Apparently that is NOT Tiamat with Estinien, but instead one of the first brood we have yet to meet, Vrtra! My mistake.
It's okay, it's hard to catch till you really focus on what Estinien was saying there, which can be hard when doing a live reaction. Even when I first saw that I was like "Yo, we got Tiamat fighting on our side now?" Then Estinien says a name that's def not Tiamat and I'm like "Okay, hol' up, I might need to look at that closer."

If you've played any FF 1-10, Endwalker does embody "Final fantasy endgame" to a Tee. it is amazing
There's nothing more final fantasy than anything to do with the moon

As for ff10. If you really think about it, the end times in ff14 is basically a homage to sin's rampage around the world
Also going to another plain of reality. In 4 they even went there from the moon! This was the most Final Fantasy thing XIV did and its glorious.

Not to disparage that. By all means, I loved those inclusions, but it's still a thing Endwalker did to just go over the top with. It really drove the point home that this was seriously epic hardcore storytelling endgame time!
From being disillusioned with WoW to being giddy to walk to the end. A journey it has been.

Always been a trip seeing generic adventurer and archer extraordinaire ardbert from 1.0 walk the path through ARR and beyond.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how ShB basically cannonizes why ardbert represents us in prerendered cutscenes without really needing to retcon anything/works naturally within the framework of the narrative they themselves setup.
Meteor is a transman on his journey on T and you can't tell me otherwise.
Next expansion he will have male pattern baldness even.
@@svenstevenson2245 Ardbert in ShB was such a good character. They could've kept him as our voice and I wouldn't have minded 1 bit.
That shot of him going back to his friends, his axe no longer bloody, was the first time I cried in FF14.
@@VDA19 IDK the two random soldiers who get merced by the sin eater in lakeland as ardbert is powerless to stop it was pretty damn sad too.
Voice acting of the soldiers was a bit... but ardberts was spot on...

Always make me laugh that at 5:27 Yshtola walks away directly where a table is supposed to be. It's a reminder that she is still blind.
She'd have sensed the people sitting there atleast lol. I think it was an oversight for a cool dramatic shot.

She sees aether, which everything is composed of. So in essence: she's not actually blind at all, she sees everything, even things that others cannot.

She actually confirms she can things that have recently died, because in one of the cutscenes in EW she asks if the thing they just killed had been directly in front of her until the moment it disappeard. Then goes on to explain that she never saw it there because it's not made of Aether. Had it been made of aether, she could've seen it die, but yeah.
Fun fact! The vocalist of the Architects is the one singing the EW trailer theme! They got a big dog to do the vocals! So dope!

Square Enix (or Squaresoft) has been making the best CGI sequences in games for as long as CGI sequences have existed in games. Which is goddamn miraculous.
Ffviii was the first non sports video game to use motion capture, S-E has been pushing the limits of storytelling for many years.

It's suuuuuch a good trailer. It wasn't one that people were scouring for answers as much as Shadowbringers, but the hype levels from it were GIGANTIC!
Loving your choices for the character design, they make sense. I tried doing something similar, but more just keeping a general theme across all the characters I've had from start to finish.
Same, I usually bounce around on what my character is… but when me and my friend got to endwalker I went back to my ‘main’ race and staying with that until we finish.

just missed the launch trailer. "its spoilery" some said, but it was released before the xpac comes, so it was meant to be watched before playing.
I feel like ffxiv was the best thing that could have happened to pyro.

Well, I hope Pyro is more ready than I was for the lore in it because all my speculation were wrong (well, not all, it has a thing I saw comming but not the way it was done so in my mind I was wrong because I only got 1 point, not the reason or even the moment)
I got about 75% of it, myself--mostly in spirit rather than the letter, if you will--but they didn't barf all the information out ahead of time, so some stuff took me completely by surprise. But it's also great when they do ambush you with something, because whatever it is, it's usually way cooler and more uplifting than whatever you'd expected.

I really hope the next expansion is a break expansion, like, just no world ending threats or major calamities. Just the WoL doing WoL things.
Like exploring new lands, getting into politics and starting trouble with the local villains.

