@ITEM-B sat down with us to chat about E36 drift car style, and although the interview went great, his microphone messed up, and we saved the audio as best we could! Sorry about the audio!
The item b version 1 and 2 rx7 was the sickest car when it was white with with full bn sports aero and rear window louvers. I loved that car so much.. It only makes sense that he would build this e36. This dude knows how to style cars

You can't expect to put someone on the camera, and say "entertain me". Great interviewing is a skill.
I've bought two bmw's from Evan! Such a cool dude and he's always up front with everything about the cars.
Excited to see an interview from Evan. Was waiting for this since I found out he will be on Drift Week.
Evan single handily made me fall in love with old bmws, especially the e36 and e38. Just following his insta and seeing how cool you can make these cars with very little modifications is a nice change of pace. Even my s13 needed so much work to make look good because it’s near impossible to find a clean base to start with that isn’t a shit ton of money
I really like his attention to detail and intentionality

Its so cool to actually see the owner of the Item B FC because I remember reading about it from Speedhunters. Also a channel replicated his v2 FC car in a game using the FD rx7.

Finally met Evan in person last event at pats acres.. helped him fix his car even! Drift week is so bad ass I know lots of people driving!!
I usual hate bmw's purely because they never have any style atleast not in the uk they always just run standard wheels and look terrible, bought as a tool and 0 image in mind so it's really refreshing to see one done like this soo good for me atleast drifting is about style just as much as driving
Obviously a slammed af car isnt gonna drive the same as a tonka truck drift car but its honestly not even as bad as all these people make it out to be, and if youre on track worrying about blowing your bumper or some shit off every turn then you probably shouldnt even be out there to begin with in all reality. I say that because being on track should mean your intentions are to be fully dedicated no matter if your car is slammed or not. Yea i know run on sentence af lol!

I remember Evan's old build e46 with a 2jz swap & musk widebody kit. He parted out that build because it was too costly to drive competitively. Nice to see him back with the e36.

17:24 haha relatable, i put VGT turbo on that 518i (after i had fully build 7mgte in it and that only needed oil pan work, so i take it out, put m40 back in and after some time m40 broke dizzy, so thats how i put there aftermarket ecu and turbo) and it feels great.. big chassis, light engine (dunno what weight distribution it has as e34 with 1.8).. its on only 1 bar now (with bigger cam) but makes by my guess like 300ish on crank, so 230 at wheels? but its fun to drive and i dont even want to put 7m in (also cause it is/was a bit rusted) and in meantime i build another m52b30 :D

thanks for the insight but everyone listening needs to understand.all the cars he built and said they didnt drive well were all his doing of not modifying a car correctly. you can run low and it still drive good. 380hp 2jz is very underpowered which is probably due to the wrong turbo sizing and why he constantly had to clutch kick alot. don musk runs e46 way lower, faster and drives hard asf. weve also seen fc rx7's with ls swaps in competition with far less power then the competitors like d1nz....
