That dicey point there near the end where you "oh no! no! no! no! Don't die there at the last! Don't do a SLAVE LORDS!".... Seems the SL's gift just keeps on giving ;} Nicely done for R4 at L12! Thanks for the grins!
Ah to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is something at which i seem to excel - always so much more painful to lose that way than right at the start :)
watching your monk life I can tell you that it was about a year ago during that life that you did ataraxia .. love the BIG BOOM ...that was what I kept hearing when you were doing the life with Bear ! Love it
Awesome video as usual. I laughed pretty hard when you said they still have yellow numbers is that the piercing and as you were saying it the words Adamantine Defender are on the creature. The timing was perfect and I don’t think it would have been so funny had it been planned that way. I like this channel so much more because of the authenticity. It is much more relatable and inspiring. Watching someone skillfully solo R10 is cool, but being able to see someone relatable do it with normal people gear is special I think.
Cheers Terry, i wish i could say I was rubbish on purpose but... you know :) As for planning i do try planning things sometimes but they rarely come off. I should have tried a run at tempest spine for this level as some seemed to like the chrono one i did earlier. Certainly soloable if you can meet the int and strength checks for the levers - in this case int no problem as main stat, strength i could have used the defender dog to do. Re authenticity I guess much of what we see posted online is top tier gameplay (read solo R10 expansion runs lol), so perhaps my mistake littered offerings provide a nice counterpoint to that :)
@@airedaleone5542 Not trying to be tacky, but you've inspired me to record some videos of DDO. I think more and more people are recording content and that has to be good for the game. If you have free time maybe take a look and see what you think. I don't record myself talking or anything just playing since I'd just add silly commentary and sound like a dork. I think you might just be able to click my cat face and go there. No pressure or anything. Again, just interested in hearing feed back from a person who has made a lot of content. Thanks.
@@AygnusMacGyverDDO That's great matey - i was a long time before taking the plunge and even then was more of a record so we can have fun watching ourselves back type of start. Re talking it's not for everyone and plenty prefer to see gameplay without it. Me i guess i try to give the watcher an idea of my thought process or lack of it (!!) & invite them along for the ride. I'll be interested to see what you have for us :)
In Skyros Jewel the first door can be picked if I remember correctly but the second one you need the key for it (I can't remember which key for which door off the top of my head right now). If you have Ravenloft you could/should(?) run Into the Mists because at the end you get your pick of a Barovian weapon which are crazy good for the level and are minimum level 10 which would be a huge upgrade for you it seems. You mentioned DDoor too so you could grab the level 11 fighter hireling from the market place (Mikayl the Pious or something along those lines) he has the Dragonmark of Passage which gives DDoor :) If you can do Cannith Crafting to a decent level then you could/should make a level 10 gear set since you can make insightful stats at that point so would be a huge boost to defence and offence compared to what you are currently using. These would easily hold you over then until level 15 when you can equip Sharn gear and slot in other crafted items to flesh out the other slots. With regards to the yellow numbers and constructs, you need Adamantine to bypass their Damage Reduction.
