    I am awaiting iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. From what I know this will be the same in Calendar and Reminders in the new version of the Apple OS.

      So am I! Right now you can do that with BusyCal, first seed calendar, calendars 5, and fantastical among a few

      Using the IOS beta and you can move create and move Apple Reminders to specific times in Apple Calendar is a huge improvement

      Not entirely the same, you cannot create a duration for your reminders on the calendar

    Does not seem to be released for iPadOS. Very strange. I see it on my iPhone, but not on the iPad. For all of us who use Fantastical, this is a common feature, just the other way around.

    Great summary, Carl! I hope you’ll review Akiflow at some point, which does this and much more with a fully functional calendar connected. That bit about Focus Time, where the calendar got messy as everything stacked up, is solved brilliantly with Time Slots in Akiflow. You could have one called Focus Time (recurring or singular) and then drag tasks into it or even schedule tasks into future ones from the keyboard. Best of all, they’re all two-way synced with beloved Todoist.
    I’m not affiliated with them and hope Todoist will work to build out their calendar to similar sophistication, but for those willing to spend the money for a big calendar integration upgrade, it’s pretty amazing to use the two together now. (It also complements your Time Sector System really nicely.) Ever checked it out?

      Airflow is disappointing. It's very unstable and buggy and is never fully developed to be used properly.

    That’s a Game Changer feature of Todoist. However- I hope the new calendar integration will be able to show meetings slso on Project’s weekly calendar view. Also how it will be 2 way sync as the old integration was, so I will be able to see the tasks with dates on my google calendar.

      @@Carl_Pullein With that being said, I think I’ve encountered a genuine bug (read: "another likely user error"). I have multiple calendars subscribed to my main calendar in Todoist. The issue is that events from these shared calendars that include invitees do not populate in Todoist. However, when I remove the invitees, the events appear as expected. All is well with the main calendar; it's just the shared calendars that behave in this way. This is quite odd and inconvenient. Have you experienced this issue, or do you have any suggestions for a workaround?

      @@willingwinning It's early days, and I'm sure these little bugs will soon be fixed. It might be worth checking your calendar integration as it allows you to turn different calendars on and off.

      @@Carl_Pullein You're right, it's early days; I trust it will be resolved in due course. It's not the calendar on/off feature, fyi. Thanks again.

    I really hope that future updates will turn this into a traditional calendar client. 🙏. It's disappointing that you have to rely on an external calendar but their two way sync was unreliable anyway.

    I'm curious - I'm thinking about Todoist so I can't check this function - When you move tasks around that are regularly repeating tasks, does it damage their original repeating cycle? For instance, if you have a task that is due yearly on June 1, but then you move it to June 15th on the calendar... Will that change the due date to June 15th of every year? That's how Tick Tick works and it's very frustrating.

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No. Your original recurrence will remain in place.

  • @nichokp
    @nichokp 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Will you be able to do 2 way sync? So your task showed up on Todoist will also show up on your calendar (prolly as an event).

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not yet. I don't know if that's what Todoist plan to do in the future.

    I was very hopeful with this, then I saw you had to use a 3rd party calendar. I'm hoping Todoist will get to a point where I can use them as my calendar, instead of Google...

    Does Todoist or Todoist + Calendar have a schedule view? I've just started playing with it and a bit surprised that it didn't seem to be available but perhaps I'm missing something. The Upcoming view in Todoist doesn't make it easy to see a summary of all your upcoming tasks in the same way that Google calendar schedule view does

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This is the first iteration. If the view you are looking for isn't there yet, it likely means it will come soon.
