Loved these guys when I was growing up and have had them on my 1st gen Ipod to my latest Android. Never got to see them live, but glad I stumbled across this.
I unfortunately didn't get to see loudness on the theatre of pain your, loudness was replaced by y&t. Still great show but I really wanted to see loudness. And motley loved to have amazing bands open for them!
great band...akira is definately one of the best rock guitarists of all time...phrasing, technique, sound... but i have to say, that, although he does a helluva great job, masayoshi rips off rudy sarzo alot...clothing/moving-wise...but thats how a good show has to look like!
I worked one the Loudness shows in So Cal the year this came out and let me tell you....these guys fucking rocked hard effortlessly. They played two or three songs before the singer actually spoke to the crowd when he announced, "Herro souvern Caryfornrra". Translation Hello southern California.
On old stereo receivers made overseas, the volume knob were called Loudness knobs. My old stereo said this. That's where they got their name. Awesome band!!
PHAK THIS IS A REAL QUALITY OF THE OLD VIDEO, THANK YOU YOU. LOVE LOUDNESS, ITS KINDA FUNNY HOW THE BAND DIGG MY SHE FRIEND WHEN THEY DID THE LATEST TOUR IN SANTA CLARA AND WE GET TO HIT THE BACKSTAGE WITH SOME PICTURES...
Minoru Niihara was the only singer that can sing these songs very well. It was pretentious when Mike was in the band and Masaki wasn't that good technically.
I don't agree on that one. Minoru is more melodic, Masaki's vocals were more rougher than melodic. This song fits well with them. Anyway I prefer any of those 2 than Mike Vescera.
I graduated high school in 1986.I have never seen this footage until now at age 57.Great sound and worth watching! Thankyou for sharing!
Saw them open for Motley Crue in '85. Still one of the best openers I've seen. Great energy.

Love that Guitar!!! I love the guitarist Akira Takasaki!!!

R you serious, these guys are so under-rated. Poison really! These guys blow alot of bands away.

holy smoke. loved this band from their back years.
akira is one of my top ten guitar players of the world
vocal, guitar, bass and drum are the best \m/
It's got to be one of the baddest metal riffs ever. Love it!!! MZA!!
I jam the bread to LOUDNESS very often.I can't deny this track is one of my all-time favs. Its KIller.
A classic, a jewel!!!! Good memories... Thanks for sharing.
Akira Takasaki was a MONSTER guitar player! Unreal riffing and lead work!
I was 18 when this came out. All of the radio stations were calling Akira Takasaki "the Japanese Eddie Van Halen" in the concert ads.
The first time my friend played this for I was a freshman in high school and I didn't know whether to laugh or bang my head. I chose to bang my head.
THUNDER IN THE EAST!
Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 South America
it's just kinda amusing that a Japanese metal band is singing to a Japanese audience in English.
Please look at well, Members except Akira Takasaki ! From Japanese Loudness fan
M・Z・A!! M・Z・A!!
30 years later and still gives me goose bumps when I crank it..
one of my best Heavy Metal band !! Takasaki and Niihara were two fantastic performers !!
LOUDNESS at CRAZY Guitarist Akira Takasaki☆彡
this is why i love heavy metal
Man, Akira really tore it up. I heard somewhere that he was one of the first players to use ESP guitars, don't know if that's true.
Awesome! Thank you very much for sharing this great live clip! Honto ni suki desu! Domo arigato gozaimasu! Banzai Loudness!!! \(^o^)/

fantastic song and the guitarist is a God !!

One of the best metal albums, Thunder in the East.
still the best aft so many years. juz love this track

@Shawnster65 - I agree - I saw them with Motley Crue on Theatre of Pain and thought Loudness stole the show....
I unfortunately didn't get to see loudness on the theatre of pain your, loudness was replaced by y&t. Still great show but I really wanted to see loudness. And motley loved to have amazing bands open for them!
i dont care what anyone says that is a fucking killer riff \:)
legendary
Saw them on this tour with AC DC, they kicked ass!!!
Love this band so much, clean and precise. Great music, they didn't mess around.
great band...akira is definately one of the best rock guitarists of all time...phrasing, technique, sound...
but i have to say, that, although he does a helluva great job, masayoshi rips off rudy sarzo alot...clothing/moving-wise...but thats how a good show has to look like!

this band rulez!!!! long live metal!!!

LOUDNESS
ok
One of the best in 80's.. and works still now.
Have this on vinyl....Not a huge fan of it but the intro riff is fucking DANGEROUS....
I worked one the Loudness shows in So Cal the year this came out and let me tell you....these guys fucking rocked hard effortlessly. They played two or three songs before the singer actually spoke to the crowd when he announced, "Herro souvern Caryfornrra". Translation Hello southern California.
I would prefer this vocal than Mike Vicera, I guess his voice is unique and it becomes very original as a japanese metal band must be.
Pues en México, aun recordamos a Louness! Saludos Rockers del mundo entero!!
Ustedes tuvieron la tremenda oportunidad de verlo. Acá en Chile es sólo un sueño.
lml Stay Heavy lml
@jetwagon this guy is a master of tapping ... great guitar player... listen to their music..... this is an averege solo from him...
Loudness was one of the first japanese metal band that actually was making music in english.
And before there was Char, more blues-pop-rock, boomer music, but I like it dang it
Char "Smoky" 1976... he also wore the cowboy hat before S.R.V. someone else said
I dont care who they copied, if they copied...I just love their music...it kicks...
The awesomeness is off the scale.
what the fuck is Pig-ineering ??? HAHAHAHAHAHA Now I have to click it to see it. Hilarious
That Drums, amazing!
I like this song.. From 🇲🇾.. Malaysia. Rock on.. 🤘
On old stereo receivers made overseas, the volume knob were called Loudness knobs. My old stereo said this. That's where they got their name. Awesome band!!
Japanese Motley Crue
Funny you say that. Motley Crue opened for them at one point in America.
***** yes, Loudness opened for them and Motley Crue opened for them too.
***** not kidding. I think it was in Alabama, could be wrong.
