Lol they should've made it possible for those super slicks to have a negative offroad parameter, so the game divides the grip stats when the tyre goes offroad.
Honestly this should be a thing for more cars. It's so goofy doing Race Weight Reduction and supposedly shaving hundreds of pounds off a car, and there is visually no difference at all.
I've been building cars for racing myself on this game for almost 3 years, and it's only up until last months that someone told me that drift differential is faster. Thank you for helping me confirm this.
The Differentials are all the same it's just auto tuned out the gate, Race Diff is More open and drift diff is a lot more closed. Essentially there is more or less preload per diff and will allow for more or less slip. they're all the same otherwise except stock cause you can't tune it
@@Fuyuko_Hawku But no matter how you tune race diff, the acceleration times are still faster on rally/drift diff, so I don't think they're exactly the same
The myths around the 2.0 f4 turbo rally aren't even myths, they're just incomprehension. Cams can shift your powerband...woah. If you have a low-end crossover and peak power you shift early instead of falling down the power curve...crazy. Minor short-shifting is best for a lot of the bigger V8s and a few of the hybrid cars, as well.
Ikr? It's like people don't understand how cams work or what the purpose of upgraded/different spec cams are. The bigger the cam, the higher your peak powerband will be. If you want the low-end torque, don't do a big cam. Or at least that's how I've always understood it anyway. I could be wrong. There's definitely a lot more detail and nuance to it, but that's above my pay grade, lol.
most v8s dont require shortshifting. the LS v8 should be shifted at the very end of the redline on stock cams (around 6.8-7k or so). the only ones that really do need it are classic muscle cars and diesels
Love game myths. Used to go hunting in GTA SA all the time and loved that GTA V actually had fun myths to discover. So cool that there are myths in FH5 too. Need more of it for sure 👍
2:30 some cars are worse off with the drift diff. the thing nick doesnt mention here is that some cars (especially dirt ones) are better with offroad diff instead of drift, usually because drift makes the car overall more oversteery on the same settings
3:56 What actually happens here is the race cams smooth out the powerband. You're supposed to mega short shift the standard cams for faster acceleration, but race cams can be revved all the way out without losing so much power and torque. Basically, less torque for better consistency.
Also the more aggressive cams you get the more power you get higher in the rev range but less low end torque. Bigger cam = More top end power, Less low end torque Smaller cam = Less top end power, more low end torque.
The drift dif is faster simply because it locks the dif to maximise slip in the corners while the other difs all allow some dif slip to minimize slip in the corners. Just use any other dif and lock it
even with the same settings, all diffs still feel different from each other when driving. its best explained if you drive a car yourself with different diffs and use the same settings for each of them
6:36 with this section, you can also paint the interior of the Mercedes 280 or whatever the convertible is. I have a (what I call) banana crème color on it and the dashboard and the steering wheel (maybe some other parts on it) are carbon fiber
FH5 myth: using sim damage you can run down the fuel gauge on vehicles but cant do the same on electric vehicles. FH5 myth: fuel tank upgrades affect the fuel gauge and how long it takes to “run out”.
In one of the Mclaren Sabre you can change the gauge display. You have to get in the car, go into forvista, go to the interior of the car and there’s a toggle in there that you can switch!
you can turn the Porsche GT4 RS into a normal GT4 if you put a layer over the hood. simply make the car full carbon, then put layers of whatever color you want and fill the entire car with layers and it will pretty much be a gt4
That’s interesting. Now I'm curious about which differential is best for specific tunes. For example, which one makes the car go faster (like you tested), which offers better on-road or off-road grip, and which one makes the car slide or drift more easily? I’d also like to know your thoughts on suspensions too.
Myth to test for next episode: Rally tires are better for dirt/off-road races than the actual Off-Road Race tires. I've always used Rally tires for my dirt cars because I swear they feel better and more grippy in dirt than the Off-Road Race tires. It might just be me and my driving style, but I've never done that well with the ORR tires compared to Rally tires.
Myth: same speed and angle when drifting do not mean the same points for different cars. Some cars just get more drift score. Test this by going the same speed into a drift zone and pull the e-brake and full turn until stop, or get someone to tandem drift with you in an almost identical spec car
Myth for you AR12: Using different suspensions WITH the same tuning values gives you different results (not all the cars can have the exact same values with race suspension, rally suspension and drift suspension)
lol, you already knew about the drag car's stock tire compound being better off-road than any other tire. You did a vid on it 2 months ago when doing dirt drag racing.
to make the first one more even for all the diffs you should of put auto transmission so you know your not going up in gears to fast or slower then the last run
I have one that nobody wants to listen to. Drift suspension is better for off-road racing because of the higher steering lock & agility. I’m on the Xbox One and I can compete with PC players. Also, it just easier to tune. Camber, -1 front & rear Spring stiffness, full soft Ride hight, fully lifted Rebound, 10 front & rear Bump stiffness, 1 front & rear
So is the drift diff just faster because you left the tuning values alone? Because I feel like you could just copy whatever the tuning values for that one are and put it on the Race one or any of them that allow you to tune them. I always tune my own diffs, so I might check this with a test car by putting the drift diff on and doing a run with it as it comes vs a run with me putting it to the values I normally use on it.
Honestly, I always thought the different diffs were exactly the same "aftermarket part" but tuned differently? So you don't have to manually tune it afterwards; but all of them unlock the full tuning spectrum anyway, so all it does would be giving you different starting points. Is this the Mandela Effect at work? 👀
So naturally with Differential spec a drift differential is supposed to be the fastest simply because you’re supposed to produce more natural wheel spin compared to others. With a right tire you can let that shit hook up and fly
Nick you needed to do the drag races in automatic gears, cause the power band on that McLaren is quite small and at the top of the rev range, even shifting 100rpm difference can affect the drag time because you spend longer or less time in the power band.
@@AR12Gamingi didn’t see you’d geared it down, I thought the redlining just before the finish line was cause you didn’t shift up. I do feel like a follow up on this type of video would be worth it cause I imagine there’s a lot more things like this

You can see how many miles you have in a car.

11:18 the stock tires probably just have absolutely jacked grip numbers and it overpowers the offroad tires' "offroadiness" parameter
Lol they should've made it possible for those super slicks to have a negative offroad parameter, so the game divides the grip stats when the tyre goes offroad.
No, sort of
They can’t hang on dirt tracks, only dirt drag race
Plymouth Cuda has "interior customization" as well, removes the passenger seat if you use weight reduction

A potential myth to test, the oil and cooking upgrade adds so much weight for so little power that it makes it faster to leave it stock
it drops pi along with intercooler so can be worth it if youre downgrading
