i was lucky to get the inside shot, thanks for comments, the estate has changed so much...the parts except where the pub is is totaly re built and looks nothing like what it used to
Excellent!! This film is one of my all time greats. I've now made a promise to myself to visit these locations, although I should have done it years ago before they pulled down the flats & school in Buttershaw. Btw how did you manage to get the shots inside Bob's house?
Great memories. The 80s were so much better. I was only a little lad back then but I miss the pubs. I miss the music. I miss normal people that weren’t offended by absolutely everything. I miss common sense. A time when men were men and couldn’t get pregnant. What the hell have we all sat back and watched disappearing over the years.
lazybabyz.. cant recall the name of the street but its near the train station..the estate still stands but that part was knocked down and rebuilt years ago
Buttershaw estate and Buttershaw comprehensive demolished and completely redeveloped The Arbor is still there that lead to the estate. The pub is The Beacon off Reevy Road the writer of the play Andrea Dunbar collapsed and died of a massive brain haemorrhage there due to drug and alcohol abuse
*Alexandra Street, Great Horton* which still exists, and the flats etc on *Buttershaw* which have primarily been knocked down and replaced with new build, Yorkshire sandstone looking, brick houses.
@@TheShepster80 That's what I meant. I've been correcting 1000's of UK locations on *IMDB* (completing addresses, adding post towns, adding/correcting counties, adding countries etc) in the last 6+ months, and no doubt had *Wentworth Woodhouse* in *Rotherham* or *Woodhouse* in *Leeds* pop into my head as I was writing.
Favourate film of all time thanks for sharing, I saw the house up for sale so went for a drive up to have a look, just from ourside ☺️ was great

great film. Wouldnt it be great to buy the Beacon.. What could one do with it?
Re build it inside and out to what it was in the 80s. That’s what I would do.

Great bit of nostalgia, for a great film!

It has been redeveloped
*Alexandra Street, Great Horton* which still exists, and the flats etc on *Buttershaw* which have primarily been knocked down and replaced with new build, Yorkshire sandstone looking, brick houses.
What about the council flats?
they were demolished in the 90s
