Great video. Great courage!! I agree with dregerclock. It looks like you are working harder than needed. I ride a Linear recumbent bicycle and have found spinning up hills works best. A friend and I rode Linears from Bangor, ME to south Georgia in 2005, and some hills/mountains were extremely slow. You show extreme courage riding on the road with traffic. I've almost given that up. I live in south Florida, and I've had to take the shoulder to keep from getting hit a few times.

I was thinking Illinois roadways but than decided can't be, we have no shoulder and 4 to 6 foot drop offs on either side of the road.

Congratulations on your first street ride on the trike. It is hard to tell from just the video but it seems like you pedaling cadence could be higher to aid in you ease of climb and speed in general. I find that one gear lower and faster pedaling makes for more efficient and less muscle tiring travel. Usually I am pedaling in the 70ish RPM ish... rate... everyone has to find their peferred pace but I find if I push my pedaling speed just a notch above what SEEMs right.. my muscles tire out less and my pace is better. Just a thought not knowing your actual RPMs. Great riding... subscribed to your channel!

I wanted a trike sooo bad but chose a two wheeled recumbent because of roads like that. Often with no shoulder. So years later, here I am looking at trike videos again. Lol

Yes, this is the same road I ride with regular bike and many drivers are more reluctant to pass me when I ride a trike. I had tried 2 wheel recumbent but was unable to stand because of short legs. The main reason I got a trike because I can easily add canopy. I couldn't ride bicycle under the sun for long hours. 😅

This road is a very popular bike route at 35mph to 45mph mostly.
