This series is like the grand tour: you once discovered it because you like cars, but you keep watching it because the presenters have that chemistry and you know they just love doing this format together. May you never run out of cars and houses to showcase.
We are so glad we were able to start filming the interiors of these gorgeous homes. You will see them in many more episodes to come, thanks to the hospitality of the owners.
@@AudrainMuseumNetworkI have no words to explain how much I love and need this show. 2 intelligent and funny men talking cars and houses. I am happy to be alive. ❤
I had a TR4 A with a Surrey top. It not only had the removable hard top it also had a foldable canvas top you could keep in the trunk in case of rain. God, I miss this car!
Wow. A TR5. Never heard of it. My favorite roadster is a TR6 since childhood. Surry top. Cool. Now I know you two like Triumphs. 57 conv. Beautiful red. Nice. Right hand drive Delahaye. Wow didn't know these were like this. Stunning interior. Beautiful French car for once. Like this episode best. Thanks gents. ❤❤👍😘🤑😎
My wife’s cousin, Edie Yeomans, once asked me “how would you best present your Mazda, MX 5 for sale”? My response; “I would have Donald Osborne photographed sitting in the car”! She let out such a laugh!
18:47 Donald, there is an amazing book titled "Bugatti" by The Cleveland Museum of Art. Features the stunning furniture made by the Bugatti Family and their movement into coach building and automobiles. This is a must buy for Jay.
Regarding Donald’s comment about the one & a half lane roads in England - I was there a few years ago and when I saw these tiny country lanes encompassed by hedgerows, my first thought was that head-on accidents must happen all the time. But no, the British drivers just seem to know how to handle it! They look down the road for approaching traffic and there are little pullover spots where they yield to the other driver. And wave more often than not. I was quite impressed.
I enjoy every one of these episodes. The back and forth banter between these two is great. Faxon Lodge as a dormitory.... images of the Animal House movie Toga Party spilling Jagermeister on 18th century French furniture...
Good evening Gentlemen ! Jay. I'm slightly surprised you seemed to be be slightly underwhelmed by the TR5 , a sub 8 second 0 to 60 motor , and for me a beautifully smooth straight 6 . The fastest accelerating car of all the TR's . Today, I had to carefully explain to a number of classic car fans that not all TR4' A 's were l.R.S due to there dislike in North America . And by definition this was a house that you genuinely showed true interest in . Thankyou Jay , and Donald , your patience is admirable !
Another superb video from donald and Jay love the vintage cars 🚗 and they way donald and Jay talk about the history of the car it's priceless keep up the good work kev from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
The 57 Chevy is a California made model their driving. It has the Safety one piece solid front bumper. It's also made with 3 sections in other states. Great cruise rides and classic type life styles from the times long ago. Thanks Donald and Jay.
I'm so glad you got to film the house interiors , Everything fits together with the cars and period of the time. I can't wait for the next season series .. Donald and Jay are amazing 🙏🙏💯💯💕💕
"Cozy wood environment". That's my thing too, Jay. Elegant, yet comfy and pleasing to the eye. And Donald, Henri Chapron is one of my top fave coach builders as well. It was a Chapron field day at Pebble about 7 or 8 years ago. Needless to say, my pick of the 3 cars is the Delahaye.
Great House, Great Cars. Good Men! I would have never guessed that the French would build a rh drive car. Their friendship with the Brits, was tenuous at best back then.
The cotal gearbox in the delahaye is definitely a strange box to get used to. Its an electromagnetic planetary. It has more in common with a model t box, than a conventional gearbox. Fun to drive though!
Another fun ride with the gentrified Laurel and Hardy of style in cars and homes. I have to mention that I only recently realized that the TR4A had irs with leaf springs, which probably explains why it wasn't so good.
The Surrey top was England‘s answer to the Targa. Reminds of the 3 position convertible‘s of the thirties in Lagonda LG6 , Triumph Southern Cross and Triumph Dolomite 1937..
As I recall, being 77 and actually there at the time, the IRS Triumphs had a reputation of being squirrelly in corners. There were fixes though. A stabilizing transverse leaf spring I think.
Many years ago when I was in the auto body business, one of these rare fuel injected Triumphs came to my shop for suspension related repairs. I owned a TR6 at the time and was surprised by the improved performance of the FI model.
French Fries originated in Belgium (although some make a weak case for France). Should have jumped into a Minerva vs a Chevy.... Another well filmed and entertaining video. Tonight we will toast Ogden Codman, wherever he may be.
I can personally vouch that the triumph TR 4 with the solid axle was a great car. I liked the independent suspension and style of the TR 6 better, and had a lot of fun in both.
When Jay talked about the RollsRoyce with the manual gearbox in 1951, I thought about a book that I read there was a 1946 Invicta Black Prince with a twospeed hydraulic shifting system, the company was bankrupt by 1948. The car presented is still in India in the garage of a maharaja…
beautiful show( we enjoy new roads and places you guys drive through) and house...unfortunately some of the fixed car cameras seem to have a film of sunprotector creme on it, not the best sharpness
Delahaye passed away as a daughter of a holding which included Hotchkiss the car with two crosses cannons On-The-Go top . Hotchkiss passed away producing American military General purpose vehicles between 1951 and 1958… The M72 …
Actually, french fries are Belgian. The American thing about it is, calling them french and putting ketchup on it - because the original recipe is with mayonnaise! 😄
Even a 4-door 1957 Chevy Bel Air are expensive . My white father had a 1967 Chevy Bel Air black with a black silver interior. The 256 the two-speed powerglide
The well dressed dude is like, "The kind of tea they would serve in these parlors was inspiring" and Jay is like "Yea that's nice, wears the bathroom. I need to take a deuce......lol Jay could care less about any houses.
Delahayes are works of art. But the one they drive here is RUINED by its GOD AWFUL exterior gray color, which does not look like a paint job at all, just some primer, WAITING to be painted..
If you ever do videos with Jay Leno again, you must insist that he put on a suit. You’re such a sharp dresser, it looks like you’re driving a real bum around! I’m sure you can give him some pointers before he leaves. California. He shouldn’t mimic you, naturally, he should do his own style but not how he dresses in the other videos. Cheers!

