I was shocked when someone showed me photos of Gwen this year. She's absolutely beautiful, she always has and always will be. It crushes my soul to see her alter her beautiful face like that. Aging is hard to accept, I get it, but I think the pain of living with bad alterations is soo much worse. 😥

It is not a one facelift face, no.
There are tight lifts and others that are not so tight and look more natural. The objective is to look rested, well, it used to be. Now, they just want a totally new face.....as they get older, they will get more and end up with a freakish face. I once worked with a plastic surgeon and found out, women and some men quickly became addicted to procedures...We almost had to tell them, to wait a while, and think about the requests they were making. These people have more money than brains, so anything goes. No respectable plastic surgeon wants to create a freak as his work is out there for all people to see. I only worked there for six months as I could not tolerate the flow of insecure women, always wanting more. There is more to life than looks. I recall one case that impressed me. It was a 17 year old girl who had a hook nose and a receding chin. She got a nose job and a chin implant and instantly became beautiful ; the change was amazing. Considering how insecure teens are, that girl was going to be OK with her new beautiful face. There is validity for good plastic surgeons.

Gwen was such an inspiration to many young girls and women in the alternative scene in the 90s. She was so beautiful and unique and cool. I wish she hadn't messed with her face so much. She looks like every other Instagram model now and it's unfortunate because again, she was so unique.

IMO this was a flattering assessment of how she looks now as well as an under-assessment of procedures she's had done. She no longer looks like herself and is entering 'Uncanny Valley' territory. She was so individually beautiful; just why WHY did she do this.
I hadn’t really seen her for years and years and I saw a video about her new music video and gasped “WHY!?” out loud. I can’t believe how different she looks now. To me it looks like a Gwen impersonator. I love her and wanted to be her as a teenager, but whew. She looks so different now.

i think it's too much filler. first it was too much in the lips, now it looks like she has "pillow face." that or maybe just insane swelling from another facelift, but why would you make public appearances in recovery? so i lean towards filler.
Do what? Yes her eyebrows and lips look ugly. However her eyebrows seem to have improved in the last photo. I hat the raised eyebrow look it's aging.

These people screw with their face to the point of being unrecognizable. If you are 50 and up, I would consider a face lift. But a lot of these people get this shit done when they are young. It does not make any sense.

i really need lip fillers to go out of fashion. there isn't a single person that i've seen that didn't end up going overboard with it, ending up with migrated, overfilled, asymmetrical lips. it's especially telling when you see even people like her, who have lovely lips naturally, going down this road, it's really upsetting.
Ugh.. the women at the office have started. Every other week or so, someone walks in with allergic reaction looking jellyfish lips.
Most people I know personally never go over board because that shit is expensive LOL. but a lot of celebs and influencers take it way too far and people think it’s normal 😵💫
One of my daughters has them and I’m looking forward to the day she gets bored of it.. she’s 22 so it’s her choice but she’s a beautiful girl anyway with full lips .. she didn’t need it but all her friends have it and she’s insecure about herself like so many young girls these days! Injectables look so fake … Kim Kardashian has promoted this fake surgical look and millions of young women are suffering as a result!! She’s the worst role model ever!

As a mua, I' ll always bow to Gwen' s *BEST LINED RED LIPS EVER* 💄🛐 Funnily enough, she may not be the first celeb who comes into our mind when we think about red lips as a signature look but from a strictly technical perspective, she' s the only one who nails Marilyn' s level. Plus, Gwen has been wearing them uninterruptedly since the very beginning of her career ignoring the trends. Gwen was the coolest thing ever when she was the lead singer of No Doubt and even at the time she debuted as a solo artist, so talented, she also had a unique look and style, she was a trendsetter. I can understand the pressure to look youthful for as long as possible especially being in the public eye for so long. I actually believe she doesn't look that bad, after her dental work her smile did improve, but she had natural cute lips and IMO it's mostly the fillers there where the change was more dramatic.

