My fav. DMB song. Inspired me to play guitar back in high school 2001, I played this song to my gf in 2013, we got married in 2014. I just played this song a couple of days ago to my kids who are now 3 and 2. Almost twenty years went by, a lot has changed but a few things have stayed perfectly the same.

One night I was driving home from work, windows down, this song blaring and it gets to the high note and I try my best but I sound like a lovesick moose but I don’t care because it’s my favorite song. I’m in the turn lane and after the high note I look over and see a car full of high school girls with their windows down and they’re holding up their lighters and cheering and even I was laughing 😂
i come back to this song like its my star and im a meteorite wandering in the darkness, but ultimately guided by the incredible mass of this amazing piece of musicality.

My favorite song of all time, loved Dave my first year of college and this album dropped near the summer. I bought it and song #2 of a 6 hour car ride with my family I couldn’t quit listening to it. The whole time at the beach I would just go back to it over and over like the waves calling me out to sea. On the way home the last hour we stopped at a strip mall and a music store was there. I walked in and bought an acoustic on the spot. Learned a lot of songs just to learn this song and now just trying to find tickets.

#41 Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Live at Luther College in 1997 is f-ing great! Matthew's acoustical renditions are a lot better than his electrical guitar version, this song is awesome when you can hear it!

I absolutely loved this song. Back in the days when my Mom and brother were still alive and my feet just used to automatically move. Not so much today unfortunately, live has a way of beating you down. But we somehow survive.
To me this song is about a couple where the man dies and he’s on the other side and both of them are sad and miss each other and he feels bad because he can’t tell her he’s still able to see her but he can’t do anything. That line at the end where he wants her to play in the rain so the tears can splash over her, those are his tears and the only way he can still touch her. Maybe I’m wrong but if anyone ever writes a movie like that I think this song would work well for the soundtrack.
lots of Booz went down with dinner with this song playing in 2000..... DMB is the best music for dinner cooking and eating. Resturants bars cookouts to being in your kitchen. Try it... Its the soul food music!!!
Reminds me of arriving in Frisco, CO.... In early fall after parting from a summer long love affair with a beautiful British girl.... As soon as I arrived to spend the winter I was having some beers in a bar and they had this song on a juke box....
