Oh Boy, what an album! This album came out the same time as I discovered this awesome band. And not long after just finding out about their music, me and my friend went and saw them live. 2012, what a year! I could ramble on about this.
Anyway, I really wanted to do this album justice, even though it is just a shitpost, and tried to treat every song with...eh...respect, to the best of my abilities. I'm working with n64 sounds...it do be what it is.

34:14 is the most intimidating piece of audio I've ever heard.
Hearing Meshuggah's music in this form makes me notice and appreciate even more aspects to their sound and incredible writing.
an 8-bit version of the Red Chord album Prey for Eyes is what I credit with opening me to experimental music, because it literally just paints the whole picture, so awesome. and an awesome tool for people who dont "like metal" to hear the good stuff

Thanks! I spent some time mixing it, thought it would sound better with some stereo guitars and whatnot instead of having one guitar with reverb. It might not be true to the Mario soundtrack, but more true to the meshuggah sound

it's difficult to articulate and it feels silly but there's something about I Am Colossus like this that I find truly in my bones unsettling

This is genuinely very fucking good. A lot of these sound font mixes are just people trying to capitalise on demand by bashing stuff out in like 5 mins but this is really well put together.

the ironic thing is that the original sounds like it is heavily inspired by the Motherbrain music from Super Metroid (even though it probably isn't, the resemblance is uncanny).
It's almost as if this album was made to be heard this way, feels so fresh and new, yet so nostalgic and fun!
Also I think is probably the best 64 Soundfont adaptation I've heard. This and Catch 33.
