I drove the trail four years ago in my Dodge Dakota. Loved the scenery, but lost most of my pictures due to a corrupted sd card. Finished the trip at Max Patch. A few locals seemed to be surprised that the stock Dakota made it through. I would enjoy going back. I enjoyed your video.
That’s awesome! Love the ol Dakotas. 5.7 right? Anytime up that way, I’d meet up to ride again. I was up that way this weekend but rode Buzzards Roost area and around Maggie Valley. Just message us next time your around the area, and we can see if we’re up that way!
@@AllenAdventures4x4 Actually it's a '96 square body w/5.2. Toughest truck I've owned, so far. I don't baby it.
Nice! I just completed that trail right in FULL PEAK colors back in October and filmed for my little new channel jeepNdirt titled "No camping overlanding". That was my first time there and WOW what a great fun little trail.

Nice rig. Great that you have your daughter out driving the trail. Our daughter went to Ouray/Silverton/Telluride with us in the Jeep one year and to Moab, among a lot of other places one year. She wasn’t much into the driving but sure enjoyed the scenery. What front bumper are you running? I just went with factor JL steel but removed the end caps...
Incredible! We are going out that way and to Moab at the end of June 2023!
It will be our first time out west with the Jeeps!
Yes excited my daughter came along. She’s getting the feel for it and wanting to do more trips!
This front bumper is the ARB full deluxe. We have a couple videos up that we have of a full walk around in detail! I would encourage you to check those out as well!
Thanks for taking the time to comment! We appreciate it!
@@AllenAdventures4x4 You will love wheeling out that way. We wen 10 yrs in a row. Expanding our coverage of the west from Glacier NP down to Crown King. Did some of the trails around Sedona. Haven’t been able to get back out there since Covid plus I have a old and ailing mother to see after.... Hopefully again in 2023.....
@@mikerobbins5049 If you out around the same time, we can link up for a trail ride! Check out our Instagram/Facebook page for our current schedule!
@@AllenAdventures4x4 Linking up and doing a trail together would be great. We usually go in mid Sept as it's cooler and less traffic. Check out Outlaw923 on TH-cam. He's in Co He and his lovely wife were traveling thru Ky back in the summer and we met up for lunch
What compressor are you using ?
Arb duel with extra tank
Is this ok for a beginner to go on?
Yes but I wouldn’t recommend a stock vehicle. I have seen them go through, but not without from slight damage. I would at least recommend 35s and wouldn’t hurt for a 2.5 lift or greater. I hope this helps!
@@AllenAdventures4x4 4.5 inches of lift and 33s just eats up here.
I took my factory 2007 sequoia with 31.7" street tires(less than half tread) a few weeks back. I had no problems. I actually went with a Rubicon Gladiator. It had more issues with ground clearance since they have long wheelbase. Just air down, and go slow. There are about 5 spots where it definitely helps to have a spotter.
What mapping was that? OnX?
It was Gaia GPS. I use that on my Pad, then I use On X on the Stinger Heigh 10. Lastly use my phone for regular nav.
So no damage to the trail from the fires in that area?
We didn’t see any! An incredible day with great weather! Creek crossing were low. We have been through before with much higher water crossings. Still always a great trail!
@@AllenAdventures4x4 absolutely it is!
