Literally. On my class’s program and it uses such big words to overcomplicate things and I’m sitting here miserable. Now I get it because of this video.
I love how you explained this. I have my first exam next week and the way my professor was going through this section was not clicking for me. I feel more confident after watching your video, thank you!!! Wish me luck 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thanks to this video, I learned; 1. That an _ion_ is a *net electrical charge due* to the *loss or gain of electron,* 2. _Ionic bonding_ is when an *electron transfer place and generates 2 oppositely charged ions,* 3. And that _covalent bonds_ are _chemical bonds_ that are *formed by the sharing of one or more pairs* of _electrons_ by the *outer energy levels* of *shells* of *two atoms.* ________________________________________________ A little more, but those are the main ones. Thanks! 🙏:)
@@hosoiarchives4858 no because ionic is transferring electrons not sharing. Covalent is when they share electrons because they’re outer shell is almost full so it’s easier to gain than to lose. Hope this helps
Actually whats up dude, I am interested in brewing science and as you know malted barley when infused in water at certain temps produces starches which get broken down by enzymes, but it also produces lipids and proteins/polyphenols complexes and many other things that you talk about, its just fascinating to have it illuminated in this way and I thank you so much.
Ok this is what i understand Ionic bonding - is gavung and taking of electron in order to bond While covalent - is just sharing electron just to bond. Correct me if im wrong please. If you correct me add more explanation and elaboration or just defend your answer
Overall, great video! However, I think you meant to say "oxygen has an atomic number of 8" rather an "atomic mass of 8" at 3:03, and "carbon has an atomic number of 6" rather than and "atomic mass of 6" at 3:16.
Around 3 minutes, when talking about carbon dioxide, you said O had an atomic mass of 8, meaning it has 8 protons. No! That is the atomic number. Same problem with the C. I am sad becasue otherwise it is really good. Can you fix that so I can use the video?
Please Sir! Sir! If electrons are negatively charged and negative charges repel each other how do all those electrons sit so close together without...........you know.........some sort of flight or fight response?
everything is good but the narrator is so fast. really needs to slow down. Hard to keep up and to makes sense of what's going on. He is way to fast when he speaks.
I made a mistake in the number of neutrons in sodium and chlorine. Sodium should have 12 neutrons and chlorine should have 18 neutrons.
IDIOT
It's okay :)
Bro not a problem
@@josephscheller1201 it's naturally , everyone can be mistake . 😅
Go back and recreate the universe correctly then. Duh.
Bro this literally expanded my brain
why is everything on youtube more easier to understand than ur school teacher

FR MAN!
True
But if you don't understand something on you tube you have no one to ask. In class you have a teacher to ask if you don't understand

You got this!
Explained better in 4 minutes than my teacher did in 2 weeks
I'm currently in class right now and did not understand.....this was very helpful !
I learned more from this than half a quarter with my teacher

I knew abt covalent bonds and ionic bonds but I didn't understand them. But this made it really simple to understand

How do people know specifically how many electrons are in the inner/outermost shells ? Like how did scientists figure that out?
theory maybe? Thats a good question though..🤔