Gwen was absolutely GORGEOUS when she was younger. It absolutely stinks she felt she had to turn herself into whatever that look is. She went from unique and beautiful to mundane and unrecognizable. That look she used to have was all her and she should have kept rocking it as she aged instead of conforming to what everyone else is doing.
She messed up her face. She had nice subtle surgery and then just went crazy with it trying to beat aging and it just makes her look weird and fake.
I think the fox eye facelift and lip injections make pretty much everyone look worse. I get it that she’s under pressure to maintain her looks in Hollywood but it’s sad. I was in high school when tragic kingdom came out and all the boys thought she was so hot. She was always unique with her looks, music and style. Now she’s a mannequin that came hot off the LA assembly line. That’s too bad.

The key is measure, which considering that they live in surgery land, I don't think they themselves realize what's too much anymore. We commoners mostly see normal faces, so our baseline hasn't been altered. Also as a peculiar thing I've noticed myself within the industry: I get botox and filler here and there as needed. I started on filler because of my nasolabial folds, but so far I have never needed a full syringe on my face, so to not waste what was left, we placed it in my lips - a very small amount. Since I already had medium lips, it was a nice and natural plump result. No one even noticed I did it. They'd think it was how I did my makeup or something. Nowadays, when I call ahead of time to ask if they'll split the syringe, they refuse and say "One syringe per area", so I haven't done it, because NO WAY I need a full syringe in my lips nor my face. It's crazy how they used to do it no problem and now they want to botch you and charge you as much as possible per "area/syringe". T

I’m seeing new teeth in 2012 and again in 2014. Her teeth are larger in both those years along with her lips as well 🫶 she’s absolutely gorgeous!
You’ve explained something for me. Last year I had a head injury and needed stitches and it left me with a loss of hair around the wound. Shock loss. I wondered why the hair went.
I thought Gwen Looked so amazing for so long but these last few months, I'm devastated by what she's done! She just looks like everyone else does, just an older woman trying to look younger but only succeeding in looking older with a pulled/filled face. When I saw her on Seth Meyers I was so sad!

I would love to see you make a video on breast implant dangers. I just had mine removed due to BII. Something that many Surgeons don’t recognize, but hundreds of thousands of women do. I thought I was going to die before making it into surgery and I have been given my life back. I have a lot of detoxing to go, but my life is night and day. I look back at pictures from 3 months ago before I got them removed snd look like an entirely different person. I was so white and sickly looking ( I am naturally olive) and swollen. My eyes were horribly blood shot with terrible bags. I just wish I had realized what was slowly killing me and causing auto immune disorder sooner.
Thank you for this! I am the same age as Gwen & I’m always blown away by how she seems to be aging in reverse. I know we’ve led totally different lives but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t undergo all the surgical interventions if I had the means. She looks absolutely amazing but I definitely noticed the awkward look around 2020 & wondered what happened. I guess it was the facelift? She clearly has an awesome plastic surgeon but does everyone go thru that awkward phase of healing after a facelift? I’ve noticed it with other celebs. I think I would just hide for those few months or however long it takes. It’s crazy how so many of us set unrealistic expectations for ourselves based on what we perceive to be celebs aging gracefully.

But you can imagine she's putting these standards on herself and most likely will not react well to any aging.

It isn’t just because she wants to look good at 55, it’s because she wants to look 25. It isn’t just a refresh, it is a rebirth with a totally different face.

She is Italian, they never age until their 60s. Just take a look at Silvestre Stallone,Madona before 60. Lady Gaga is still young but she won't age more than Stefani.

She was so naturally pretty. Looks and talent to spare! Loved her so much in the No Doubt days. She seems to want to remain forever in her 20s. I am only 5-6 years older than her and can't even imagine how exhausting it must be to maintain all of that. I hope she is happy and fulfilled otherwise and can grow old "gracefully" some day.

Unfortunately, she has also always worn very thick makeup.
This can be done when the skin is still younger.
As soon as you get a little older, thick makeup makes you much older because you emphasize the wrinkles even more.
She would undoubtedly be helped a lot more if she gave her skin a lighter foundation.

