  • Join Maureen Burke from Emory's Cognitive Empowerment Program to discuss how the eyes change with age and with changes to the brain like MCI. We will talk about these changes and tie everything back into keeping you safe at home simple adjustments to age in place.
    Through a unique research partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Cognitive Empowerment Program aims to provide people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and their Care Partners and families an opportunity to participate in comprehensive lifestyle programs that promote joy, purpose, health, and wellness.
    CEP is a research study at Emory University in partnership with Georgia Tech in which a person with mild cognitive impairment and their care partner participate in several hours of educational programming each week for an entire year.
    Each week, we also offer informative and educational programming webinars on topics related to Mild Cognitive Impairment including physical activities, new technology that can be useful in aging and staying active, the latest innovations, lifestyle interventions, and environmental considerations.
    CEP community live events are open to all members of the community including people diagnosed with MCI or dementia, care partners, and clinicians. Our programming is focused on research supported ways increasing empowerment, community, and decreasing symptoms of memory loss.
