So them bringing up the expected drop but it not being super strong shows that there was a formula to follow but not always executed. It's not a bad thing. I think it helps define the differences of songs.

I see where they're coming from though, even though GOT7 is one of my top 3 favorite groups of all time, doesn't mean any of the negative opinions aren't of any value. It's true that their titles haven't been the most melodically diverse, but the reactors also didn't see a lot of other aspects that fans would see (choreo, behind the scenes, live performances, etc), so their opinions are strictly based off of whatever they see in these music videos. Plus they don't say their opinions in a way that undermines the group at all, so thank you guys for your honest reactions!

Totally agree unfortunately. I love them so much for who they are and I jam out to their albums asf but I have to admit that their music isn't technically (as they analyze it) amazing. But I do feel like it's only a matter of time before they get/write a really good song and make it big in Korea. I'm actually a new fan & I got into Got7 first not for their music--their promotional tracks never really did it for me at first, until I saw If You Do and Fly (Fly is my favorite from them). And it's honestly so refreshing to see this kind of criticism towards their music, bcuz I've always been frustrated with how their promo tracks have been produced, either kinda one-dimensional or too many attempts at being varied (i.e. Just Right, Hard Carry, & Never Ever), which I think up until this point muddles the genre or style that Got7 is really aiming for. Their albums have better tracks IMHO, especially those written & composed by the boys themselves (i.e. My Home, Home Run, No Jam, Paradise, etc). Nonetheless, I think what made me appreciate abt this video is how they delved into the boys' vocals and rapping. Honestly, Got7 gets so much flak for being a "so-so" group, but I think it's only because their singing and harmonization tend to be overlooked. I also think Got7's rappers are strong and has good flow; their rap parts aren't awkward at all. Lastly, I really appreciated it when they commented that the songs are an "easy listen" which can be quite a positive thing these days, especially given K-Pop's aggressiveness towards sound/beat experimentation.

To add on, in Korea, smaller faces are more ideal. So people wear big frame glasses to make their face seem smaller.

Actually the whole thing with the glasses is that the little girl was using them as a way of covering up her face and she took them off because she didn't feel like she needed to hide anymore.
ZoeDucky yeah, plus in South Korea it seems to be a thing to have a smaller face, so if you wear glasses, your face looks smaller (or that's what I have seen in videos of Korean celebrities saying why they wear glasses)
I always got that she didn't need the glasses because she didn't care about what she looked like anymore so she didn't need to see as clear since the only thing she was looking at was her appearance and that she was only seeing negative.

In Korea, people obsess over having a small face because they think it's more beautiful, so people always wear wide-rimmed fake glasses to make their faces look smaller (if you look carefully, you'll see that her glasses don't have any lenses, meaning they were for fashion and not for vision purposes). So the girl taking off her glasses was not nerd shaming like it would be in Western countries, it was actually about accepting your natural physical features.

hugo might've had the misunderstanding, but what i like about just right (although i don't really care for the tune of the song) is that the girl taking off her glasses kind of signifies her stopping being embarrassed by hiding her face and hiding behind glasses. there are cultural differences that separate her action from the western trope of "when the girl removes her glasses she becomes pretty™". this is also evident in an episode of hello counselor, where i think jimin and jin from bts guest starred. there was a very shy and anxious girl who always hid behind glasses and/or a mask (even though the glasses were not prescription) because she felt that she had to hide, and she didn't feel confident in her face or her self esteem. so, that is what got7 portrayed in the video when the girl took off her glasses because they didn't want her to hide and be sad, but let go and live happily. hope this made sense :)
