I love being a minimalist because keeping your house clean is a lot easier and simpler. Also moving is much easier and quicker when you don't have a bunch of junk to bring along.

Minimalism lifestyle is the best lifestyle Im doing now and keep doing it. Here are my benifits.
    1. I enjoy living with simple pleasures and appreciating doing simple.
    2. I can handle all my stress about things or anything so Im always happy most of time.
    3. Have a peace of mind with healthy mentally and physically.
Being simple is better than trying to chase what is trends on social media or be into an negative issue but your not into it or trying to add more to impress yourself. Simplicity is happiness.

I think the reason minimalism is so appealing is you get the same amount of joy out of the simple as you get out of constant consuming. Plus, there is the added benefit of still having resources you've acquired.

My husband is an extreme minalist, I have been a hoarder.. And it's taken me 7 years to realize that I don't need to hold on to items.. It hit me one day that I had this vase an ex boyfriend gave me and every time I looked at it I felt emotional.. Once I got rid of it I felt a weight lift and now after 4 years of slowly decluttering I still don't have my husbands clean space BUT I have realized that if a lost it all in a fire today...I need no material items just the safety of my children and family..so I sold it all.. my journey continues.. Thank you for the thoughtful videos and the push to look deeper.. You Rock!!

such a beautifully produced video and sentiment - minimalism is really one of those things that once you dive in, the deeper you go the better you feel and experience the benefits. each level of depth is a personal thing and depends on your lifestyle or situation, but ultimately having less things means having less worries and mental clutter as well as the physical.

It's been awhile since I last commented, but I so love the simplicity (no pun intended) of this video. As I prepare to move from a 700 square foot place to a smaller place your videos have been a constant inspiration for me, with wisdom from past videos filed away in my mind for reference. Thanks for the encouraging and helpful video. I've been a semi minimalst for the past 6 years. I am minimal with most my of personal items, but I am a huge movie lover, ty beanie bear lover and game lover, so I am not minimal with those things. However I'm minimal with everything else and I keep a neat, tidy, and clean apt. It's only 800 feet and I live with my hubby and teenage son who are not minimalst, lol. We make it work and we live comfortably and happy.

Hi Christine :-) - Thank you for this video. It has been very useful to watch your journey and listen to your learnings and perspective. Over the past few years I have been on a similar journey, it is a process and I am seeing what more I can do to be more conscious consumer, to review what I have and find new homes for what no longer serves a purpose. It isn't about just the 'stuff' but the way in which I live my life. I have found the process to be both challenging and freeing. :-)

I have been slowly drifting toward a minimalist lifestyle over the last few years. (After retirement.) So much so, that I did a search, and your video was the first to come up. Over the last few years, I have been disposing of much more than I purchase, and have discovered that there is a certain peace of mind associated with less stuff. I do not worry about the stuff that WAS in my garage, the extra wrist watches that I was not wearing, and the clothes that were covered in plastic.
I noticed in your video, that you have no pictures on the wall. When I last moved I did not hang my old pictures in the new house: some were given away, some were disposed of. However, now I don't have to dust them off. I rather like the bare white walls.
I now have about half the STUFF that I have a few years ago. In the next five years, I expect to have half again as much stuff as I have now.
    Thanks for sharing your video.

You have a beautiful home! I especially like your kitchen and the (birch? beech?) table and chairs.
I'm not ready to call myself a minimalist yet, but decluttering has already made me appreciate more the things I do keep, and understand that things are just things, that things are cheap (maybe too cheap), that we don't need that many things, and that things can be replaced.

Since America seems to be the "leader" in ideas and lifestyle choices, they've influenced the world to chase consumerism. I'm 47 years old and have grown very tired of it. I'm happy to find others on youtube who are influencing society to slow down, and find the quiet path that works for them as an individual. Our Native American cultures thrived on very little. There's no reason that we should follow a materialistic lifestyle just because the Morgan's, Rockefeller's and Rothchid's steered our grandparents in a toxic direction.

I am moving out in march and, one thing I am doing is actually trying minimalism. One thing that is going to benefit that is USB C. Aside from the appliances (Fridge, dryer, cooker, etc...), my router, my 3D printer, and my main desktop PC I can quite literally toss out all other cable and use one USB C cable for my mouse, M1 Macbook Air, my S20 FE, wireless earphones and my two power banks.
I will quite literally be living with minimalism. That and I only get food when I need it. Instead of buying for the whole week.

Lmao I have always gotten anxiety from buying stuff because I can't make a decision, so it's funny to me how for some people not buying stuff is a hard way to live. I guess it is nice, because I hate the empty walls I have in my room, because it reminds me of how bad my decision paralysis is, but with minimalism I can pretend its a conscious choice.

Hi Christine, you inspired me to stop buying disposable plastic pens and now use a metal fountain pen with refillable ink, well, i did have to buy it though lol but it is a one time purchase. I also use stainless steel to keep my lunch instead of plastic which often made the food taste weird and was harder to wash than glass or metal. i'm not a minimalist as I would like yet but decluttering and having a space for everything does make cleaning and organising much easier ;-)

    tips for beginner minimalists:
    1. buy an iPad, you can have a whole library in one book, so you can save a lot of space.
    2. always buy same identical socks. This way you don't waste time finding the twin sock.
    3. buy a wastepaper basket to put in your room; very useful for not making garbage around.
    4. buy a glass bottle, fill it with water and you can drink from it. This way you won't have to take a new glass every time and then wash it.
    5. Change the normal house lights to warm lights, this creates a relaxed atmosphere, useful for concentrating.
    6. Look around and throw anything you think is not really necessary in the trash.
    7. Make a list of all the items you need to take with you on a trip. At the end, with the list in hand, you can do a final check and don't forget anything, both on the way out and on the way back.
    8. buy a comfortable chair. we spend too much time on chairs for work or study for not having one ergonomic and comfortable.

Thanks…, very nice video. Your home seems so nice, so uncluttered. I feel inspired now to start getting rid of most of my JUNK!
I’m just curious…, Does you Australian Shepherd love to play Frisbee too? Every Aussie I’ve ever known sure does! (-:

I am new to your channel and enjoyed this video. Your dog is so cute with its toy. I have 2 dogs (one long-haired like yours) and a cat and I am wondering about best types of rug and of upholstery to simplify what seems like endless and frustrating pet hair. What are your rug and sofa made of and do you find them easy to clean? Thanks.

You are so wise for someone so young! I love listening to you.
Surely you splurge on something, or have a weak spot for something frivolous? Do tell🥰

Thanks Kim 😅I try my best!
I mostly splurge on ceramics, furniture, or clothing from my favorite brands (currently wearing a lot of pieces from Black Crane, I love her designs). But I'm always hesitant and usually wait over a year to buy them, because I get busy and often forget haha!
