip, if ur chair is too high for your shelter or table don't insert the legs and use as a "ground chair" Keep em coming.
Brilliant ! So obvious but never thought about doing that.
@GoodBlokeOutdoors I cut mine off altogether just to save weight. Once you get used to it it's quite comfy.
Plenty of fresh air on that one.
Loved this
Thanks for watching mate
Man, I ate a breakfast there also after my march hike/camp up nevis.....great breakfast...good choice
Enjoyed your mumbo jumbo trip, Liam 🤘
Definitely bailed at the right time. Pity as would have been a nice pitch in good weather. Good thing that car was close by 👍👍
Nice vid Liam. You did right, those forecasts are never right for up there. That was way stronger than it said.

Haha yes mate 🧑🏼🍳 gotta get that mash plug in

@@GoodBlokeOutdoors

Superb. First video I've watched of yours. Loved it. I'd spend half the time on the big if id eaten that much scran!! Great watching.
💯 correct decision to revert to the car my friend. That was bumpy....imagine how mad the tarp would've been.
Always amusing to watch. Brill. Keep them coming. Try clachaig Inn, Glencoe. Always a good stop. 👍
Mad one! Should've put the well advertised platter pineapple into pot noodle 😂
GOOD BLOKE TOP BLOKE 👍, ALWAYS A FEW LAUGHS 😂 .
Loving the car set up
Amazing scenery but a wild camp with the conditions 😮

Makes you wonder how people got on back in the day with no trees in sight for firewood! Where are the trees?😮😅😊 No cover either!
Loving the channel mate.
Thanks mate
Awesome vid 😎 all the food 😋
Should say from someone who lives in the highlands always be prepared for 4 seasons in one day
Another good video mate - thanks from Vietnam !
Spent a lot of time in Bradford recently and it’s been amazing, can’t fault the NHS
No trees.Good clue.

At least you tried!😊
Every time I see someone in a tarp I think "You could have been in a tent, yet you chose violence" 😂
Awesome vid again mate. +1. I'd be interested in a car/van tour of your Volvo setup; looks awesome.
Liam look at that link I posted. It’s a game changer for tarps. The poles go to the side leaving the entire floor free
Like a game of flappy bird!! Love it great vid Liam