I love that you show the interior on this one. Please do that more!!!
We are so glad we were able to start filming the interiors of these gorgeous homes. You will see them in many more episodes to come, thanks to the hospitality of the owners.
Wonderful just wonderful, the hosts, the cars and those gorgeous homes, thank you

Nice to see Triumph getting some love. Great episode. Thanks
Be nice to see an exhibit of ads from magazines like the MG MItten Co, they had great graphics.

The Triumph TR6 was coachbuilt at Karmann in Germany at least for German market and maybe more?
You two are the best at critiquing awesome cars that I would love to drive but never will be able to...
My wife’s cousin, Edie Yeomans, once asked me “how would you best present your Mazda, MX 5 for sale”? My response; “I would have Donald Osborne photographed sitting in the car”! She let out such a laugh!
That was a lot of fun gentlemen, great cars and a really cool house, thanks!
18:47 Donald, there is an amazing book titled "Bugatti" by The Cleveland Museum of Art. Features the stunning furniture made by the Bugatti Family and their movement into coach building and automobiles. This is a must buy for Jay.
What a lovely car that Triumph is, super condition
I love Donald and Jay together . I can watch and listen to them all Love Rick and Susan White 🤍🤍🤍
The odd couple except for their equal knowledge of cars. This channel deserves 10X the amount of subscribers.
Thank you very much! We are getting there!
These are great (Wonderful)
Boy do you have your hands full with Jay. Love it.
Donald and Jay are magic!
I'd love to drive that 130 horse Delehaye. Beautiful car.
Thanks for taking us on a tour of the inside of that lodge.👍
I'd love to see a buddy comedy staring these two racing across the country in antiques
Great video, 👍

Great editing!!! Appreciate the overlays of the cars that they talk about!
Bravo - great episode and great season.

