We have nothing similar in language, food, or clothing. Cambodia claims Thai culture but they don't know how it's produced, they can only buy it from Thailand. Each piece of Thai fabric has a different pattern and name of the fabric pattern. Cambodia never knows what kind of weave it is.

When Cambodian saw "Jubbing" (Bikini for rich child which is made of gold/silver in triangle-net or leaf shaped in Ayutthaya Period) in thai movie. They spread numerous false information and consistently disparage Thailand without considering that, once upon a time, Thailand assisted many Cambodians fleeing genocide, even when our country was not affluent. We helped out of human decency, not seeking their gratitude. However, their current actions make it difficult for the Thai people to accept.

Cambodians have been living in Southeast Asia for a longer period of time, hence why they're darker on average and have acclimatized themselves to the Southeast Asian climate. other REAL SOUTHEAST ASIANS such as the Indonesians often say Cambodian look more similar to them compared to Thais(who are more likey to resemble Chinese(on average)

Thirty years ago, I worked as a volunteer in a Cambodian camp in Site 2 in Thailand. I never saw Cambodians wearing a sabai dress for their National Day or on other important days at all.
