- Every family is unique. How each family is created and comes together is special. Kaavia James Union Wade's journey into our arms was long and at times brutal. There were heartbreaks that nearly broke us and streams of tears that turned into raging rivers. And then came Kaavia James. This is our birth journey. Thank you all for the love, support and understanding and all the people who held us up when we lost hope. Watch it with love. Watch it with hope. Love and light good people.

As a woman in her late 30s who suffered from 3 miscarriages myself. I was finally blessed with a successful pregnancy when I hit 40. I had 2 children in my younger years but desperately desired a baby with the love of my life. Your story and the fact that your out there bringing awareness to the shame associated with pregnancy loss is amazing and I truly cried for joy when I heard ur baby girl was born. I was in shock because I had no idea you guys were pregnant! I know how it feels to loose multiple babies and to finally hold one in the end!!! Its truly a remarkable feeling. I am so so happy for the both of you. Congrats shes beautiful!!
Why would you be in shock? The said via SURROGACY. That's why she posted a picture of herself in a bikini a week before the birth. Or are you including the Surrogate when you said "...I had no idea you guys were pregnant!" Just wondering.
Good for You! I'm 26 years old and I am in no rush have kids. I'm oldest out of 5 and been around kids all my life. I wouldn't mind doing adoption because that would be beautiful thing to do.

Why am I crying...this is so beautiful. My sister lost three angels...one from IVF...I cannot tell you the sadness I felt for her. She was actually suicidal at one point. She's finally a mom via Donor Egg. She's finally living her dream as a mom with a great husband. There are millions of women who cannot get pregnant or stay pregnant and its a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Shabby, no wonder they're named after the rainbow, because after the rain, the sun always shine again, even through sometimes it refuses to shine. Thanks , yes it's going to be excellent because my hubby and I celebrated our 20 wedding anniversary and we got a new member for this Christmas, our baby boy who's three months old. We were beyond excited that after twenty years and even I'm in my early 40's we could still have our baby. So this Christmas has a special flavor to it.

This was so beautiful to watch and very enlightening. I had no idea how severe endometriosis was as I've suffered from very heavy periods in the past and once feared I'd never have children. Watching this has warmed my heart and I'm so happy for Gabrielle. Even though you didnt carry her your souls are one and bonded together 😍

thank you for your transparency you do not have to share this but you chose to. I appreciate your journey I have suffered with fibroid tumors and endometriosis. I can relate I also had cancer and the 18-month child and cancer the age of 27. I had my first miscarriage and last miscarriage 2004.......... Gabrielle I'm very happy for you and Dwayne in the family with your new bundle of joy thank you for sharing everything you share even in the hospital bed I thought that was so great just that moment for you guys as a couple and even that you decided this year with us and also the part of you and the person who carry the child how you guys all bonded. if you need anyone with stories regarding endometriosis in your book let me know I live in Illinois and I will be glad to share my journey also as you relate to other women in your helping so many thank you Gabrielle!!!

Thank you for shining a light on this stigmatized topic. My miscarriage was slow torture and went on for 3 weeks, while life still demanded normalcy from me. I cried in my office bathroom and wept myself to sleep every night, slowly losing my daughter and the hopes and dreams I had for her. I gave a presentation to hundreds of people days after the doctors finally removed her from my womb. All because "no one could know". I appreciate the awareness you are bringing to this - it means a lot. And hopefully it will bring about true change for the 1/4 pregnancies that result in miscarriage.

The sheer joy & peace in Gab's face from the hospital bed during the labor, that moment their sweet baby girl was born and held up to her and every moment since is so palpable 🤍.
This woman is a survivor, even during those moments when I just know that surviving feels like a climb up Mount Everest.
I've experienced so much of the same horrors Gab has had the courage to share with the world. I am... a part of that club nobody ever wants to be a member of, me too...
Her joy is more than heartwarming. It gives me hope in so many ways. Hope that on the other side of pain, peace, love & joy is truly possible.
I'm so grateful for her peace. Sweet Kaavia James is one beautiful demonstration of this 🤍.
Gosh Gabrielle is a beautiful, eloquent soul. She has been through so much. You both have. Weirdly enough, we crossed paths in a private jet lounge in Bora Bora a couple of years ago, I had no idea how similar(ish) our lives have been. I am currently going through the screening process for a surrogate, too. I'm so glad you shared your story.

Okay . . . I've had a few glasses of wine, which tends to be a truth serum for me. I have never met Gabrielle Union, but I believe with all my heart she has not only been put on earth to show us what raw love is and to give hope to women who feel hopeless but to also bless Dwayne and his boys - in doing so, she has shown, by example WHAT the power of Love, hope, and perseverance can accomplish. Doing all this with an Angel's face, a cool-aid smile and dimples you still want to pinch. I am crying the ugly cry now. Waterproof mascara failing, (wasted $30) snot running down my face, sinuses are blocked... the muscles/wrinkles I've been trying not to use may have grown deeper. Thanks, Gabby! Oh, also . . . . the way DW looks at you and the way you look at him is so . . . . I don't know. I don't remember anyone ever looking at me like that . . . I hope I experience it just once - even if it is not true - I can roll with it. I think I sometimes look at Idris Elba like that, but I can't be sure. Anyway, I remember the Essence awards where you "checked" yourself and wondered for many months if I could EVER admit the flaws in my character - not just to the ones I believe love me, but to the entire world. You did that on that evening - and you were my new definition of MAGNIFICENT- and still are. To reveal who I am truly - flaws and all, is on my bucket list. You've done that already - You set the bar very high - thanks Gabby :-/. I'm so overjoyed for you. I am closing my eyes now and thanking GOD for putting you on the earth and for giving me the wisdom/vision to recognize your strength - strengthing me (and GOD knows how many other women). Now you, DW and the boys are responsible for introducing Kaavia to this earth, giving her a tour and protecting her from the strange humans who occupy it. If she is anything like her mommy (Oh yeah, and Dad, too - who is very very handsome and elegant, and big and strong, intelligent, with a perfect smile.) - Hey - I said I've had wine!!! - No disrespect. I recognize that brevity is the soul of wit . . . But GU you've taught me so much about being a very very very very brave and fearless woman. Thank you for helping me to be a better human and a better stronger woman. I saved two months for this bottle of Cab . . . It's breathed long enough. Oceans of Love . . .

She is not adopted dear...she is their biological child...egg and sperm used is the couple's..the mom just culdnt carry the baby becos of a condition
The surrogate has no genetic connection to the baby becos a womb doesnt create a child ..it just nurtures a fertilised egg ...the dna of the child is not in the womb ..it is in the fertilised egg..
