I'm obsessive and keep track of every penny, save every receipt. I know for a fact groceries are, on average, at least 50% more expensive than they used to be. I haven't had a 50% increase in my income during that time, so ... yeah.
@@themomvlogger1856 I was erring on the side of caution. I too believe prices have doubled. Taking "shrinkflation" into account, it is almost certain. For example, I buy certain products with the expectation of using them in recipes I've made for years, but the packages contain less than I expected, so ... change the recipe? Buy two (at the inflated price)? It's tough going.

I have some old receipts before 2020 so I was able to compare some prices a while a back and a lot of things doubled in price if not more.
