People who post wanting some sort of credit for not taking 5 of something from a store really get on my nerves. "I left some on the pegs." As you should!
When you realize the mainline hot wheels cars sells as high as Hot Wheels Premium detailed cars, that's where I decided to exit the Hot Wheels Mainline entirely. Additionally, as you said, there will be someone with a backdoor staff to collab with and remove the hot / STH cars. What's the point of "peg hunting" when you can't get a STH by chance? Unlike the Hot Wheels Premium, Pre-orders made it fair for everyone, lesser chance of mark ups unless they are old as hell to find. But still fair enough compared to buying a $1 mainline and sold for $30-$40 just cause mainline casting.
I just collect for myself. I also don't collect to make money. I consider my self an odd ball when it comes to collecting. I prefer the fantasy castings, and don't look for chase, STH or premium cars.
I gave up hunting hot wheels to many grandpas there running to pegs one of them got mad and wanted to fight me because a toy dropped next to him I just feel like it’s not worth it anymore and the supers aren’t great quality either
WAAAAAY off base here. What you're describing (except maybe #1) describes scalpers/speculators FAR MORE than collectors. I'm a long time collector, and I have no problem resisting all but number 1 on this list, and I'm working on that one. The only time I take more then one thing, is when a buddy needs one as well, or I want them for customs. I also don't buy anything that doesn't have a place in my personal collection, or that of a friend's. I sometimes trade, or give away, but I rarely sell. If I sell, it's usually at a loss or at peg price, same with trading. That's how I personally define the actions of a collector vs your list.
@@modelcarshoustonThanks. But, I believe the difference is that those your list addresses aren't collectors, they're speculators/scalpers. Most actual collectors can easily resist your list, except #1, as I stated.
I have to admit the truth to this story. There so many people collecting HW's everywhere, it use to fun and go out an find want you need about 4 to 5 yrs ago. Then everybody started to collect HW's everywhere. All the hoarders came out evert place in every environment like COVID-19!! People should respect what they get and sell. Look into the future on the buyer. Buying basic line HW's are go to go up prices because of all hoardering!! Also, with embargo charges the next president is going to add on to Import Charges.???!!! Hahaha!!!!😮😅😊😢
They are fighting for the rare item, and after a few months, the value drops down to 1-2 dollars lol. They're just wasting their money buying Hot Wheels from the scalpers.
I was just at Walmart talking about collecting HW with this Puerto Rican guy shopping there. All of a sudden this manager looking dude comea over, dabs him up and there speaking PR. with each other. I dont speak P.R. and im like what are these guys talking about?? The dude never left the store. I waited around and eventually left. There was a fresh delivery or something he was waiting on im sure of. The dude completely flipped when he saw his hook up arrive. ..I won't be surprised if scalpers soon start hijacking walmart trucks fast and furious style.😂
That's why I'd rather collect the older castings. It's also based on my car taste, but everyone knows damn well that HW will make a lot of cars that haven't been made in diecast before
I still go to the hot wheels aisle at Target just to see if there's a random M2 or Greenlight or something that's interesting. Usually there's nothing.
You nailed it 100% . That's why I'm working my way out of colleting Hot Wheels. I used to sang an extra of the same casting incase one of my collector friends needed. We would trade hell half the time I would just give them the car. My joy was always in the hunt.
Short, to the point, and accurate -- a fine job here. No. 5 on the list grinds my gears, it's part of the social media sickness where upvotes and surface level engagement online is prized as much as (or more than) the score itself. Certainly don't bother asking "Did I do good?" "W or L, Chat?" when you've _already paid the money and gone home,_ my dudes. I cannot scroll away from those posts fast enough
I started collecting HW ever since I was a little kid, during that time nobody even gives a sht about Hotwheels available at dept stores, grocery etc. You can get tons of good cars without worry. After collecting HW for about 18 years now, scalpers and the current hype turned me off, and slowly shifted into collecting Mini GT and Kaido House Cars instead. Yeah sure they're 15-20x more expensive but damn the details and quality of them are worlds apart from HW and most of all NO EFFIN SCALPERS, and I could just buy them off hobby stores for retail price. I have been very satisfied with them no regrets in spending more for them. I'd rather get a regular Mini GT or a Kaido House Series of Mini GT car than buy a HW Premium for almost the same price. Because for me, HW hype killed it for me. Too many scalpers, so many overpriced mainlines its just disgusting for a hobby I enjoy.
I have one more: They can't resist writing sarcastic comments such as "Can't wait to not find this on the pegs!!" or "Can't wait to buy this from a scalper for double the price!!" 😅
I do everything except #5. Regarding having a hookup, it just happens out of the blue when a 'dizer offers to get me a random box or specific casting, or offered specific cars (Got offered Tomica exotic car castings once: didnt take them, rummaged a 2023 HW case and Majorette 2022 case 1 each, and requested a specific Tomica casting once)

Right?!
those people don't impress me

You are far and few nowadays.
reasons why i switched to pop race, mini GT etc.

Well, there's that one hot wheel collector that's fair. 😆

A collector doesn't take all the cars, those are the scalpers

Think no other brand exists
The most annoying for is seeing these people trying to look every car up on ebay 😂😂😂
facts
Hotwheels hoarders
