It's been a couple years since posting this video, and given that it's being viewed by a lot of people, I'd love to provide a few extra thoughts:
    1) I no longer have issues being nude in public or with intimate partners. The weight has officially lifted 🥳
    2) I had never even heard the word "intact" when referring to circumcision. Crazy how conditioned I was to thinking of myself as the outsider. This reframe was a game-changer for my healing.
    3) To those of you who left uplifting comments and thoughts, thank you. Your kindness is seen and appreciated.
    4) For the many who said that "I shouldn't feel shame," or "I should be proud" - I know you were just trying to help, but I want to gently point out that this is unhelpful advice for those moving through negative emotions.
For instance, telling someone that they shouldn't be angry about a particular situation often makes them even angrier, right? Or suggesting that someone not feel their sadness leads them to bury it or feel sadder, both suboptimal.
In this case, when I read comments such as "don't be ashamed" or "you are crazy for feeling shame," my initial reaction was actually to feel MORE shame! In fact, my internal dialogue went something like this: "Ethan, you loser. How come you feel so much shame around this topic? Why can't you just see yourself as normal like everyone else!?"
In other words, when we tell people how they should or shouldn't feel, it ends up perpetuating the very negative emotion we hope to free them from! Instead, by acknowledging where people are without judgement, we support them in transmuting the negativity into something more productive.

Sending love to all of you who are currently navigating your own healing journey. I'm rooting for you! ॐ

I'm Scandinavian, and it's not a routine here. Mostly Muslims, and jews do it to their kids. But the vast majority are uncut, and we're doing just fine. We have low HIV rates, almost no penile cancer, very few men need it done for medical reasons, and hygiene never seems to be an issue. South African here, aside from Jews, Muslims, and a couple of the black tribes, it's not commonplace here. Frankly, many of us view the whole thing as quite barbaric. I agree. I can't seem to wrap my head (hahaha) around the idea that in the age of 'consent' and 'my body my choice', we're still allowing this mutilation of newborn baby boys. I am no more or less hygienic than the most average of decent blokes and I have NEVER had any issues with cleanliness or any of that codswallop that those on the other side insist on peddling. I'm also gay, and I can't think of a single sexual experience I have had with a guy who was uncut where there was cause for concern, and none of my friends who are uncut have ever had any issues. Wow, that's brave and vulnerable to talk about.
Ever wonder why the label assumes the mutilated state to be the norm? "Un-cut, un-circumcised", as if the chop is what's missing rather than the single most sensitive part of our bodies. No wonder American men have so much trouble trusting. The first experience of their new life is one of unimaginable pain at the hands of those who should be their protectors. Even an infant understands at some level that their parents have stepped away to allow a surgeon to torture them.
In case anyone doubts the trauma, check out a video on the medical circumcision process. Check out the clamp used. The foreskin is drawn forward and clamped....without anesthetics because it's too dangerous to anesthetise an infant. Lets say it again. The most sensitive part of a baby boy's body is mashed and cut off with no pain killers, no ability to comprehend why, and no choice.
A small but significant number of botched circumcisions result in infection and death....every year. Another percent go so badly the doctors just cut the rest away and make a vagina. They tell the parents to raise the child as a girl. (you won't hear the christo-fascists discussing THAT kind of gender reassignment surgery).
This is infinitely more hideous knowing the entire procedure is unfounded on health grounds, was justified originally as an anti-masturbation measure by earlier generations, and in many hospitals should a mother object, the staff shames her into signing the consent form. As for the hospital? It's a quick surcharge. Fast cash.
The vast majority of men on our planet have intact penises. Genital mutilation of young boys is mostly practiced in the USA.

Nobody NOBODY shoukd feel ashamed of their body. Parents are at fault for NOT teaching their sons about the foreskin and care. By not doing so - it is a pretty good giveaway the parent has issues about nudity and their body. At age 74 yo I have found that men (husbands/Fathers) that are nudist are much more open about their body and acceptance of others. A kid needs to learn what/how to care of the foreskin. Fathers that teach their sons are doing what they should do - parenting. The kid should take a shower with the father and learn from the father by (show and tell) if you will. At the same time learning to be comfortable around dad naked and feeling it's natural. Knew a farm family with four sons and after a days work they would all shower in the barn (wide open shower) and have clean clothes before going into the house for dinner. They all know about each other and had no hang ups or issues about nudity. All uncut and their father taught them how to care for their foreskin. The father taught the sons that even if they got an erection that that was normal and ok, Nothing to be ashamed off. Common for them all to go skinny dip in the heat of summer. A healthy family - well taught about not being ashamed. We have been programed to be prudish about nudity. Everything is so private, and fears of what others will think and.or being callef queer. So here we are ashamed of our body and thinking it is awful when there is nothing wrong or bad AT ALL.