@@Beth-pf6oo So I obviously know that she has had work done..her face barely has any wrinkles and she's 53 and her nose is a bit smaller. What I meant is that people can also look different from makeup. One interview she did a few 3 months ago people said she had more work done and now they are saying it again in her most recent interview...while she may have had work done 3 months ago it is unlikely that she had more just 3 months later. A different style of makeup is probably what looks different now
@@greyeyesntyler I respectfully disagree...her entire face is swollen on the Seth Myers appearance. Makeup doesn't make you look swollen. Look at her from the April 6th interview she did on Ellen and then 5 months later on Seth Myers. You can't possibly think the only difference is makeup.
I love Gwen and I watched her recently on The Voice. Her upper lip really stood out to me. It looked like she had an implant put in on each side of the bow of her lip. I'm not a professional, just an observer. Gwen is beautiful and to me, her great beauty comes from the inside.

I guess this explains why I have a hard time recognizing her now. I kind of miss the old Gwen, but hopefully she feels happy and beautiful with what's been done.

Kinda breaks my heart because she had such a unique, and gorgeous face. Maybe she/her people were worried that her uniqueness wouldn’t look as good as she aged… but I disagree. I think she’s from California so maybe she grew up around plastic surgery and it was a natural next step for her. I think the work she’s had done is pretty good but I miss her face.
Gwen is gorgeous inside and out - ❤ she doesn’t look fake and scary like a lot of stars begin looking - she is just stunning and has the sweetest soul.
Why haven’t you addressed that she clearly had some form of maxillofacial surgery such as double jaw surgery or a chin shaving/reduction? The angle and projection of her chin is totally different. Her list of procedures is extensive, but this is a significant modification that had an extreme impact in changing her face.
Yes and her cheeks look different too. Implants?

Her version of aging gracefully doesn’t need to mirror our own. Gwen looks fantastic, if this helps her self esteem & makes her happy, it’s money well spent. The plastic surgery was tastefully done & I hope to look as young when I’m her age.
Gwen is. T favorite! She’s so sweet and nice. I knew she had brows done and her lips done. I just never thought she did anything else. She is so beautiful. I can’t tell that she had a face lift. I hope she knows she don’t need stuff done.
Yep, tweezing eyebrows over time and frequently definitely does stop them from growing. I have patchy eyebrows because of that and I have had my eyebrows microbladed, but still wear a bit of eyebrow pencil over them.

Yup. I still have the thin 1990s brows since that was the style when I was in my 20s and after decades of tweezing, the hair follicles eventually die off. I like them though and it makes me blend in less with the current thick blocky Instagram brow style.

I was heartbroken to see her look so swollen in the face from an interview somewhat recently. Obviously just come off some other cosmetic procedure. Thanks for this video. I didn't notice the augmentations in the 2000s but it's obvious once you pointed it out..

It was the Seth Meyers show I believe. She didn’t look good. If it was swelling from the work she had done hopefully it’s temporary. I haven’t seen her since.
it makes me sad because she had similar facial features and the same nose as me! seeing someone with my nose in hollywood which is full of the tiny button noses was refreshing and made me feel less bad but it wasnt good enough which shows people like me that our noses are bad :(
The doctor of this channel has the most beautiful shape of head I've ever seen and so pretty face, I prefer him without hair.

Ha. Telling it like it is. These doctors are always too polite. She had a very wide big nose. Of course she has had numerous nose jobs.

Up to age 50, whatever Gwen was doing cosmetically she looked beautiful and natural. I hope she can stay on that trajectory.

Sad thing is,
there is no going back to natural. Still love her, again they all look better in the start. The women that don't over do it look ok and she definitely didn't need any surgical alterations, naturally beautiful.
There is also no going back to 20. I would rather look like her at 53 than what most 53 year olds look like
I like these videos Dr Gary. So interesting! I would not have picked up on the brow lift in her 30s but when you see those photos side by side it's clear she has definitely made that change. I also think a lot of the things she had done in her 30s were quite subtle. I remember people commenting a lot saying 'she doesn't age'. That's why I like these videos it makes us regular folk feel better. A lot of these people have help and that's fine. But it's good to know they are human too.