Hi Owen, and thanks again for the chunk of helpful infos :) I had no idea one of those was pickable in Skyros - checked the wiki but that doesn't clarify either so will have to test next time i'm in there. I wasn't sure what to do re weapon - i know dice wise from 1-11 they stay the same and the one i have is a vorpal. That said CC or ravenloft would have significantly more add on damage so maybe i am missing a trick there. Yes Mikayl is super helpful - shame on me for not picking him up & when i do have him half the time i forget to summon him at quest start sigh... I am able to CC and red will do some times around the wheel so maybe i should show his gear a little more love. That said i've been testing the same build with my main currently (eladrin lives). Weapon and rune arm aside he doesn't have anything above L8 gear wise (now L15) - i should probably at least equip sharn :) Seems i was the only one not to notice the adamantine thing - i'm terrible for ignoring the blindingly obvious :(
@@airedaleone5542 My method in DDO these days is "if in doubt, try it anyway!" :D if it doesn't work then no problem but... if it does work... well then that's a whole other ball game xD For ranged toons you can't go wrong with the Wallwatch set, the Family Recruit Sigil and the Ring of the Stalker from the Cannith Challenges. Those 4 are my staple named items at level 15, I think everything else is crafted. With regards to the dice on weapons I believe you are nearly correct, the dice stay the same until level 10 and then from level 11 onwards they gain 0.2W per level up until sometime in to epics when things change again. So I guess that is kind of a wash really in terms of DPS however, other effects on weapons will scale up a lot especially on hit effects and you hit a lot since you using a repeater. It's quite amazing what you can get away with gear in DDO lol as for not noticing the obvious... it's all groovy :D I don't know what server you are on but I live in the UK so could jump on DIscord or something with you at some point if you would like or anything for some pointers or help with your gear or whatever. If not then that's OK too :)
@@owenhill5668 You're in the uk? Wow that's a rare find here at least for me - Yorkshire here (like you wouldn't have guessed from the accent!) and i might be right in saying the closest i've found in the comments to my time zone so far has been Sweden :) Agreed - nothing to lose by trying - i'm too bothered about messing up but really who cares about the loss of a few crafting ings or whatever. Great call on ring of the stalker - i've never had hence never used it and i am missing seeker currently with the character i mentioned to you at 15, though i do have a signet of thelanis ready for 16. Re many hits i've found that to be particularly nice for any special effects my shots have, giving them a much greater chance to land than say a standard bow build would get. Stuff like freezing ice and paralysis (shiradi t5) really seem to do well on the repeater, especially as both seem to work well vs reapers. I'm on Orien server - was there before the player base decided to create their mega server out of it :) My discord is f00lsgold i believe - i'm very bad at all things technology, but that one worked for another from here recently so fingers crossed & would be nice to hear from you. Re gear i'm not too fussed about optimizing levelling stuff, but i'm aware that my 3 endgame gearsets are certainly not optimal. I have a cold caster druid who will likely be the subject of our next series here, red my ranged character who you know well, and purple whose nominal end build is the tanky warlock thing at present.
I quite like Ataraxia too, even though it's a quite poorly-rewarding area. Just fond memories of running around the place with my brother while filling out the slayer quest. We had quite an efficient path planned out. Also... Most constructs have DR/Adamantine, which is why I've made it a point to keep some Syranian weapons on my main.
Yes it's poor rewards wise & no need at all to visit these days with the abundance of alternatives available at level, but nice once in a while for a bit of a change to keep things interesting. Nice strategy with the syranian weapons - way too organized for a muppet like me but hopefully one day :)
@@airedaleone5542 Yeah... I don't do TR, but I do do Epic Reincarnations. Got myself a bunch of weapons to make that easier, as well as just a bit of roleplaying for the character. I imagine her to like collecting them. I have a set of Sworn Silver, Ethereal, and Sacrificial Daggers for level 20, a set of Blades of the High Priestess for level 21 (all the way to cap due to how busted they are as TWF), a set of Spectral Daggers at level 24, and a set of Syranian Daggers at level 29. At cap, I have the Legendary Goldcursed Dagger alongside one of the normal Saltmarsh daggers. And I'm still trying to get the Epic versions of Slice and Dice (Multitude of Madness quest), as well as Sunslice and Moonslice (two Sharn quests). And then I would also really like to eventually get Pain and Suffering from the Barovia raids. My crowning jewel would be to eventually get myself a Keeper of the Crimson Covenant, a dagger only attainable by a Cleric of Vol.
@@DBinitiate Funny you mention slice & dice - my caster druid uses a cosmetic version of one of those in lieue of his caster stick. Some super sets you have there - one funny one that recently came to my attention was the one from the new cooking themed quest - part of the new chain i think that was released for year of the dragon - legendary fried & frozen swordfish :) They come from too many cooks quest i think & make a nice set bonus plus look pretty crazy onscreen (longswords they are nominally so i guess not really for you). If you have the dino expansion you could make some really tasty endgame daggers with that.... About TR i think most would agree there's more to be gained from epic ones and they are easier to acquire also. My 2 alt characters have done mostly epic/iconic.
