I am in Germany, and I always tell myself how glad I am that European countries are so much more advanced and just... better I guess, in a lot of things, the only thing America has that we do not is a bigger military and a higher GDP, and yet there are still some people that think America is the best place to be in, I know a war is not going to break out so I can just sit down, relax, and just laugh at this entire fiasco XD

For the people who are curious about the Paris agreement :
the Paris agreement is very important. Before we had the protocol of Kyoto but it was only signed by some of the more developed countries. The Paris agreement was signed by 195 countries plus the EU, it was the first time nearly the entire world recognize human activities have direct consequences on the climate. From that point they decided to be more careful about how we are producing, consuming and living.
If we continue with the same industrial development the temperature at the end of the century will rise of 5 degrees or more. The consequences would be huge :
-the agriculture would be hurt, extreme climatic events would be way more frequent,
-the ph of the oceans will be more too acid it will damage its ecosystem,
- the level of the seas/oceans would rise (+1meter in 2100) and submerge some parts of the littoral, today 400 millions people live just 1 meter under sea levels, they would have to leave,
- we would lose 30% of the biodiversity.
40% is the minimum of the reduction of greenhouse gaz emission to do to have a chance to stay under the critic +5 degres in 2100. The goal is to have a world economy neutral in carbon (emitting as many carbon as it can absorb). It will benefit not only the USA but every countries and the planet.
Well, the world might just have gotten worse isn't it amazing how one person can so easily doom the entire world.

I really feel like the media in general is doing a bad job of conveying how big a difference a global change of 1 or 2 degrees is. The last ice age when America was completely covered in sheets of ice had a global temperature just a few degrees lower. These things have huge knock on effects besides the thermometer reading being a little higher.

The Northern part of my country has experienced temperature peaking at above 106F for the last few days, outside on the street it can be up to 122F, it's a 45-year record. It's terrifying.