I've never been a Chevy fan. I probably never will be a Chevy fan. But I can attest that by the mid-1980s, the 57 Chevy was already a national icon.
Another superb video from donald and Jay love the vintage cars 🚗 and they way donald and Jay talk about the history of the car it's priceless keep up the good work kev from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
I agree. I love the pre WWII LOOK
Love the drone footage of the car. I had a TR6 in England in the 1970's, mimosa yellow.
That was a fun episode. The connection was more than tenuous this time. The drone views were terrific.
Wow 😲 what a great home 🏡
Country House for the Weekend?!?😮Wow what a retreat 😊
The 57 Chevy is a California made model their driving. It has the Safety one piece solid front bumper. It's also made with 3 sections in other states. Great cruise rides and classic type life styles from the times long ago. Thanks Donald and Jay.
True automotive and cultural historians!
Thought I knew every model after TR 3. Did not know of the TR 5. Very cool!
Jay you crack me up!
So looking forward too seeing these two Fames in person at Audrain
Hello. Can we buy an Osborne signature bow tie?
You can! Follow the link below:

BTW, excellent summation
"Cozy wood environment". That's my thing too, Jay. Elegant, yet comfy and pleasing to the eye.

This car looks much better (in my opinion) from the view of the drone than from the front or side.
Bon Apetit👍
Great House,
Great Cars.
Good Men!

“A tenuous connection.” I’m not quite sure if the connection between these two guys is tenuous, but it certainly is humorous and entertaining.
Another fun ride with the gentrified Laurel and Hardy of style in cars and homes. I have to mention that I only recently realized that the TR4A had irs with leaf springs, which probably explains why it wasn't so good.

What, no mention of the American market TR5, the TR250? Kas Kastner told me it was his favorite Triumph.
I’d like to see Jay and Donald driving in an MG RV8 or MGB GT V8.
There was also the TR-250. My brother-in-law had a TR-250 which was what Triumph sold in the US. It had Carburetors
Wow such a large steering wheel 😊
Frickin’ Jay. Always so funny.
Jay and Donald should do a sitcom of some kind. Something car related of course
Wow white blazer 😊
beautiful show( we enjoy new roads and places you guys drive through) and house...unfortunately some of the fixed car cameras seem to have a film of sunprotector creme on it, not the best sharpness
Have u ever had an Opel Kadette? I did some years ago and sadly recked it but is one of my favorite cars...wouldn’t u evaluate one?
Delahaye passed away as a daughter of a holding which included Hotchkiss the car with two crosses cannons On-The-Go top . Hotchkiss passed away producing American military General purpose vehicles between 1951 and 1958… The M72 …
Jay- “Look at that ceiling. Oh my God. (In his mind. When are we getting back to cars).
Just fantastic script, production & of course cars, if Mr Donald gets to finish a sentence....
Actually, french fries are Belgian. The American thing about it is, calling them french and putting ketchup on it - because the original recipe is with mayonnaise! 😄
Very nice pictures and stunning cars, especially the Delahaye
But: Renault is NOT part of Stelantis
Even a 4-door 1957 Chevy Bel Air are expensive . My white father had a 1967 Chevy Bel Air black with a black silver interior. The 256 the two-speed powerglide
E.M Esher vibes on the table
But Donald, how can you dis Chevrolet's proprietary "Oquadra-Poise" suspension? ;-)
Ya such character
I think it's time for Donald to take a trip West and check out Jays automobiles and Classic California homes of timeless style. Just sayin'.
Home tour show.
Jay I like how you are poking Donald's bubble on the insipid Delahaye.
The well dressed dude is like, "The kind of tea they would serve in these parlors was inspiring" and Jay is like
"Yea that's nice, wears the bathroom. I need to take a deuce......lol
Jay could care less about any houses.
👨🏽💻👍🏽
I't's PIZZA time, when we get to see Donald eat pizza and get tomato sauce on his shirt.
Ogden Codman
French fries, as American as apple pie. ;)
So the ceilings got painted white. It's interesting how people feel the need to make things bland.
1/2 the population couldn't identify a '57 Chevrolet, nor cares. That's why their sales prices have softened. Same goes for Dinah Shore.
It’s not a roadster.
Frank Sturgis and the like, they’re talking high society. Fortunes made on the backs of poor working class people.
Love these videos but you need some new music...maybe some Coltrane.
RON PAUL 2024

I think Donald Osborne has forgotten more about automotive history than most of will ever hope to know. The man is a walking encyclopedia.
