Osborne really lights up driving that Porsche. Nice
"Mansions and Motorcars" The person that first envisioned this series is an entertainment genius..
I don’t care what they’re driving, these two together are such a joy! Ok just watched again. Wish I knew you both personally, we’d have such fun!
Jay Leno & Donald Osbourne make a great pair. I could listen to these guys talk cars & motorcycles all day.
Love Donald's Lily Pulitzer trousers!
Enjoying a conversation while driving a car that he's not entirely familiar with, Jay executes a beautiful 3-2 down shift at 4:52. This man knows how to drive!
The best part for me is hearing those personal stories that Jay shares of his local SoCal community of owners, mechanics and enthusiasts with their cars. You can Google the automotive history of any marquee but it’s those personal stories of men and their machines that always gets me
4-3 A masterful video. Great story by Jay & Donald with their knowledge of the wonderful Porche line. I loved it!
I could not help but chuckle as you two spoke of the Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone and Ansel Adams "camping" expeditions. Ford was proud of humble beginnings and what he saw as his connection to the "common man". That must be the reason they employed several dozen "common men" to chauffer them and several truckloads of gear to their destination, set up "camp", cook their meals, tend to their wardrobes, AND film the entire travelling circus for posterity. In addition to autos, electricity, and tires... They THE were pioneer "Glampers"!
Some related trivia... The youngest grandson of Henry Ford and son of Edsel was the late William Clay Ford. He married the granddaughter of Harvey Firestone and daughter of Harvey II. Their oldest son William Clay Ford II is the present Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company. Family connections do indeed matter!
The two are great "car guys" together.
This series shows one thing clearly . If you study any one thing enough you wind up studying everything . Good way for non students to learn.
Brilliant gents!
Donald - Shocking! You missed the most obvious tenuous connection …
Just as both Porsche and Corvette owners have immense connections to their cars
Audrain viewers and fans have an even stronger connection to your content and videos here🦊
Thanks for the support!
Don, secretly Jay wishes he could sing as beautiful as you ♥️
Two Great Men!!
The engine bearing story rang true ,remembering rebuilding my 4 speed toploader transmission, need to concentrate!
So happy you’re ok Jay! 🎉 You’re a national treasure. ❤ 🙏🏼
Wow, you can easily tell how much these guys enjoying the drives. Was there a house involved as well? The drives on this were far longer than any other episodes. The smiles were bigger too
Love the hedges in front of the homes!
Guys I love you with those episodes about special cars and houses, which speaks of history! And you two make those stories even more interesting, because you two know how two to tell the story in the right way!😉✊🏼
It's the mid 80s G series that occupy the automotive sweet spot for me. The impression made on me in my youth doesn't fade.
I remember watching it back in 2006 when Jay spunned out and he went back pushing it harder
In '91 Footwork Arrows [formerly Arrows Grand Prix International] secured a deal to race with Porsche V12 engines, but the car was woefully uncompetitive. The engine was overweight & underpowered & Porsche pulled the plug. The Porsche V10 was secretly for Footwork in '92, but later shelved, as Footwork switched to Ford V8's. The engine was resurrected for the Le Mans prototype, but canceled again in mid-'99, mostly due to Porsche's wish to build the Cayenne SUV. Porsche than used the V10 in a Carrera GT concept car at the 2000 Paris Motor Show. An influx of revenue from Cayenne helped Porsche decide to produce the [1270] Carrera GT's in 2004/5.
The kind of records they give to celebrities to break…this is why we love Jay and his realist attitude. Thank you
Great to see the 356 Carerra 2 - but I do love the Carerra GT that V10 is just glorious!
That was a lot of fun you guys, great wheels and a hovel with a view!
Two great car guys, glad Jays ok
Grin inducing drive , Donald love your descriptions.
My favorite mansion on the Cliff Walk
Good show, really enjoyed the prestige. The Porsches were amazing. The condition of them is commendable.
Thanks .. Great video .
Glad you liked it! Have you seen the latest episode of Mansions & Motorcars? Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/br_DtO4KOLs/w-d-xo.html
I love these ultimate car guys: Donald mentions one of the four-cam 356 Carrera 2 expert mechanics, and Jay knows the other one.
Was actually at the Porsche R&D facility, in Weisach, when the Carrera GT was under final development.
All 3 cars are super cool 😎 and each has their own special character and place in automotive history.
The house is nothing short of spectacular. Really want to go to Newport now.

The intro: a modern day odd couple
Love your Show.
