Love that version of the Kool Kombi. I never found the STH version, but That basic one was my first Kool Kombi purchased at a Swap Meet. Also one of my first renovations. I actually added the headlights to mine like the STH would have. Really loving the legends Tour version. We love our pink cars, and spectra pink even more. Or Magenta if you wanna get technical. Looks even better out of the blister. Now I gotta go hunt me down two of them. Thanx for the showcase.
I paid $70 for one on the secondary market, because I really wanted it. Failing to realize I could have gotten it on their website, during live events for $35 each! But it is what it is. Besides I was helping a local die-cast shop owner, so the extra $35 I will chart down as a donation to the cause.
BTW I also bought 1 just in case but I will be attending my first ever Legends event in 2 weeks as these events did not occur when I last collected. My armed security team is ready to attend with me and protect me in the event this get out of control with the crazy animals we are expecting to attend.

Secondly if you haven’t watched any of the videos of the fights that break out when the free cars are dumped into the bins then I encourage you to do so. It’s gotten so bad at these events that they have had to set up separate areas for the kids cause the animals were crushing the kids. And let’s not forget these are kids toys. Being that I am handicapped I will surely be weary of the free for all when the free cars are dumped into the bins and will not be joining the Diecast mosh pit. Hope this satisfies your inquiry.
Not only do people not have issues getting these but the scalpers usually get stuck with a ton of them and usually end up having to sell at less than purchase price. Based on my crude calculations with the number of weekend events, estimated attendees, estimated purchases and then online sales I figure it must be 100k plus at release. Could be as high as half a million.
Got 2 Skylines & 2 Silverados from the website. Was let down by the Skylines when I received them saw that they had plastic bases & never opened them because I disliked them so much that I wanted to sell them. The Silverados are really nice though. I got the 510 wagon at a decent price at a swap meet to go with the STH version & all versions that represent Jun Imai's car. The one I really wanted though, more than the ones I have, is the zamac Boss 302 that I originally thought was going to be a 20 mail in, but ended up being a 20 car Walmart purchase the day of the legends event at that particular Walmart. It was never sold at the online store as far as I know. Wish they would sell these at Mattel Creations as there has never been a legends event within reasonable distance to me.
Yeah the zamac Collector editions are never a mail in, only currently available via the Legends tour truck. In the past it was a vending machine or a spin the wheel to see “if” you got one. Have not attended in a while. And since they are STH recolors they have plastic bases like the originals.
@@deescustoms - I didn't know that about the zamac cars and when I purchased the skylines I wasn't aware that they were just recolors of STHs but I should have known that because I already had the 510 wagon. Thanks for the info
Yes car culture is getting stale. I’m not picking up either set( maybe that corolla). Boulevard blows these out of the water,,, easily. Just a better choice of cars.

Yeah, the pink kombi does have tail lights.
The Kombi and pin are $48 not $30. Also, you can only purchase 1 per transaction so hot wheels screws anyone wanting 2 or more @ $48 each transaction!
