Maryke - I've watched so many of your videos now and I have to say - you really explain things thoroughly and give so much useful information. Thank you so much for making these videos - they are really helpful and you come across so well! Keep up the fab work. Could you possibly look at doing some videos on back spasms please. Thank you!

HEAT seems to work best for me thought I use massage when it feels better to do so. Sometimes just resting my foot on a tennis ball is all it takes. The higher the heat the better, 110ºF seems to be about all I can take. It works for shin splints as well. The spiky ball is too much for me unless I'm wearing a sock. I guess it's a "tickle factor" thing (too much sensation)

Thank you for sharing. Just be careful with very high heat - it can actually cause tissue damage. Best wishes for your recovery.

Hi I got that issue in my booth feet from jumping on the concrete without shoes. What helped me a lot was small 500ml water bottle frozen I was rolling under my feet 3 times a day for about 10 minutes and comfortable running shoes with nice cousin 😊

This condition is horrible. I'm 3 months out from a tear in the medial PF. Swelling will not go away and the nerve is perpetually compressed 24/7. I've been told the swelling could last 6-12 months. I'm ready to just go get surgery. Any chance physical therapy can reduce swelling and remodel thickened scar tissue? The literature is split on it.

Gentle physiotherapy (so not digging in with fingers but comfortably uncomfortable) can help reduce pain and swelling but the success varies between people. It sounds as if you've run out of options so it is something I would try for at least 4 weeks and then assess the outcome. I'm not convinced that anything a physio does with their hands or machines remodels scar tissue (loading through exercise and stretch does) but I think you can benefit from the effect on pain and swelling.