Such a great channel - I can calm down, enjoy and learn something - where else would you get that? Unique combo with Donald and Jay! Thank you - ah yes the G Model Porsche is a great car, legend - the Carrera GT would be my dream dream car, made of unattainium
Ahhh. Porsche Paradise. Love these two gentlemen. Magnificent auto journalism. These guys are the best in the business. Jay almost bit the big one in that last car. Very dangerous car. Just ask Paul Walker. Keep working guys.😁😎😎😍😃😉
Fantastic auto... having one really helps your retirement.
It's the first time in all the years I been watching Mr Osborne that I dont like his outfit!(well,in fact, only the trousers, but, what a trousers...).Doesn't mind,Donald, you're a badass!
Great history. Love it. Thanks for these. Well done.
Thank you , Jay & Donald
2 thumbs up great episode
A distinguishing feature of the Carrera 2 is a large oil cooler in the front wheel well protected by a swiss cheese metal screen, not found on any other 356
I've had the pleasure of sitting in the drivers seat of a Carrera GT. It is so rare out here (Australia) that this one was in a car museum. Just wish I had a chance to be in one on the road!
Thanks Gentlemen
The car that got hit by a vulture was driven by Karl Kling, not Fitch. Fitch drove the sole open Mercedes-Benz.
Donald is the man with the fanciest of pants.
BZZZZZZZZ, UR DRIVER'S DOOR IS AJAR
Donald Osborne is a walking encopedia!
Jay and Donald should do a show where Donald dresses uber casual and Jay in a suit and bowtie!
50:05
What do they say about mechanics??
nice show, although this time I don't get the "tenuous connection" to 3 Porsche, especially the last Carrera GT.The cars should have at least a logic link to the mansions visited, in style, in heritage, in design
PJs bottom🤣🤣🤣
My small nit pick is you gentleman shouldn't film a road test on Recycling Day
wiith all the blue recycling bins lining your route.
Beautiful Porsche 👍💚✌️
13:20 “Porsh”. Jay, how could you?!
I have always bought vw and audi but I will get a Porsche in this life or the next 😊😂
Good luck. I recently went into my local dealer and when I asked about 911 availability, he laughed out loud and said “if you give us a deposit, delivery is running about 24 months.”
There was a Ford Lightning behind you men.
So jay was your accident yours or porche
Jays wearing a polo shirt....im shocked
Kevin Estre would appreciate Jays remarks on the nuisance of driving a Porsche effectively.
Strange to see Jay in a Polo shirt, he Always wears the long sleeve denim shirt.
CGT will bight your head of, if you don’t treat as it should’ve been treated! Race car DNA for the road use, demands driving skill and proper maintenance 🧑🔧
You guys love to fill your mind and your audience's mind with minutiae instead of filling your heart with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Impossible to say exactly what is in Jay's and Donald's hearts in terms of their Christian views. This is an automotive program, why would you expect religious content?
Allah is great and Mohammed is His Prophet.
@@garryferrington811 then how is it that Jesus Christ fulfilled more than 350 prophecies from the old testament? The Bible says in Galatians 1:18 that if anyone, including a so-called prophet, comes along and preaches another gospel, they are to be accursed. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me" (John 14:6). Jesus died for your sins. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of all who believe in Him.
In Australia it's pronounced Poorsh but we're not as fancy as youse, we go to Maccas for Fillit of Fish not Fillay of Fish. Everyone knows the is no such thing as a Sanity Clause
That was very funny when Chico Marx said it.
God drives a Porsche 992 Turbo S because she doesn't have time for charging.😂
Wind that thing out Jay😅
Worst episode of the series if you don't like Porsches but then again probably the best if you do like them. Would have preferred more variety in the cars.
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
There is a video of Leno out there with him losing the car in a couple of 360`s and I bet he had to change his underwear but he didn`t hit anything.
All vintage cars suspensions, especailly old Mercedes -lose structural integrity over time due to gravity .
Is it just me, or does it sound like this car isn't quite... running correctly??
It's just running rich. The backfire is unburned fuel popping off in the exhaust. Better rich than lean for the engine's sake.
2 ads every 90 seconds! Utube sux....
Jay bought someone a 90k mile Corvette? Nice gesture, just seems odd that a guy with a $600M net worth wouldn’t just spring for something a bit nicer 🤔
My mom's 87 SC had a 3 liter and was a blast to ride in. Better road car than my dad's 76 Euro Carrera but not as good as his 930.
Is this new? As in post Jay's fire accident?
👏👏👏👍👍👍
