    Unreal vid mate, thanks heaps for posting. It's helps with my planned trip in September. I didn't know if my "little" 5000h saltiga would be up to the task of handling the brutes I'm chasing, but it's quite obvious that they go quite well.

      Ed T thanks for the feed back, yes the 5000h is a great reel I love it but don't be fooled there were many bust offs before I was able to land one.

    I fished this wharf in July 2016 - Busted up big time, the fish know where to run after being hooked - Well done on your catch, I know how much hard work you would have put into this catch!

    Those black gt in habour are tame. They are local, feeding on charter boat fish scraps Hense there size. Tourist attraction actually. . Lame! Try fishing in the passage!

    • @akaufilm682
      @akaufilm682 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i reckon, super lame.

    • @mikew370
      @mikew370 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are pretty much pets. You can actually feed them by hand there. Easy to hook up, but still very tough to land one. I hooked two round by the passage and couldn't land either. It was just a shame he put his hand inside its gills to lift it. Not very good for the catch and release of local "pets". There are signs up now saying you cannot fish there.

      Male GT sometimes exhibit that coloration. When mature. Some believe it has to do with spawning.

    Super lame - no self respecting fisherman would fish tame fish around the dock

  • @jjseandxcefree
    @jjseandxcefree 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    those are tourist goldfish guys. Come on ~ the GT in the Raro wharf are like tame ducks. Yu may as well be catching fish in barrel. Shame on you to make it a big deal...

    • @ptsplumber
      @ptsplumber 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed, they are the pets of the harbour here fed by the fishermen here when gutting their catch. This activity is frowned upon here at the harbour and could face some "stern" comments from the charter boats nearby....

    • @austinprosser4179
      @austinprosser4179 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ptsplumber as long as the fish is looked after and not targeted with stainless steel hooks I don't see a problem. Here in Perth we have Samson fish upto 40kg plagued in our local marinas, and the Sambos that either bust you off or released, come to play the next day as many are easily distinguished from others. I'm yet to see a fish with a collar, they're wild not pets bud.

    • @akaufilm682

      @@austinprosser4179 "here in perth"... this isn't perth. local rules apply.