I beg to differ! A LOT of the rest of the world practices circumcision, not by choice, as here in the US, but by religious and cultural requirement! ALL of the Islamic world requires circumcision of males, and in some parts even females. Most African tribes require circumcision as a rite of passage in early adolescense. Europe will soon become one of the most circumcised parts of the world due to massive immigration from the middle East and Africa.

@mygaysianlife I'm not sure about the percentage, and you may be right. However, I was responding to the statement that "the rest of the world is uncut." If the statement had been '70% of the world is uncut", I might have agreed. The way it is, the statement makes it sound as though circumcision is exclusively practiced in the United States.

It is only in the USA and some religious communities where boys are sexually mutilated at birth. This procedure cuts the frenulum (sex nerve) in two places, resulting in loss of sensitivity which can be catastrophic. The USA has their secretary of health in the 1930s to thank. He was a repressed homosexual and perpetrated the myth that a natural man is unclean. In the 1980s the evil US medical profession perpetrated a new myth in face of the HIV epidemic, that a man with in tact foreskin was more vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases. Funny, the rest of the world’s statistics don’t show an increased virility of STDs. The prevalence of sexually mutilated men in the USA also accounts for the fact that so many gay men like to be bottoms, because it results in prostate orgasms. Those who have been mutilated in this way typically cause more urinary tract infections in their female partners and find it increasingly difficult to reach orgasm as they age. Your parents were wise indeed, thank yourself daily for them and blame your crazy society for the sexual neurosis you suffered.

You're fortunate. I'm American, born in the 50s, so I was circumcised. It was routine. It was years before I found out what an uncut penis was and that it was natural. As I grew up, I heard all negatives about uncut, ugly smelly, smegma etc. Also I am gay and one day had sex with an uncut guy and I loved it. Not sure why but it was more to play with. My fascination with intact penis grew and I learned about stretching the remaining skin I had, could possibly work. So for the next 2 years that was my goal. I will never know what a natural dick feels like. I have greater sensitivity and stronger pleasurable orgasms. I am still fascinated and prefer uncut partners. In the US, attitudes about circumcision are slowly changing which is great. The omly reason to cut should be a medical reason. I hope you will continue to overcome your shame and inhibitions and grow to love what nature gave you

Girls have way more infections. Have you ever considered riping off newborn girls' labia to save them from those problems? Or do you just give them antibiotic treatment only if needed? Why is it acceptable for you to have 'preventive' surgery done on boys? By the way, you don't have to retract anything because the foreskin is fused to the glans and will slowly get loose over time.

  • @benjaminlacayo5891

Anatomically, I see the foreskin of the intact penis as the way nature has designed man's sexual organ to remain internal, just like it occurs with other male species in the animal kingdom. Definitely, the foreskin is nothing that should generate shame or disagreement, nor should it become a tribal marker.

I had such similar experiences growing up intact in the US! It was validating to hear your experiences. I also remember being scared the first time I saw the head and realizing it could retract. I also masturbated vigorously in the shower by slapping the head as a means to desensitize and remember feeling embarrassed in the 9th grade when others found out I was not corcumcised and even though I defended myself, I got a lot of comments about how gross and unsanitary it was (even from girls). It took me a while to realize my shame and actively go against it by exploring my body and also beginning to see others naked. I now run a young naturist group where we often get people with lots of body shame (many due to weight, which is something I never experienced but can empathize) and the simple act of physically being naked and normalizing our bodies, their differences and what they can do has helped me and so many others. I invite you to try naturism if you're able to. In Florida, multiple times a year, a group called the Florida Young Naturists hosts a seasonal bash that welcomes all sorts of people for workshops around these topics. Thank you for sharing you raw experience.

I decided to circumcised my penis for medical reasons- it was the best decision for me. However, when I was uncut, my penis would smell badly, sex would be uncomfortable, redness and irritation would occur.

Hi there…. The price was lil over $3,000 and it took about 4-6 weeks to heal and everything to go back to normal. It’s not painful just adjust to no foreskin and more sensitivity

I was circumcised without my parents consent. The doctor just did it.