Spoiler warning for Shadowbringers I guess:
I remember when Shadowbringers came out everyone was adding white to their hair to represent the effect from absorbing all the sineaters. I did this too, but I also changed one of my eyes to blue to represent the addition of Ardbert's soul to our own, because I figured that would have a more lasting impact on my character since that's what allowed them to overcome the light of the sineaters.
Everyone? I've never even heard of anyone doing this. I mean, sounds fun, but I think "everyone" is pushing it a bit.

I finished the MSQ of Endwalker months ago and I still never get tired of this trailer. Or the song in it. I love how it incorporates aspects of previous expansion packs, like Heavensward, with lyrics in Draconic, when we're seeing Estinien and Vrtra doing battle, and Stormblood when Fandaniel is going up the elevator in the Tower of Babil to where Zenos sits on his throne, hearkening back to our Ala Mhigan and Doman 'brothers' yearning for freedom.
And YES... Sharlayan is gorgeous. It's my favourite city... I want to buy a house there! But considering they only just opened a housing zone in Ishgard, I don't think that will be happening any time soon.

The Launch Trailer is more of an epic misdirect than it is spoilers. But it's probably even more fun to go in without having seen it.
The launch trailer was super hype, I felt like it really added to the game imo
I liked having seen it and peicing together the clips as i went through the msq, but next time ill probably avoid watching the launch trailers if i can, so as to have no preconceptions

I had the same reaction when Sharlayan was first introduced. The music for that reveal still gives me chills
I don't know why but that shot of Sharlayan, and the "Higher, oh higher" chant gets me all teary-eyed every single time.
My first-time encounter with Pyro was as i saw a Lulu video with his World of Warcraft rant (more like World of Mobile-free2play-system), since then i was watching his journey though FF14. It make me Happy seeing his BIG Smile and Joy of this Game and community.
I think a lot of people started hearing about Pyro the moment he lost his shit there.

As a long time FF fan been a trip all the casual nods and tie ins the average player may miss or take for granted is just another small joy for me.
In the long run they don't matter but the fact that they did and do is always such a joy for some one who's played them all to date (never beat 2/13/15 however, not a fan of those 3 tbh)

Throughout my play through of this game, every time i watched an expansion’s trailer for the first time, i pictured my WoL taking
the poster boy’s place. It made the hype that much better. Good ole imagination and filling in gaps. And i must say, the endwalker trailer hit the hardest. I have only just started at the time of typing this.
I'm so happy for him. He's so excited. Get ready for a trip!
It is supremely crazy that we directly experience everything that happens, making these cinematics *our* story.

My favorite touch from the trailer is how the WoL's silhouette looks kind of like an ancients' at the beginning. And white robed at that.

I love that you got excited about Meteor going PLD! Like all his other job changes, it's thematically significant, especially in context of classic paladin and knight tropes.

I can only recommend watching the launch trailer as well. It does contain scenes from ew but they make zero sense without context but open at bunch of possibilities for theorizing. 100% worth it
Watched it myself during the liveletter before ew release and it was definitely worth it. Increased the hype by 500x
I mean it still litteraly shows the final dugeon, there might be zero context but some still would rather not see it, nor hear the final zone theme, that kind of shit is better experienced completely blind for some people
@@oui7171 the final zone theme was introduced with the launch trailer. The fact that it appeared in the final zone made it 100% better.
Also congrats on spoilering. The launch trailer does show footage yet it does not tie any conclusion as to what is beginning, end or middle.
Oh, so since it appeared in the launch trailer first it's the launch trailer theme and not the final zone theme? And my point is that even getting visuals of something like that can be considered a spoil, and even if it doesn't tell you it's the final dungeon it's still a visual of something extremely important and something I would have hated to see before doing the expansion, I'm not spoilering anything there my dude
I never fantasia-d, changed hairstyles a couple times but switched it back to my first one to finish it with. Choosing a gold colour for eyes from the get go never felt more right than after getting Azem's crystal. That's the one thing I would have changed, but I didn't have to, it all just worked out.

As a small note, the version shown in-game and not on youtube is lacking one or two sound bites that are small lore easter eggs/mcguffins which are only understood after going through EW. I don't know why they removed it as they didn't spoil anything, but that's worth noting.
