Excellent summary, my friend. Keep following the wisdom that you spoke of as it definitely leads to Enlightenment. BTW, Buddha sat under a ''Bodhi'' tree. Pure awareness has 3 main attributes: Infinite Power, Knowledge and Bliss. 😇 😊

@@witnessmindI think you were thinking of Isaac newton ha, he sat under the apple tree and got hit in the head by an apple, sparking his theory of gravity

100% my man. It's easy to get lost in a hamster wheel on a daily basis and "needing" to do this or that...mind can be quite tricky...
When I catch "myself" in that loop, I do the complete opposite... Seat and slow down... you can't do, accomplish, become more than you already are. Empty, empty, empty...yet complete.
    💜

Absolutely!! You are right the mind is very tricky…it will do anything to pull you back into personhood. But luckily, this present moment is always here for us

Nice. My only job is to say lovingly to myself I love you, thank you. Straight to my hearth and to my inner child with compassion. If I get triggered and feel hurt, heavy, numb or anything I can love myself and also do it when I feel good. One big issue for me is feeling not being enough. Then I be with myself and love myself more and know I am enough allways because I am and neti neti

Most of the suffering in the world is caused by greed.

Either I want this(greed), or I don't want that(hatred). All the suffering is caused by craving

Your story seems similar to mine, with drugs and looking for a cure. What is "work" in your understanding? I do self-inquiry(constant 24/7), mindfulness of death and contemplation of relevant topics(usually dhamma)

    • @witnessmind

I just rest as awareness. Anytime my thoughts or my emotions start to run the show, I just rest back as the witness. I do this in meditation and throughout my life this is been completely liberating for me

Chop water, carry wood. Everything else superfluous.
The world will always find a way to bring you down. No need to make it harder by letting your own thoughts bring you down.
More insidious are the positive thoughts that blind the ego into feeling like progress is being made when really all that is built are complex mental constructs of nothing.
In that sense I'd much rather receive criticism than praise. The correct response to both is no reaction.
