Vocal Coach Reaction to Dimash Kudaibergen - Sinful Passion - Ken Tamplin
Dimash is certainly setting the bar VERY high in the world of singing.
After my doing my first "a vocal coach reacts to Dimash" video, I got a TON of requests to do his song "Sinful Passion."
I have got to give this guy 2 thumbs way up!
His technical skills, his passion, his control, his pitch, his rage, his emotion, his ability to go from low chest, through the passaggio into head and even whistle registers, his use of good vowel modifications, his different timbres between registrations, switch from covered operatic vowels and then opening them up to gain range for more contemporary vowels. Just really good stuff.
SOOOO refreshing to hear talent again, rather than another Britney.
Take a listen, I think you will agree.
I look forward to hearing more from Dimash!

Actually, Ken Tampling was the lead singer and guitar player of a famous Christian rock band formed in the 80s (more specifically, gram metal rock) that's why his vocal range. Most of rock singers have spectacular voices, reaching super high notes as well as low notes, falsetto, etc. I'm not much knowledgeable in music or vocals, but most of my knowledge comes from watching Ken.

    The story
behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the
same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart
attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash
revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental
Arab technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist!
Bright! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is
A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his
name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together
with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in
    the video accompanying Dimash.

He was offered a position with the 5th largest opera house in the world and turned them down. He said he wanted to have fun with music and his voice. Opera, popera, folk, pop, rap, traditional...he puts everything into the mix. How he can go high to low and do all these techniques in them is fantastic. He knows how to use everything he has in this wonderful instrument.

The finesse. He's wrapped all inside that song. His tone is so rich...his nuance and natural feeling is musically excellent. It's a real painting. You can teach the mechanics of his vocal technique....but you can't teach what Dimash has. Pure instinct and feel that is substantial. His persona is so open and free. No pretense

What a lot of reactors miss here due to unfotunate timing of pausing is that last phrase was all carried through in a single breath. The chest, into insane head, dropping into a lengthy melisma all in a single one-breath vocal phrase. I doubt there is a known vocalist alive who could pul that kinda feat off.
I hadn't heard of this guy until tonight and now I'm glad I have. It's refreshing to see a young face with such raw talent and ability. The kinda thing doesn't exist in contemporary music nowadays.

He will play this in his song Dadidau. This is a Kazakh song . Finally!! A vocal coach that knows what they are doing.Dimash is a vocal BEAST!!! He has a vocal range from F2-D8.His baritone range is beautiful. The two chest belts are Perfection.I am blown away by his upper vocal range. He is a rare talent and a very highly gifted singer. He can sing 1st soprano like a boss. Some vocal coaches are calling him fake.He IS the real deal.Head voice,Chest voice,Mixed voice,He is the total package.Thank you Ken for your vocal instruction. You are Awesome!!

That's amazing you hit that note. I'm 54 and no way in hell am I ever gonna be able to hit a b6. Once in awhile I can do certain king diamond songs and Rush songs but a lot harder now then thirty years ago. Great reaction. I hope you noticed the perplexed look of the keyboard player after Dimash hit that note. I like on the break he does that kind of humm with the flutter. You feel like your suddenly in the Sahara. The other song makes you feel like your on a camel trekking across the Gobi desert on your way to kazakhstan.

LOOOOOVE Dimash! He is a vocal savant if you ask me. People work their whole lives to get that good and never do. I told Dad and he listened to him was also impressed which is difficult. I told dad about showing Dimash to some of my acquaintances and them turning up their noses not even acknowledging the talent, dad told me to tell them to go back to their trailer and just stop because they didn't have the common knowledge it took to survive 😁😂😄

Thank you so much for that great in-depth reaction, Ken!
Even though I'm a metalhead: When I discovered that guy half a year ago, he instantly became my favorite singer!
THAT range in combination with THAT technique and THAT mix of different styles is simply unique. I love him!
BTW, yes, he can sing with distortion, I've heard it in two of his performances. However, it were only really small section of those songs. So, yes, he can do it, but I guess he's not that used to it (yet). Would love to hear that more often.
