I also would consider myself a doll collector over a reborn collector. I have authentic reborn, fake reborn, Barbie’s, LOL dolls, Amazon dolls, Temu dolls, BJD dolls, porcelain dolls, lol you name it. The BJD dolls community is toxic too. I got banned on the subreddit for posting an Ali express kit that I was asking a question about. They just go from 0 to 100. I’m not paying thousands of dollars to be accepted in a community lol. I understand why they are this way but it deters people with interest to join.
I’m not going to go on and on because I have Covid and feel awful but I support ALL dolls and ALL collectors. Like I’ve told many people, I have antique replicas (yes, they made them over 100 years ago and do to this day) and nobody in that community CARES. The replicas are admired for their craftsmanship, beauty and close resemblance to the authentic dolls. Replicas are NOTHING NEW. And even my 60 year old replica isn’t frowned upon in the vintage doll community. What these immature witches don’t realize that is, in the long run, IT DOESN’T MATTER. ‘Nuff said. I was on Facebook earlier today and saw a post from one of my friends that has a TH-cam channel and a doll page on FB. She shared screenshots of things being said about her and the attack she is now enduring. This crap has went to a whole new level and frankly I believe it to be complete and utter nonsense!😒🙄

I had one guy on another channel say I wasn't a real collector because I have more than just reborns. Excuse me. What? Rolls eyes. I left his channel, needless to say. I have been hesitant to purchase an authentic reborn because of how delicate they are and I like playing with my dolls. I'm still unsure if I want the real thing or want to just stay with the Amazon, Ashton Drake and Paradise Galleries dolls. My first reborn is about 9-10 yrs old now. I interact with my reborns as much as I do my replica or vintage dolls. She looks as she did the day I opened her box. Same for all my other reborns. I took my time & did research before purchases. I'd see a listing & then go see if the artist had a youtube channel or some such....more often than not, I'd even get to watch videos or look at photos of the baby I wanted to buy being made. They aren't (or shouldn't be) as "fragile" as many people act like they are. The only thing I'm careful about is making sure clothing doesn't fit too tight. 🙂

Some grown people are stuck in their mean girl days of junior high school . They’re in this hobby for the WRONG reason . They don’t enjoy the reborns they have spent so much money on . They use them for bragging rights and to feel smug and superior .it’s actually pathetic . I feel sorry for them .

We have become much more divided on so many things: race, religion, women's health care, immigration, voting rights, support for sovereign countries being invaded, wealth and privilege, wealth and legal immunity, who can have a gun and what kind of guns... this is more of that spilling out and spreading hate and intolerance and exclusion and is a sign of our society ... its very troubling and should bother us all

Its terrible what the people at that show have done. They say its all about the sculptors and the artists but I think elitism plays a big part too. I have heard it said that if you can't afford authentic then you can't afford the hobby at all. That is so sad as these dolls are therapy for a lot of people. I just started this hobby w/reborn dolls. I restore vintage barbie dolls. I bought one expensive artist done baby and 2 much cheaper dolls. I have always loved improving my doll and fixing their clothes. The expensive one, I will not touch, for obvious reasons. The one from Amazon, I am already thinking I want to take her apart and weight her, add a heart beat, add baby scent, and loosen the ties a little so she is more flexible. This is all part of the fun. No way I would do this to a doll that is costing hundreds of dollars. (The Barbie community isn't like that.) The dolls belong to me and I will collect them the way I want.
I really enjoy your videos. I recently bought my first two baby doll replicas. I may get one or two more but they will be replicas also. I rock them and play with them. They make me happy just looking at them. I can't imagin why anyone would want to hurt someone over whether we own replicas or authentics. They should only be thinking how much joy the dolls can bring not only to older people like me but to people of all ages. I have loved dolls all my life and will continue to love them. I don’t really understand why people are so mean. I chose not to have Facebook. If people really comprehended how short life is you wouldn’t want to be remembered as being that kind of person. It’s not just the dolly world, sadly people are kind of mean in general. A random lady at the grocery store yelled at me to get out of her way. I guess I didn’t move my basket fast enough. It was crowded but that behavior wasn’t nice. Just stick with the people who love you and are nice. Don’t let the mean ones steal your joy. Life is too short for that too.❤
I think to each their own there has always been replicas of different types of dolls forever. I do not care what people choose to collect that is their business. And if I see a doll whether reborned or one that is a replica I would buy it. Dolls are dolls to me if they bring that person happiness then they can have what they want. These people remind me of stuck up people that do not want to associate with others for certain reason. So let them who needs them. I do not have any videos up as I do not have the time. I collect all types of dolls. I am a care giver work 10hrs per day every day unless the family comes into town to see their Mom which is not often. So my time at home is not much. But I can watch everyone's videos here. Great video :)

There's always cattiness in community groups that compete. I will admit I have two artist made reborn dolls but as I've said before. Everyone should be able to have a reborn doll if they want one however they are super expensive so innocent people go for the next best thing or are just comfortable with collecting the replicas however, there have been illegal copies of certain kits being sold and it's all.. "how dare they steal our copyright etc etc.." and their own work feels threatened and they also don't want potential buyers seeing bad "examples" of what people think a reborn is. I collect all types of dolls. I am a care giver work 10hrs per day every day unless the family comes into town to see their Mom which is not often. So my time at home is not much. Now that's not nice... That's really ugly behaviour from them. I'm so sorry this is going on. It's dolls of the world not authentic handmade reborn dolls of the world. There's always cattiness in community groups that compete. I will admit I have two artist made reborn dolls but as I've said before. Everyone should be able to have a reborn doll if they want one however they are super expensive so innocent people go for the next best thing or are just comfortable with collecting the replicas however, there have been illegal copies of certain kits being sold and it's all.. "how dare they steal our copyright etc etc.." and their own work feels threatened and they also don't want potential buyers seeing bad "examples" of what people think a reborn is. I understand where they coming from but too exclude people like bitchy high-school queenbees is appalling

To me, it's just childish, petty, and very unkind. Nobody should be bullied or ostracized. Im like you, I love all dolls. Every one is special in their own way. Be it preference, finances, or maybe even a nostalgic reason, people should be able to buy, collect, create, and even sell what they like. The whole situation about it is very sad everyone can’t afford to buy expensive dolls . They don’t know people financial situation some people have children, that want everything under the sun. Plenty of other really nice doll shows around that aren't reborn specific but often reborn artists are there as vendors. A google search might help you find one so you could still do it around your birthday.....never know.
